Fun facts abound in this picturebook: "Raccoons have a better sense of touch in their front paws than any other meat-eating animal. They use their sensitive paws to search for crabs, crayfish, clams, frogs, and snails in shallow water. When early settlers saw the animals splashing on the edge of marshes they wrongly thought they were washing their food." Highly recommended for children's collections in both school and public libraries.

This is a great resource for planning your trip to Disneyland.

Very informative read for the rides, attractions, places to stay. The worksheets are very helpful as well, to keep the information in one place. I also suggest Birnbaums Guide to accompany this and you have a full and well-rounded set of guides to plan your trip and day-to-day activities.

I also suggest joining some message boards to assist you in your planning. Simply Google or do an internet search of "Disney trip planning message board" and you will have quite a few to choose from. Have fun at the Happiest Place on Earth!

Following a wound suffered while on duty in Iraq, USAF Colonel Andrea "Andi" Armstrong accepts medical retirement as an infection setsin. Not even forty, Andi decides to move to a location where many veterans reside, the Florida Panhandle.

However, to her chagrin the rental she leases is next door to the home of Colonel Dave Armstrong, her former husband. Living near him would be difficult except for one problem, Andi is still attracted to her ex spouse. Dave is ecstatic as he feels he has a second chance to make it with the woman he never stopped loving.

The second chance at love is well written, but it is the look at military life during and after serving that make the tale special. The engrossing story line focuses on the themes of the impact of a married couple both being in the military hurting their relationship and on the impact of retirement at a relatively young age (twenty and double pass means you're out) though in Andi's case it is due to medical reasons. Merline Lovelace is at her best as she uses romance to place a powerful spotlight on life in and after the military.

It is a classic. It does give you a good look at Arachaeological work in the 20's. Tell's you what was found before development destroyed most of it.

This is a great reference book with lots of black and white pictures. We used it everyday on our 21 day production of "The Best Florida Beaches / Waves: Virtual Vacations" DVD here on Amazon. Florida surprisingly has some of the most diverse beaches. From the white clayish sand in Key West to the shelly beaches of Naples up to the spectacular white sands in the Panhandle back down the orange sand beaches of the Atlantic near jacksonville to the white sandy beaches to Miami. Add to that, spectacular yellow & orange sunsets and you'll have a wonderful trip.

I have a few paintings by Robyn Beverland(the Beaver) and when I learned that he was one of the artists in this book I really wanted to see it. I never had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Beverland(unfortunately he is no longer with us)so not only am I glad to read anything about him, but his picture is also included. In fact every artist's picture is in here, along with their art. And all of the photos are both interesting and very respectful. My only complaint is that I wish there was more than just one example of art for each artist, but all in all this is a fabulous book, a nice heartfelt look at some extremely gifted artists.

We were in FL for 7 weeks and to help my 3 year old grandchild better understand where we were I sent this to her. She loved it. Only problem was she kept asking my daughter to help her find Meme (me)!!!

Informative book about FSU football season-by-season from its inception in 1947 into the 1970s. Written by a former FSU histroy professor (and avid fan). Accurately captures the seasonal spirit of optimisim, pessimism, success, and failure as they occured.

Wonderfully nostalgic flash-back for those that lived through the period.
