I remember this book fondly from my childhood. It is simply written, beautifully illustrated and guaranteed to stimulate the imaginations of any small child who reads it. I myself spent many hours speculating on what other items that I had personally lost that might be in the 'Attic'. I regret that it is out of print. My personal copy is too tattered (and treasured) to give as a gift, but there are two young people in my life who will be old enough to appreciate it very soon.

Great book for kids through 5th grade. It's a perennial favorite in our school library. Nice photos and simple text give a fine introduction to Australia. There are other titles in the series - all are equally good.

What a great idea -- this book is invaluable for those of use who are already interested in small press poetry, as well as those just learning about this fascinating subject. It helps to locate unusual or little-known poets.It shows that even in the age of Google, sometimes you need a scholarly reference prepared by a specialist in the field. I recommend it and make sure your libary has one as well.

"Awesome" is the only word I know to describe this book. The book I read is called Number the Stars.It is by Lois Lowry. In this book the main character, Annemarie is faced with several challenges. This story takes place in Denmark during times of war. The main point in this book is Annemaire willing to help her best friend. The events in this book are linked by the end of each chapter you are left with questions that make you want to keep reading. I enjoyed this book, now normally I hate reading, but when I started reading I couldn't put it down. I disliked this book because it left me to make up my own ending. I recommend this book to people who enjoy reading about suspence or friends.

I loved this book i was going to be an aunt at age 11 and i was going to be the babysitter and this book got me through it!

i first read this book when it came out in 1996 and i can say now 4 years later, that it is still my favorite book. It has just the right mix of imagery and descriptive language. THe book has various different erotic stories that make you tingle. When i first picked up the book i had no idea that what i was reading was pornographic, but none the less i kept on reading. and i read it over and over and over until the cover fell off. this book was well written by miss.g.

I have the hard cover of this book. It was really interesting and enjoyable.

If you believe that Newsweek, ABC News, and (yes) National Public Radio are good ways to stay on top of things, skip this and buy a book by Al Gore. If, on the other hand, you would like to read a remarkable journal, you've arrived. The Baffler has no corporate advertising, is well-edited (thank god), and offers scintilating critiques of the mass media/corporate/industrial/advertising/idea makers. I sound like an ad for the Baffler: it never sounds like an ad for anything. It's a great read every time and marvelous brain tool to pick locks with.
