Intellectual Property Books

This book was a God send to me. The flow charts were extremely helpful in putting the overarching themes of the course in discreet elements and aided in the organization of my class outline. I haven't gotten my grade yet for the IP Law class I took this fall, but I know having an organized approach to studying the information made me feel more comfortable in the exam.

Rather comprehensive reference guide. Attorney Melvin seems to get at the critical issues relating e-commerce and cyber-law. I recall he appeared on CNBC(Power Lunch I think?)

Finally a book that gives you the necessary information to understand intellectual property law in Costa Rica.

In the world of multimedia and information sharing, authors need to be informed about the legality of their works. This volume covers all facets of copyright issues using non-technical terms. Especially helpful are the appendices which cover off-air duplication, classroom use, permission and licenses, reproduction, etc. Those concerned with copyright issues would be well pleased with this volume.

This is a good book on the subject. Technical, but still easily readable. I have nothing to compare it to, but it met my expectations.

This book covers a difficult topic in exactly the right amount of detail. For anyone studying EU competition law, its without doubt one of the best guides, and a must for the bookshelf.

Author Hedieh Nasheri suggests that if James Bond were alive and well, he probably would be pounding a keyboard somewhere. Her book consists of an entertaining review of historic case studies of computer crimes and industrial spying, plus an examination of the laws that nations have passed in an attempt to stem the leaky tide of outgoing information. The book defines the magnitude of the problem and pounds the drums for greater international cooperation on security and protection of intellectual property, but it is short on real solutions. And who can blame Nasheri? When countries such as China and France bug airplane seats, break into hotel rooms, pilfer attaché cases and pay cash for pirated industrial secrets, why delve into international policing? We believe that reading this book is a sound place to start deepening the business community's education about this escalating problem.

I had a great pleasure to read and recommend Ove Granstrand's book, as a PhD student in economics. Grastrand reviews strategies, by which patenting and intellectual property rights can serve as a "strategic arsenal" in technological competition. His overview brings an empirical comparison between patent systems in Japan and Sweden. The taxonomy of patent strategies, which is brought in the book, can serve as a milestone for scholars in the field of intellectual property rights.

I highly recommend this book. This book provided me with insights on various Intellectual property disciplines. It helped guide me on the best new strategies, developments, and technologies in trademarks and unfair competition

This compact little book includes the rules with annotations of (European) case decisions. No lengthy narrative, just the rules and annotations, but two valuable tools are included. First, the Index is very helpful in moving around the book. Secondly, there are FLOW CHARTS which outline the processes of normal examination, appeals and oppositions. I am currently using the book to try to better grasp a client's post hearing rights before the European Patent Office, and it is most helpful. This book was well worth its cost.
