I purchased this book because we are headed to DC. I figured, why not. . spend the $10 and get maps and details. . . however though there is some useful content, the maps are non-zoomable -- quite useless-- on the kindle and the pictures are NOT optimized for the kindle.

This book may be good on a computer or a mobi-reader. . . but for the kindle. . . it's lousy.

Spend your $10 somewhere else. . . since you can't return a kindle book (from what I can tell)

This book includes dozens of pages of unknown and un-named African Americans taken from photo albumns that may or may not be from DC, and OMITS dozens and even hundreds of important black figures in Washington's history. How the Arcadia editors allowed this to happen is beyond me.

this book is just NOT worth reading at ALL. It focuses too much on small factual stuff...it doesn't give much light on the issue as a whole.
