I got this book when planning a 20th anniversary trip to the Caribbean with my husband. I hadn't been to the Caribbean before and was overwhelmed by the choices. The book helped me narrow down my choice to two wonderful hotels on Grenada, an island I had never thought of visiting. The book's descriptions are vivid and accurate.

Wow - could not put this book down! Having been thru several hurricanes I found this to be realistic, chilling, believable and humorous all in one! After living on Water Island and experiencing the island life I would definitly recommend this to any adult!

Richard Ffrench's book has been the standard text on birds of Trinidad and Tobago for many years. This new edition is taken to a whole new level by the use of superb photos by Trinidad's foremost wildlife photographer, Roger Neckles. it is worth buying for the photos alone.

Analyzes according to inexpensive, moderate, and expensive, which is nice. Also includes section at end on Exceptional Pleasures and Treasures.

I expected a book only about the Anglo-American Caribbean Commission (AACC). This book is much more than just an esoteric essay on some obscure commission, though. The book uses the AACC to explain British-U.S. relations in a much broader sense than the title would indicate. The author ties together a large number of pre-war and post-war issues not only in the United States and Great Britain but in the Caribbean as well, to tell a clear story about the course of Anglo-American relations. This is easily one of the best books about U.S.-British relations I have read.

The research is thorough and the conclusions are solid. This book should be required reading for anyone interested in U.S.-British, U.S.-Caribbean, or British-Caribbean relations.
