Practice Management Books

Speaking as a corporate communication professional, I can honestly say this is the most stimulating business book I've read. The premise is that organization leaders must go beyond simply seeking buy-in from their employees to a more iterative, interactive (and, ultimately, much more inspiring and effective) process of continually reinventing the organization. This argument is supported with great examples and enough detail to be actionable.

Mary Boone has authored a wonderful resource for implementing a knowledge-sharing culture in the Enterprise. Things to pay special attention to in the book include the ten key competencies for mastering new methods of communication and management, her insightful analysis of trends and obstactles affecting corporate communication, and the way she uses interviews with CEOs and executives to show you how others have implemented effective collaborative strategies.

On the lighter side of things, read her story about "George" in the "Get Over Yourself" chapter. She uses this story to point out how personality differences can be a show stopper to implementing innovation and promoting creativity. Furthermore, she explains how collaborative technologies can help bypass some of these differences.

This is the BEST book for new managers learning how to manage people. The language is simple and easy to understand.

I am only two readings into this book, and I feel that a great deal of well-structured, to-the-point and unbiased thought has been put into every detail of writing.

This is a remarkable book. Brilliantly researched, the findings are set out so as to be user friendly, whether for student, teacher, manager or HR practitioner. 'Mind Diagrams' assist in making the journey through the various sections both easy and memorable. This book synthesises the plethora of information on modern man management practices into a coherent guide, and uniquely fills a huge void in the literature.

This is a refreshing and easy to read insight into modern management theory. It goes past the callous efficiency of 1980's and 90's economic rationalism and shows how managers from the top performing organisations are bringing humanity back into the workplace. With talent shortages defining the workplace post 2000 this book shows how to attract and retain good staff, and how to foster innovation, profits and better productivity by treating you people well.

I used the textbook and workbook to practice for the coding certification exam. This book had more practice exercises than any of the others I considered.

I liked the step by step approach. Also, I do not need the medical terminology included in a lot of other medical coding books.

New edition now has answer key for self-study as well as additional workbook with additional exercises for additional study for certification exam or extra practice.

Also serves as great reference guide for the office after study.

With Medicare compliance and false claim risks increasing, this is a wonderful guide for Physicians and those who bill for them.

This is an incredible book for leaders at all levels in the Health Care arena. What these 9 institutions are doing should become standard practice through out the industry. I loved the comments by employees and patients. I think I would like being served on a silver platter.

There are volumes of leadership business texts that display the subject's photo on the dust jacket - like Napoleon - leaders that thrive on their titantic personalities.

Masterpieces in Health Care Leadership describes quite another type of leader. These are quieter characters subtly investing their time aligning the way people think to the needs of the institution they lead. Masterpieces . . . is a great work. I enjoyed it. It's really a field book as I see it and I recommend it to my clients. It shows "what do I do?", actionable items and I think that's invaluable for hospital managers that frequently ask that question.

My oldest daughter is going to school and she uses the book. It helps her out as the class will not allow her to bring the book home from class and she is greatful that I had gotten it for her. She is also helping some of her classmates by making copies for them.

This book is perfect. The book is filled with helpful, easy to understand information on a complex subject. Very helpful and highly recommend!

Very little literature exists that explains in succinct and understandable terms the legal and financial aspects of joining or leaving a medical practice. Medical Pracice Divorce accomplishes this difficult task in a superbly written fashion. It should be read by all physicians who are nearing the completion of their residency or already in practice.

I found this book excellent and just what I needed for use in a big children's hospital and for an upcoming mission trip to Latin America. Good price and delivered quickly.

This book lives up to it's title- it is easy to read, follow, and learn
