This is an excellent and unusual book, since it is eminently readable in addition to interesting, and is useful in both the business world and policy analysis.
The idea is that two very different governments (Socialist France and Thatcherite Britain) had a remarkably similar approach to funding heavy industry. The implications for national (and developing global) financial structures are significant, and are approached (again unusual and extremely useful) from both the national macro level, and from the firm/micro level.
This book is a unique contribution to business analysis, macroeconomic policy and political structures. It is rare to find a book which is applicable in the real world as much as in the academic one, and this one is also well-written and accessible.

Compiled and edited by academician Robin Bernstein (who teaches in the Program of Studies of Women, Gender, and Sexuality at Harvard University), "Cast Out" is a collection drawn from memoirs and interviews by twenty-two leading performers, playwrights, technicians, producers, critics, educators, and influential spectators of theatre over the past half-century. The focus is on the experience and perception of homosexuality in life theatre with the expert and personal contributions of Edward Albee, Kate Bornstein, Richard Bracho, Bree Coven, Terry Galloway, Cherry Jones, Lisa Kron, Craig Lucas, Tim Miller, Cherrie Moraga, Jim Provenzano, Peggy Shaw, George C. Wolfe and so many others. The result is an impressive and seminal contribution to the art, creativity, and social changes of American theatre over the past five decades with respect to the gay community. "Cast Out" is a welcome and impressive contribution to Gay Studies, Theatre History, and America Popular Culture Studies reference collections and supplemental reading lists.

Hugo's hidden novel - 'Cast Up By the Sea' - is in line with his 'Toilers of the Sea', provids an extremely intriguing, unpredictable story, more of his masterful prose, and the delectation of a coastal purview.

I found this to be a very useful guide to thinking about the causes of human behavior. Mohr's affect-object paradigm was especially helpful. A basic message is that we can explain encounters but we cannot predict human behavior with causal laws, since such behavior is a result of probalistic encounters. Suitable for graduate levels of readers interested in human psychology.

The woman's position in history is, yet again, reaffirmed by this excelent author! The mythological connections to literary tradition are provoking:)~ The style is readable, the research fascinating, and the entire work is well worth purchasing!

A heartwarming story of six generations of one family on farm in Michigan. Follow a farm family's dreams and use of technologies from horse powered days to the present. I particularly enjoyed "82 Reasons Why Farming is the Best Way of Life."

Grace Brannigan Witoczynski is a single mom with 4 kids. Mal Quarrels is a a US marshal working undercover who needs to keep an eye on Grace's tenant. Grace is honest, tough, vulnerable, smart, believable. Mal is tough on the outside and good to the bone, totally unflappable ... except when it comes to Grace. The plot ties together pretty well; suspense is a relatively small part of the book but well done. The kids and dogs are well-drawn as well.
My only complaint is that I'm pretty certain that Grace's sister Alice Brannigan and her protective husband Gabriel Book were featured in a previous Ramin book, but I can't seem to find out which one! So I'm searching out the rest of her backlist.

Nithard's Histories are the most important source for the wars amongst the sons of Louis the Pious (Charlemagne's son). For some periods of time after Louis's death this is the ONLY source existent. Nithard, a grandson of Charlemagne, attached himself to the Emperor Louis's son Charles as his official historian. As a result the Chronicle records the wars from Charles's and a Western Francia point of view and advocate the theme that he is to prove that his way of interpretation is correct. However, the amount of information surpasses all contemporary sources. Nithard's source is unique also in respect to the fact that he is not a cleric (as well has the more famous historian of Charlemagne, Einhard).
What stands out in this volume is Scholz's astounding introduction that provides a wonderful background to the time and detailed information about the chroniclers and their chronicles.
