Practice Management Books

This is one of the most interesting and informative articles I have ever read. I'd love to see more from this author.

The fact that the author has been in the same awful position were in now helped a lot! Only wish i'd read it 5 or 6 years ago. Down to the last detail everything has been considered, how to chose the right care home, how to make sure that bills can still be payed without losing the house-even down to how we can make sure that voting rights are secured! Gives a whole knew perspective on age and doesn't shy away from any issues what so ever-in fact the author makes you think about the things we were avoiding!

Would whole heartedley reccommend it to any one who has either left it too late and is having to make decisions for a mother of father or to any one who is ensuring their property, savings and personal choice are protected for when they grow older and have to rely on others.

Very good reference on the importance of early schooling, training of mothers and carers, and collaboration between school and families. Children who were taught early to read were most likely to succeed in school. Different programs and their results were given.

Jim Burtles is one of the business continuity professionals I most admire because of his long-standing commitment to the business continuity industry, and his extensive contributions to the profession over his broad career.

So, as a publisher (and as publisher of this book) I was thrilled when I first saw Jim's manuscript. There are not many people who could have written this book - and far fewer who could have written it nearly as well.

This book is an ideal combination of the practice of business continuity - standards, best practices, global perspective - and, the process of business continuity - planning, development, implementation, and so forth. Jim presents a clear picture of not just how to do what needs to be done, but why. By striking a balance between theory and practice, I believe Jim's approach makes the reader's job much easier and more effective.

There are other books on business continuity - I have edited or published many of them - but Jim Burtles' book is my favorite. With the included CD-ROM containing extensive tools and resources, this book is a no-brainer for anyone who wants to understand business continuity management, is about to embark on implementing a business continuity program, or is looking to bring an existing business continuity program up to world-class best practice.

The order arrived in a matter of days. I haven't opened the box yet, much less looked at the book(s). Too tied up in the course work I am doing. But undoubtedly it will be fine. Every Amazon and Amzona partner purchase so far has been just as expected. I have bought all my textbooks for my graduate level academic career for either Amazon or one of its partners. Superb value for the money.

In his book Cartin covers an amazing amount of ground, in depth and easily read. He provides a lot of graphs and figures, which I like for explaining concepts. Cartin is also a big fan of Control Charts and sigma, which is often given just equal treatment with the other tools in many other books, but as any practictioner knows, is the tool most often used for quality process control.

There are some new elements added from the earlier version (TQM in title), but substantively this is the same book. Good thing, the original book was a classic. I still refer to my copy often. I read a friend's copy of this newer version and decided that the older one was still 99% relevant. However, if you don't own the earlier version, buy this one. It will provide value longer than that car you're driving.

Melodie's book should be required reading for anyone entering the profession and for those in the profession. She will make you laugh and cry while reminding you why you got into nursing. She reminds us that what we are suppose to be doing in nursing should be in the best interest of patients and not all the other interests that clutter up health care today. I was changed after reading Pro-Nurse and better able to handle the stresses that we face trying to meet the challenges of nursing.

I ordered this book through my college bookstore, but it was taking too long to get it, so I ordered it through Amazon.com and got it in 2-3 days. The price was about half what it would have cost through the bookstore. It took 4-5 weeks to get it through the bookstore (actually they told me they couldn't get it, then it showed up there) so I told them to send it back. Amazon.com is absolutely the best website to order ANYTHING!!

This is a great book. This book is listed as a paperback and it is hardcover.

As you work your way through your architectural career there come the times when you need to be reminded about how you should work and how the profession has changed while your eyes were glued to your monitor.

This book does all of that and more. Almost all of the contributors are a pleasure to read and on task with the area they were asked to write about.

I recommend this bood to anyone at any level of their career.
