Property Law and Real Estate Books

This text is very well written, comprehensive and extremely informative. It should be noted that the sections on Noise Law are from a UK perspective, examining UK statutes. There is no discussion whatever of US codes.

I just passed the North Carolina Bar Exam and recently begin full time work as licensed attorney! Immediately, I was thrown in to the real estate mix and had to learn real estate law really really quickly. I wish I had this book on day one!

The format is awesome. Instead of being an academic, theoretical book, it is very practical. Designed for a new lawyer or a student, the book pinpoints the essentials of practicing real estate law. The book even comes with checklists and sample documents.

This book is a must have for any real estate attorney in a small firm or just beginning. I definitely recommend it.

I found the book a useful guide for those not familiar with intellectual property law. However it does not provide a good sense of the balance of what is and is not eligle for patenting

Principle of Property Law is designed for the 1st year property law student in Canada. The book's information serves as an excellent, thorough, comprehensive foundation of property law principles for any Canadian law student. Indeed, the principles form much of the curriculum of many first year property law courses. For some property courses, it is a required text. Principles of Property Law is not for the uneducated. Even law students have to struggle with many of the concepts the book explains (who said property law was easy?) Nonetheless, even though some of the subject matter is difficult to comprehend, for the most part, Ziff tries to get the point across as clearly as possible. He is indeed aware of the difficulties posed in understanding the material (after all, he is a professor of law) however, practical examples of how many of the concepts are employed would be more helpful. This would allow the reader solidify the theory. I would suggest incorporating real life examples of how important the concepts and principles are and how they can "come to being" in application. Much of the material is abstract and intangible. By making the material concrete and tangible (something easy to relate to) through by employing real life examples of how the law applies, the book would attract a much wider audience. The book is written for the studious academic (I fit into this category) and I find myself paraphrasing much of the language used in the book.

This is a book for seasoned investors, brokers, and syndicators. It contains several hundred forms and checklists that will make sure you never forget an important element of the buying and selling process. However, it is not a "stand alone" book on real estate investing, but a book designed to accompany other texts on the subject.

This no nonsense, easy to read treatis on R E makes sense of a complicated, to often poorly presented subject. Read it and you won't sound like an idiot any longer. Also; you will make some money and stay out of the legal,soup.

To some Australians, the Mabo case threatened to overturn all that had happened since the British arrived in 1788. But to others, it was a long overdue acknowledgment of historic injustices. The author gives us the background behind Mabo. Chronicling years of effort by Aboriginal activists to assert some residue of native title.

It's not a cheery read. Much is explained of the parlous conditions under which many Aborigines labour; especially those still in rural tribal environments. Still, the account shows how persistent efforts led to a seminal decision by the High Court.

The book does not describe the aftermath. In the few years since it came out, little has changed in the typical Aboriginal condition.

A refreshing and layperson's approach to the ever more complex debate on protecting the environment with property rights and entitlements. This is a solid rhetorical contribution that clarifies arguments for lawyers, economists, anthropologists, scholars and activists alike. It is multicultural and comprehensive enough for readers in the First and in the Third World.

This book gives an insight into the ideas that sustained British Rule in eighteenth and nineteenth century India

There are a lot of interesting and controversial examples of owning nature like beach access and endangered species laws. This book details similar examples of ocean floor ownership, underground water and Donald Trump's struggle for air rights. The book is both philosophical, historical and very relevant in today's increasing developmental mindset. Told with a humorous and environmentally consious tone, Slide Mountain is absurd, yet important and relevant. I am going to use this book in my environmental science (100 level) course to get them thinking!
