This book has given me a deeper insight on one of my favorite verses in the bible. From the book of Isaiah 40:31, "But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint." Oh how I love to wait on the Lord and serve him.
May God forever bless Tommy Tenney for sharing with us what God has poured into his spirit.

This book is what I needed to hear. With tears in my eyes, I read that the frustration I was feeling, that the whole Church is feeling, is because the Church, and myself, are pregnant with the purposes of God. We are in just the right position to receive His anointing (p. 165).

Tommy Tenney has more than bested his earlier blockbuster--The God Chasers. Chasers was a must read book. Catchers is an absolute necessity.

From finding the "key" to the back stairs leading to God's heart, to the revelation that the purpose of worship in church should be to bless God not be a bless-me club for the worshippers, the principles found in the God Chasers position us to catch and retain the next wave of God's blessing.

I've been a Christian for twenty-seven years and hold an earned doctorate in Theology. Yet, upon completing this book, I feel like I am starting afresh on a new level. The truth of the Father in this book has changed me. Don't read this book unless you are willing to be changed.

This book was read front to back at least 3 times so far by me. The first time I read it, I couldn't help but go back and re-read, because I would get lost in prayer and my amazement for God. It is an amazing book, and a must read. I would suggest it to anyone who wants to grow closer to God in a very intimate and human way.

In "The God Chasers," Tommy Tenney told how to become a God chaser the right way and how to get out of a stagnent spiritual life. This book goes to the next level. In "The God Catchers," He tells about exactly what is wrong with worship in today's churches. He also talks about how churches have had the wrong focus and haven't been fulfilling God's intended purpose. He pulls no punches. He tells the truth and lays it all on the line. In fact, religious legalists and those that do church playing by the numbers will have a lot of trouble with this book.
This church should be read by everyone who wants to see their church get back on track. In addition, every single pastor in America should read this book. This will certainly tell you what to do to get your church where God wants it to be and where your focus needs to be. I must warn you though, if you're used to man's ways and a regular organized system and style for having church, this book may rock the boat a bit for you. This book is only for those that are serious about getting their church out of man's will and into God's will. After all, isn't that where we should be anyway?

This book is one that is so full of wisdom, that you need to read it over and over again. I think that this book should be read once a year, just to remind you of how wonderful it is to be a woman, created by God for a purpose. Not only that, the author shows you how to be an even better God Chick, not perfect in the eyes of everyone else, but the best you that you can become. Thank you Holly for showing us that there is a way, and starting us on that path.

These words by Holly Wagner have given me adivce about how to be myself as a individual, a princess, a warrior, a champion, a friend, a lover, a rejoicer, and one to be there for others before myself. I am not one who reads a lot but I have not been able to put this book down and reading on breaks at work, and whenever I have free time, getting through 50 pages in 30 mins was a breeze. This book brings a refreshing view to not only the 23rd Psalm, but life in general. It is one of the best spiritual books I have ever read with a keen sense of informing the reader of how the Christian journey evolves through a lifetime. Mr. Lively does an excellent job of equating personal experiences with the meaning of the 23rd Psalm, and how most of us get it wrong initially but need the shepherd to continually guide us. I highly recommend reading this book.

To read Bob Lively's books to to hear him as he writes as he talks. Although this Psalm has always been a favorite of mine I never studied its meaning, I just merely enjoyed it. This book taught me more about this Psalm than the many sermons I have heard about it. His stories wrapped around this Psalm is worth the money and the time to read it.

I had the priviledge of reading this book before it was published nationally. Before reading it, Psalm 23 was a very familiar verse but had no real meaning for me - more like a comforting Christmas carol than anything applicable to daily life. After reading this book, I developed a whole new dimension in my faith and understanding of God's love for us. Bob Lively takes Psalm 23 line by line and relates it to his own profound experience of discovery. With his humble style and genuine story, he makes Psalm 23 tangible and meaningful. What once was a mysterious prayer is now something personal which guides and strengthens me daily. I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in the concept of grace and experiencing the profound realization that they are loved unconditionally.

The book is directed towards modern "sophisticated" Jews who are looking for compelling reasons to engage more fully in Jewish custom, tradition, and spirituality, and I thought Rabbi Gordis did a superb job at doing so; He not only eloquently and thoughtfully describes in depth the how of Jewish life, but the "why", the meaning behind the customs and traditions, and specifically how incorporating these aspects into life provides a richer, fuller experience. Secular Jews and those considering conversion who are trying to be 'convinved' of 'Why Be Jewish' will not only discover the richness of Judaism, but also those who already convinced, will greatly appreciate this book.

Rabbi Daniel Gordis discusses a way for modern Jews to find spirituality in Judaism. The book provides answers to today's most perplexing questions about life and Judaism. I was particularly impressed with Rabbi Gordis' explanation of the importance of blending ritual, prayer, and mitzvot to live a fulfilling Jewish life. For those with doubts about their connection to G-d and to Judaism should read this book.

Help on the Spiritual Path
Helpful Votes: 6 out of 6 total.
Review Date: 2001-11-06
Rabbi Gordis describes this book as an attempt to answer the question, "Why be Jewish?" But the question he really addresses is, "Can living a traditional Jewish life of study, prayer, ritual and mitzvah lead one to a spiritual life that is meaningful in today's world?" To this question, his answer is a resounding "yes," and he is largely successful in describing how traditional Jewish practices can lead one to the sense of connectedness and commitment -- here equated with spirituality -- often missing in our lives. His approach is largely psychological: study validates our struggles to believe; ritual takes us away from the mundane world; keeping kosher brings an aspect of spiritual discipline into the mundane world. Although this approach has inherent limitations -- the persuasiveness of some of his arguments may lie in the psyche of the individual reader -- it is well-suited to his target audience of people who are already seeking a deeper Jewish spirituality.

If you are looking for a book that demonstrates that the prayer services, rituals, study and observance of the mitzvot really can lead you to a more spiritual life, then you have come to the right place. Rabbi Gordis is eloquent in his belief that traditional Jewish practice can provide spiritual sustenance. If that thought is a sufficient reason for you to "be Jewish," then you will find that Rabbi Gordis has also answered the first question posed above. The problem for me, however, is that Rabbi Gordis does not really address why it should be *Jewish* study, prayer, ritual and discipline that leads one to spirituality. Most of the arguments Rabbi Gordis provides apply equally, at least in general terms, to other religions I have studied. Prayer, ritual, discipline and ethics, in one form or another, are shared by Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Hinduism and Buddhism. Why one should adopt *Jewish* forms of spirituality -- and what sets Jewish forms apart from other religions -- are questions not addressed in this book.

Rabbi Gordis includes a *very* helpful section of "Suggestions for Further Reading," which is arranged by the themes covered in each chapter and provides a brief comment on each of the books, instead of just the usual unadorned list.

Serious modern Jewish thought for the beginner.

Reading R'Abraham Joshua Heschel's meatier works such as God in Search of Man is a significant undertaking - not as tricky as Talmud, but nonetheless, not for the faint of heart. R'Gordis has managed to extract from R'Heschel's works a truly elegant and easy to grasp distillation of most of R'Heschel's most critical works. Nonetheless, this is not the "Cliff's Notes" version of his work. R'Gordis captures the essence of many difficult concepts beginning with the central idea of "God in search of Man". Through this he works illustrative texts from Scripture, Aggadic literature and Talmud to make R'Heschel's work much more accessable to the novice. Having read, at this point, many of R'Heschel's works, I can truly appreciate the thought and care with which R'Gordis has produced this wonderful book.

My only complaint is that R'Gordis opens with a number of theological questions which he implies will be resolved in the course of his book - Not surprisingly, they are not. However, this is a minor quibble as he has plenty of great company in this stretching back over 3000 years.

Getting Back to God's Purpose for Your Life

"God's Big Idea" is a book about the unstoppable power of ideas. Myles Monroe unveils the ideology that is the eternal purpose of the creator for His creation and for humanity on earth. Throughout the book he offers solutions to earthly problems, including: war, terrorism, crime, AIDS epidemics, child abuse, environmental destruction, culture clashes, economic crisis, political and religious corruption, and the culture of fear.

Monroe's writing is strong and articulate, appealing to the intellect and to the practical. His clear powerful gospel message does not espouse religion but emphasizes the plan and purpose of God, His Son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit.

The book is filled with scriptural content which guides the reader into an understanding of the precepts of God's Kingdom. Munroe then opens the way for the individual to "Reclaim God's Original Purpose for their life."

This is a book for everyone desirous of fulfilling their destiny while impacting today's culture for God's Kingdom purposes.

I encourage anyone who's ever given up on trying to understand the Bible, to take the time to read Myles Munroe's "Kingdom" series. Prior to this, it's been all out of context. Like trying to apply the rules of football to a softball game. When I saw Munroe on the Benny Hinn shows, explaning things in layman's language and comparing the ambiguous Kingdom of God...or the pie in the sky concept...to a REAL Kingdom, which is what it is, was & will be; drawing parallels between God's government and Kingdom rulership: "God's Kingdom is not a democracy!" ~ Ureka! It all fell into place. Using the wrong paradigm, nothing about it can make sense. In a Kingdom scenerio, tho...Bingo! It all falls into place. I liked the fact that he drew on the actual scriptures to prove his points...they proved themselves, in that light. I also recommend the NKJV Bible (New King James Version) as well as the Touchpoint Bible, available from some of Amazon's resellers, originally from Guideposts.
It explains each book of the bible in accordance with the time and the events taking place; as well as the people and the parts they played.
Back to Myles Munroe, tho..reading what he has to say, shines the light of illumination, on "the word" as I've never had it explained before. I believe, as another poster said, that he was destined for these times; and, those who take the time, will certainly be blessed, by reading his Kingdom series. Reading God's BIG Idea, is a Great Idea!

We are going thru a time of seeking God's will and direction for our lives. Much of what Dutch said in here we knew, but didn't really Know!
But he explains the Chronos & Kairos times in such a way that it all comes into focus. We know God's timing isn't ours, but when you are in one of those waiting times it's easy to get off point. Thanks Dutch! I have bought 4, and going to order more, copies of this for friends going thru these questioning times also.

Dutch shows us how to learn which season we are in. This is an excellent book, and it can be read in a short time, because it is not a large book.

The phrase "God's timing" is frequently used when events don't turn out as anticipated. Dutch Sheets explains the terms from Scripture based on the original languages. He discusses in length the various kinds of time referred to in different contexts in the Bible. This book encourages Christians by explaining in a clear way what is meant by God's timing and how one can be assured that seasons of waiting are not exclusive of the plan, but an integral part of the process of obtaining victory God's way. I had read other writers refer to Dutch Sheets favorably, but this was my first Dutch Sheets book to read. Now I'm a fan! One can tell he writes from experience, i.e., that he has grown through the seasons of waiting and preparation and how has something of value to say which benefits a large audience. As he writes in this book, victory for one person results in victory for others.

But we know that God is bring us from glory to glory, from strength to strength and from faith to faith all to insure, that we get to the destiny He has for our lives, in His timing not ours.

For those who have followed the Lord for some time and not seen the "suddenly's" anticipated; this book expalains that God has ways to bring you to them but that His purpose is not only the event but the transformation along the journey. He explains there is a time between the call of Abraham and the provision of the promise that Abraham would be the Father of a multitude. Excellent transferrence without excessive verbage.

The Law is good BUT it is powerless to change us into its demands

This is an outstanding book for understanding a theology of grace and its implications for how we treat other people.

Zahl's section on anthropology, setting up his soteriology, is insightful. His argument for the "unfree will" is compelling as he makes us look hard at the realities of addictions, anger, depression, losing weight, etc. To tell someone to have a positive attitude when they are struggling with depression is inhumane. The Gospel is not about us pulling ourselves up by our bootstraps. It is about Someone loving us when we are stuck, powerless and without hope.

Summary: Grace is One Way Love. Law is Two Way Love. The Law is good because it reveals God's standard. BUT the law is powerless to change us into those demands. Only Grace can do this. Christ loved us while we were yet sinners. May we learn to treat others the same way.

Breathing Fresh Air Again!

On the messy world of contemporary American Evangelicalism, filled with moralistic would-be theologies and sermons about "5 ways to improve your life," "8 ways to be a man of integrity," "5 Pervasive Paths to Prayer"(all beginning with the letter 'P'), and "31 ways to be a Proverbs 31 woman," a light has dawned!

Paul Zahl's book, "Grace in Practice," breathes fresh air into the lungs of any burned-out (or soon to be burned out) Christian. Tossing out the tired, moralistic approaches to Christianity that are popular but which bury the true message of the faith (the Vox Ipsissimi Christianismi), Zahl goes back to the basics of the Christian Gospel--namely, Christ's unmeritted, one-way love to sinners (including Christian sinners).

Zahl stresses the early Reformational insights of distinguishing Law and Gospel, Low Anthropology and High Christology, Judgment and Love. His understanding (which is not his alone, but is a largely-forgotten treasure shared by Augustine, Luther, Calvin, and Cranmer) that Grace actually produces what the Law commands is life-changing.

Anyone, especially any clergy person who is in need of the refreshing truth of God's Grace, which trumps all other messages, needs to look no further than "Grace in Practice." This book, which concretizes God's grace in all aspects of life (and is chuck-full of great movie quotes!) will hopefully shake-up and shake-off the toxic and widespread moralism of current American Christianity.

When a book gets positive endorsements from both Ligon Duncan, conservative PCA pastor, and Peter Gomes, openly gay theologian at Harvard Divinity school, you know that you are holding an anomaly.

This book is about all about grace. How does grace relate to Law and to other fundamental Christian doctrines? Zahl argues for an expansive view of grace in all areas of life - family, society, and the church. He writes in a lively conversational tone, and sprinkles in a lot of references to popular culture. This book is not dull, and the author was not afraid to hit hard, challenging me on several fronts.

However, there are points of disagreement. For example, in speaking about "Grace in the pulpit", he says, "Sermons should be brief... a minimum of ten minutes and a maximum of twenty. This has everything to do with the humility and the grace-full deference of the preacher." Ligon Duncan, one of my favorite preachers, will speak for an hour on biblical doctrines (like grace) out of the conviction that the hearing of the Word of God preached is a fundamental mark of a biblical church. And when he does so, people leave wishing that he could have preached longer.

So, this book sits as an anomaly. I would suggest it to some who are up for the challenge, but for most people I would recommend other books if they are looking to go deep in their study of grace.

Paul Zahl writes triumphantly of the more-than conquering grace that flows from God in his unconditional "one-way" love. Zahl effectively defines grace and, more importantly, shows us how to experience and give grace in all areas of our lives. In effect, "Grace in Practice" is a life-changing book, as it will provide all that is needed to make all of your relationships "grace-full."

Zahl begins the book by writing extensively about the reality of grace and its conflict with law and judgment. This explanation of grace lays a firm foundation upon which Zahl builds the remaining two-thirds of the book. In Zahl's theology, there is a war between grace and law, and grace is man's only hope through which all blessings flow.

This is NOT a book only for theologians and "professional" Christians. As Zahl explains, the "focus is on everyday life..on how Christianity works...an attempt to bring the gospel of law and grace into direct encounter with the real and tangible stress of living a life within the swooning, human world."

Zahl reveals his uncanny gift of knowing the pulse of the church and the culture. In that gift, he stands alone among writers I have read as someone who relates the mysteries of Christ to matters of everyday life.

His chapter on "Grace in Families" has the insights to improve all of your relationships more than any "relationship" or "marriage" book I have yet read. "Grace in Church" shows the level of learning from experience that Zahl has garnered from over 30 years in ministry. These sections will open the eyes of ministers from all areas and ages.

"Grace in Society" and "Grace in Everything" round out the above sections. If there is any weakness in this profound exhortation to grace it is in the "Grace in Society" section, as I think Zahl leaves some important matters unaddressed in relation to dealing with criminals and terrorist states. In all others areas, his writings of grace are fully applicable and practical; however, in dealing with criminals and aggressive states, the practical application is lacking.

There are few writers or theologians who can effectively balance such writing with quotes from famed theologians along side quotes of vignettes from South Park, Hollywood or the like of The Beatles and Stephen King. Zahl pulls it off masterfully. All sorts of readers will be able to find answers to life's biggest questions and challenges in this book and will find it enjoyable and a pleasure to read.

I came across this book back in early 2002, and since my best friend had the Sabiston and we were on a budget, i bought this one. This is deffinetly the best and the most complete book i could have bought on general surgery. It takes you from anatomy trough physiology in each pathology you read upon. Would recomend it to anybody, either finishing medschool, or starting your residency in General Surgery.

I happened to pass through this most wounderful book by mistake, but when I read through it,Ii felt really sorry for not depending on it as an additional but essential referrence during my college and postgraduate years, the chapters are well organized and deeply written easily read, the illustrations are very clear and informative, although I might suggest a second more expanded chapter on infections being one of the most serious sergical enemies infections. ..I really want to thank the editors and contributors for the enormous effort they have put here and all the knowledge I found in this great book.

J. I. Packer, an Anglican priest and professor, and Carolyn Nystrom, a seasoned (Presbyterian) author of Bible studies and Christian analysis, set out to demystify the puzzle of trying to "find God's will for my life." They address a fear they sense among conservatives: that despite one's best efforts, one might fail to find --- one might miss out on --- God's personal best. Packer and Nystrom propose that the fear is a remnant of the 19th-century Second Great Awakening. I wonder if it can be more immediately linked to a phrase buried in a sentence heard and memorized by a graying generation: "God loves you and has a wonderful plan for your life." Did we miss some kind of wonderful?

As implied by the jacket --- a shepherd's staff superimposed and looming over a bucolic scene --- the loose overarching framework of the book is Psalm 23. If the Lord is our shepherd, as both the Old and New Testaments affirm, he is leading us --- guarding us, guiding us --- in a trustworthy manner.

Much of the book discusses living the daily Christian walk, by biblical counsel and command, and discerning what is good and right. But one chapter delves specifically into vocational issues or "decisions that we expect to be life-shaping hinge-points on which we think our future will turn." They continue, "We hope that what we have to say will go some way to relieving the tension and anxiety that the making of such decisions can bring."

This is not a light read. Personal, historical and biblical anecdotes supplement the authors' points, which are clearly introduced and well outlined. But the sentences themselves require one's full attention. For example, early in the book the authors summarize "the shape" (as opposed to the "scope" or the "specifics") of guidance: "The regular shape of guidance is that God teaches us to apply revealed principles of action, both positive and negative; to observe parameters and limits of behavior that the Bible lays down; and thus to follow the path of faithful obedience and true wisdom, in fellowship with the Lord our shepherd who by his Spirit leads us to do so."

The last chapter of the book focuses on the role of the Holy Spirit and discusses the pitfalls of both undervaluing and overvaluing "God's gift of reason." This chapter is worth waiting for and takes the reader beyond a biblical wisdom and reason and godly counsel model.

Speaking of godly counsel, book lovers will be happy to note that Packer and Nystrom espouse not only having Christian role models to imitate; they also claim that "the habit of reading Christian biography, as well as Scripture, is as much to be encouraged as is the habit of associating with the liveliest and ripest Christians that we know."

Some 10 study questions (for each of 11 chapters) supplement the text, making the book a great candidate for serious topical Bible study.

Looking for spiritual guidance in matters of love, life and the universe is no easy task. How do we search for God's guidance? How do we uncover what God has planned for us? Are we making decisions based on His will? For many, a relationship with God brings comfort and direction to what can be a challenging life. For others, the lack of a relationship with God stymies their decision-making and may hold them back from living life to the fullest.

J. I. Packer and Carolyn Nystrom answer these fears with Guard Us, Guide Us. They provide essential understanding to what "God's guidance" represents to Christians. Those seeking a deeper and more meaningful understanding as to how God does indeed guard and guide us will enjoy this inspiring and somewhat devotional book.

Packer, an evangelical theologian, and Nystrom, a freelance writer, collaborate to reveal traditional misconceptions of God's guidance, ideas that promote fear and discouragement among many Christians.

Packer and Nystrom proceed with a "where you are now" snapshot of spiritual health-without this analysis, it is difficult to get a feel of what spiritual guidance could provide in a Christian's life. They discuss God's teachings and commandments in scripture and apply spiritual wisdom to real-life scenarios. Guard Us, Guide Us is a thought account of how to deepen our knowledge of spiritual reflection and build our efforts at effective decision making for life's small (and not so small) challenges.

Guide Us, Guard Us is a practical, scripture-based approach to viewing God's guidance. The authors uses Psalm 23 as a foundation for our quest of following God.

I usually find J.I. Packer a bit hard to read as he's usually very intense, but his collaboration with Caroyln Nystrom was a wonderful idea as she helps to get his point across in a very readable manner.

As an added bonus, the questions included make this book easy to use in a group setting.

If you are seeking God's direction in your life, this is a good book to read.

This will become a classic book on guidance.

I received this book as a recommendation from Amazon, since I have enjoyed J.I. Packer's books, as well as books by Dallas Willard and Larry Crabb in this genre.

This book is the clearest, most scripturally-based and complete treatment of this topic I have read. Starting with the need to deal with fear, the author(s) (the book was co-written with Carolyn Nystrom) use Psalm 23 as a template for divine guidance and its special treatment of our need to discard fear as a driver for our actions.

The suthors then go through the respective roles of God's Word, God's wisdom (in that regard), the counsel of friends, the problems presented by a situational ethics view for guidance, the role of the Holy Spirit and an excellent summation.

If you have read Packer, you know he likes to "pack the ideas tight", so it isn't a fast read, but it isn't like C.S. Lewis's "Miracles" either. I believe Carolyn Nystrom was instrumental in spacing the ideas out a bit so it was easier to assimilate. There are also some great questions at the end of the book so you can use the book in a group setting.

Strongly recommend this book to anyone who is seeking God's guidance as they make decisions in their lives.

Packer and Nystrom present the church with a fresh formulation of divine spiritual direction.

Here is a new book written by two authors who construct beautiful sentences and well-crafted chapters in order to teach Christians how it is that God communicates His will to us.

This book is not short, skimpy, or sparing. It is more than just simple principles, and yet in many ways it arises from a simple (and Scriptural) formulaic understanding of divine guidance. In fact, I often felt I was reading an expanded and prosaic version of John MacArthur's straightforward "Found: God's Will" booklet (with 5 principles I can still remember twenty years later).

The basic thrust of the book is to put "an end to fear"- the fear found in the heart of a believer over what God's will is for their life. The authors combat false understandings, "some tangled tales" that hamper freedom and joy in the life of a believer who doubts whether they really can know God's will. Furthermore, the authors seek to combat the notion that one bad mistake along the journey will inevitably thwart any future attempt to be found in God's will.

They begin and end with Psalm 23 theology, establishing the "guard" and "guide" verbs of love flowing from the good shepherd to his sheep. They also show how the Word of God provides light and understanding, and how we are to obey the divine text as being the very will of God, for that it is what it is.

The vital foundation for hearing and following God's will is to be walking in overall spiritual health and vitality. This means holiness and purity and a heart desire to glorify God and obey Him. Without this commitment, a professing Christian has no reason to expect their sickly spiritual life will have ears and mind and heart to properly hear from God.

Packer and Nystrom present the church with a fresh formulation of divine spiritual direction. I am sure that additional reading and meditation will yield even more spiritual profit from their words. I can see this book being very useful for late high school and college students.

Geshe Kelsang Gyatso has written the first complete explanation of the Highest Yoga Tantra practice of Vajrayogini, the female Buddha of wisdom. These precious instructions are the most profound teachings of Highest Yoga Tantra and are the supreme method for purifying our environment, body, and mind.

Geshe Kelsang gives detailed instructions on the eleven yogas of generation stage, which provide us with a special method for transforming all our daily activities into the spiritual path. In Guide to Dakini Land he also clearly explains the completion stage practices of Vajrayogini practice, which lead us to full enlightenment.

There is no other book out there that describes the visualizations, practices, and methods with such clarity and depth. This book contains everything a Vajrayogini practioner needs to embark upon and complete the path to enlightenment. I feel so fortunate to have this book as a resource. I recommend it to all Vajrayogini practitioners who have the wish to deepen their experience of generation stage and completion stage. Geshe Kelsang Gyatso also provides a wealth of information on how to do a qualified Tantric retreat and how to build a strong foundation based upon Buddha's Sutra teachings, so our minds are well-prepared for Tantric initiations and subsequent practice.

This is a must 'do' practice resource manual for followers of Vajrayogini. Clearly written but only fully received when one delves deeply into the practice ~ head readers only will soon tire of this book. Wonderfully detailed yogas of the 11 stages are broken into detailed Rituals that can be worked at one's own pace. Gyatso, no doubt, with this book has singlehandedly exploded out previously secret Tibetan esoteric knowledge in an accessible format for many grateful western readers.

This highly specialised book would be of no benefit to browsers merely curious about Tibetan Tantra. It is an invaluable source for one already initiated into the highest yoga tantra of Vajra Yogini, particularly any novice seeking an extra commentary. It is clearly written, incisive and extensive. It deals sequentially with the yogas, retreats and rites associated with the principal sadhana of Pabongka and has informative relevant information on ritual objects and gestures as well as clear line drawings of traditional figures.
