Ohio Books

This well written and concise book is an absolute must-have for any library or individual interested in Ohio legal research. It provides information not only on ways to access current law, but antiquated Ohio law as well. I look forward to a revision.

This is an awesome book just crammed full of information on lures made by, I think, every company to ever produce a lure in Ohio. I myself am not a "fisherman" (or fisher-lady), but I am interested in collecting antique lures (thanks to my grandfather and brother who are/were HUGE into fishing)...I never realized how much those old fishing lures in my shed were worth until I read Mr. Heston's book (I just collected them because they made me think of my grandfather). This author is obviously a true lover of all things fishing. This book is well written and extremely thorough, an ABSOLUTE MUST HAVE for anyone interested in collecting antique fishing lures...or anyone who has an old tackle box collecting dust in a garage, shed, or attic...before you throw out that old tackle you just might wanna check out this book, like me you could find that that old fishing junk is actually a true treasure!!

I found the book to be very resourceful. Having many useful references that would otherwise be left unidentified. Explores the do's and dont's. Very helpful.

As a Cincinnati Ohio native and Ohio State alumni, it's always nice to keep in touch with my old stomping grounds. Ohio's not a state with the power and influence it once was, but its geography, culture, and varied architecture still evokes feelings of serenity and nostalgia. I don't think there's a better publishing company that matches my taste in photography than Browntrout. Year after year, I've never seen their quality to dininish or vary. Again, the 2007 "Ohio Places" calendar has selected a visual feast of photos from around the Buckeye state that capture Ohio's varied culture and vistas. Fall was always my favorite time of the year growing up and the November selection is all that I could want in an autumn photo. Winters in Ohio have a quiet tranquil beauty all their own that is celebrated in January's picture of a country road in Amish country. May's "bed barn" photo honoring Ohio's agriculture brings back memories driving Interstate 71 back and from from Cincinnati and Columbus. Anyone who still feels some pride and happiness in anything Ohio-related will get several smiles out this collection of photographs Browntrout has so wisely chosen for 2007.

Wow! This is an epic tale of everything there is to know about Ohio politics -- featuring all there is to know about the Governors, legislators, and average citizens of the Buckeye state. In this book readers will find the "real story" behind the headlines. The pages turn like a thriller -- I heartily endorse it!

The most comprehensive source for Ohio politcal history. Not intended to read cover to cover, this almanac is a great fact book. Mike Curtin, former statehouse political reporter and now Editor of The Columbus Dispatch, lives up to his name as THE source for Ohio politics facts.

This is a must-read if you like mysteries! The story is non-stop action with an unpredictable plot. Don't try to guess what is going to happen next....you will be fooled! Mr. Dupuy has managed to weave a lot of Polish history and even the Kennedy assasination into his book. His characters are all interesting and the reader gets to know them all quite well. I am looking forward to reading more of Mr. Dupuy's work.

Great Calender! Great action shots of the previous seasons biggest name players. Great color photographs. Great in office or home. Great Collectable. I have all the the Ohio State football calenders from this series for the last 4 years.

State Parks listed alphabetically. Each includes camping, fishing, hiking, day trips, and much more. A map shows where in Ohio each park is. Very comprehensive. There are some phone numbers that have out dated area codes. Great resource.

I was thrilled to come upon this book. It is nearly impossible to find a comprehensive guide or directory about tea rooms. I knew of my local ones, but not statewide here in Ohio. Rebecca includes photos of the tea rooms she has discovered along with descriptions of the proprietors, the shops hours, types of foods, reservations required, handicapped accessible and locations. Very thorough and a nice handbook to have on hand for your next trip in Ohio!
