Practice Management Books

I am a student of Oriental Medicine and found this book fascinating as well as very helpful in handling my emphysema. I recommend it highly!
Hard to find, but worth the search.

This book departs from the standard practice of empty rhetoric penned by starry-eyed academians. In THIS book, we see what real people do for real success.

I was able to formulate my own plan for success, by looking at what these people do. This vicarious learning is the best approach for such a subject matter, and it has become a competitive advantage for my company.

This book is the best 'advanced practice' handbook I've ever read!!! I want to thank Joan Slager for putting this book together, and adding to my health care knowledge bank!! Great book, HIGHLY recommended!!

Mary has done an excellent job presenting some of the do's and dont's of acquiring financial planning and insurance practices. This is an easily bungled acquisition and she has broken it down to best practices and limiting potential disaster. Excellent "how to" read.

This book introduces some best practices in managing a call center. It's a good way to check where you are in terms of customers and employees, as well as strategy, position, technology, and measures. After each element is explained, the book lists some questions to ask yourself and what can stop you from improving. It's a good basic

Alternative Link is amazing. I have known about them for 8 years and watched them grow. They have taken the complexity of insurance coding and simplified it. And the best part is that they have developed codes for complementary and alternative medical practices. This hadn't been done.

The CAM and Nursing Coding Manual is an example of this work. It is simple, concise straight forward because it is based on the ABC codes. It is easy to read and not hard to follow. It is a must for healthcare providers particularly those who need an overview of the process. It is the future of CAM.

While there aren't too many other choices in the area of cancer registry textbooks, I have to say that this is a practical and comprehensive basic overview of what we need to be cancer registrars. Possibly there is some outdated material now, but if you read this book, or refer to this book, you get not only information, but a guide to the logic behind the duties and procedures of a cancer registrar. It's a little pricey, maybe, but worth every penny.

This is a great book for beginning cancer registrars, or for those registrars that need a good reference book. By highlighting everything from legal standards to time management, ACoS standards to ways to abstract charts, this book covers the entire spectrum of Cancer Registry management. I highly recommend this book.
