Dont buy the 2007 edition. You think you might use this book, but almost every statute you'll need to know is DIFFERENT than it reads. Just go to class, take your notes, and learn the interpretations of the statutes that your professor wants you to learn. Most of the time he'll tell you to flip to read a statute and tell you what it really means on the fly. Thats all you need boys and girls. If you read this book for fun or homework without classroom instruction you seriously might have eaten paint chips as a kid.

Do not buy this product. It's not worth the money. I got one page of information -- and it cut that off mid-sentence. It discusses only what type of member qualifies for taxation, not anything of any real substance.

While the title is somewhat impressive, the content is much less so. It goes into very little detail about aspects of the tax law which are critical to self employed individuals. The later chapters address issues such as dependents, charitable contributions, child tax credit and other items which are more related to the personal portion of ones return than ones self employed business.

To make matters worse the book is poorly laid out with long paragraphs and few visual organization clues. Moreover, at the end of some of the chapters are lists which really dont relate back to the content covered in the chapter. While useful, they arent connected.

Save your money and buy another book. Self Employed Tax Solutions by June Walker is head and shoulders better than this book in my opinion as are many others on the market.

I have had my taxes done by a CPA for the last few years and she just retired. I've had a tough time finding someone else who could do minister's taxes so I decided to try it myself by buying two books; this one, and Zondervan's "Minister's Taxes & Financial Guide."

"Clergy Tax" is far superior in my opinion because it really does literally walk you through step-by-step on the all tax forms in a very simple yet thorough way.

Zondervan's book, on the other hand, is why I never did my taxes before -- it gives you theory, and answers some questions in the "Dummies" style, but doesn't ever touch down in the nitty-gritty world of tax forms and what goes where on which form.
