Want a bra that actually fits and is comfortable - read this book!

I saw the author on the Tyra Banks show and was amazed at the information she revealed. The book gives various guides. The guide which helped me involved selecting a shirt/blouse size which indicates the correct band size (a size smaller for me - evidently I have a small frame and large bust) and then the guide told me to go up a cup size and to go down a band size. Seems most of us wear our bras too loose. Just wearing a bra tighter is not the answer either. Please get the book. It is a great guide. There is information for all bust sizes. Generally, she says smaller busted women are wearing too small a bra - and she tells the reasons and the size required. At her web site is a locator for stores that have a professional bra fitter. I live 90 miles from Tucson, Az and there are a couple of stores that have Pro bra fitters. All I needed was the book. Keep in mind that bras vary by Brand and design.

The author mentions that sometimes bras need to be altered. My daughter has done that for years, but through this book she discovered that she had chosen the wrong place to do the alteration.

Really, Gals, This is a terrific little book. Only a few pages with large print but it SAYS enough to aid all of us who wear bras. Takes about an hour to read. Thanks again to the Tyra Show for being informative.

Love the book, love the store, love Susan, love everything

Reading Bra Talk was just icing on the Susan Nethero cake. It was a quick and easy read that gives basic (but necessary) facts about bras from appropriately choosing your cup size to busting bra myths. I love the book, but I love Intimacy (her store) even more. I've been a personal customer of Susan Nethero for several years and not only do I trust her touch as a bra fitter, but everything I've ever bought from her are my favorites in my underwear drawer. She, her staff and her merchandise help people understand that having a bra that fits and sexy lingerie isn't about sex, it's about feeling beautiful!!
Oprah or no Oprah, Susan Nethero is MY bra lady for life!

I WENT TO THE CHICAGO STORE AFTER SEEING SUSAN NETHERO ON OPRAH SHOW, MY BRA FITTING WAS AMAZING. I HAVE NEVER FELT MORE CONFIDENT IN MY BODY. I WAS GIVEN THE BOOK AS A GRAND OPENING GIFT, AND IT WAS VERY ENLIGHTENING. WHO KNEW SO MANY WOMAN LIKE MYSELF ARE CLUELESS WHEN IT COMES TO THEIR BRAS! This book was awesome! I know all my friend's first kiss, birthdays, but not their breast stories. This book encourages reader's to think about and discuss with their friends how their breasts - from development on - have affected them - other's reactions to them. It was funny, insightful, what you come away with is that the "perfect breasts" we've been fantasizing about since childhood - nobody has them. Tell your breast stories!!

I got this book to develop a conscious awareness of our culture's unconscious attitudes about breasts, and the effect this has on women.

Maybe I have an unusual viewpoint: a man from a sexually repressed family with lots of double standards. I sometimes objectified women, or tried to view them as asexual. Either way it creates a warped relationship. This book is helping me to develop a new attitude toward breasts and the women who bear them.

I purchased this book thinking I would get some good ideas for updos. A good style book is in the same price range. What I got were some great updo ideas with very good technichals and a whole lot more. The book tells you exactly how to go about setting up a bridal department in your salon. Or if you don't want a whole department there is a lot of good information on servicing the bridal client. There is good help for pricing structures, scheduling the bride, selling services, make-up, networking with others who serve the bride, even making head pieces for the bride and/or her party. Much of what the book has to offer is good for business even if you never serve the bride. The best money I've spent for a professional book yet. And I've been in business for 15 years.

To Stasi and John,I started to read your book on Thrusday,July17th.I have not been able to put it down. I just finished a work shop on self improvement, which bought out a lot of which you have written on abandonment, that's me.I've been freed, thanks to the work shop, thru the working of the Holy Spirit I feel such a release. I think ,act, and speak all in a new way. I have recommended your book to friends of mine. This book is as the youth say, "off the hook, or off the chain".
Now I would like to read the book for men so I can get a better understanding of men.
Thank you again,
Laverne Albuoy.

Great book! Gives good detail on what to expect from different procedures and a ballpark figure as far as cost is concerned. The book gives the up side and down side to procedures and provides very accurate information on which to make an informed decision. I would highly recommend anyone thinking about a cosmetic fix to read this book first!

This book has the simple to read feel that a non-clinician needs but with all the detail you would ever want to make an informed decision about plastic surgery. The drawings and pictures make it more accessible to those of us without MDs after our names. It is clear that lots of people are unhappy with their bodies, and Dr. Copeland makes no bones about legitimizing those complaints. It's refreshing to finally read that it's OK to take that extra step in order to feel good about yourself.

Will change the way you think about clothes
Helpful Votes: 3 out of 3 total.
Review Date: 2003-05-29
Jennifer Robin encourages us to consider our clothes as a means of expressing who we are. She also reminds us to consider what types of clothing we really need -- buying something just because it fits, just because it's a good price, or just because it's pretty are all bad practices, because we won't be happy in the garment, won't wear it, and therefore will have wasted our money, despite our good intentions!

As a larger-sized woman, Jennifer Robin gave me hope that I, too, can have great clothes that fit, as well as the determination to settle for nothing less. _Clothe Your Spirit_ is on my short list of life-changing books!

Refreshing and fun!

I really enjoyed this book. I have a large collection of style books, and Clothe Your Spirit is among the very best. The author's approach zeroes in on what is truly unique about each one of us in a way that invites real self-discovery. The process is exciting and satisfying. Although this is an older book and the photos are now dated, the concepts remain fresh and easy to apply to one's own wardrobe. I found the book well-written, sensitive, and honest, all of which are unusual among style books. I wish this author would write more books on this subject!

A fun guide to finding your own style

I've never seen another wardrobe book like this (and I love wardrobe books). Robin starts with your personality instead of your figure, and helps you find clothes that really suit you. You work out a few adjectives that can describe you and the clothes you want (e.g. Patty is "intense, warm, and rooted" -- Gloria is "classic, gentle, glowing and sunny"). The before-and-afters are great. Some of the afters are a bit, ahh, different, but that's part of the fun. All in all, a real pleasure.

Idiot's Guide to Looking Great for Teens is an invaluable book that's filled to the top with useful information about nutrition, eating a healthy and balanced diet, what vitamins and minerals are good for you and in which foods they are mostly found, fitness, gyms, home gyms, playing on a sports team, dealing with zits, horomones, stress, image, keeping your skin and hair healthy, etc-- it's basically a detailed and extremely informative guide to staying healthy and fit during your teen years. It's fun to read and the author uses an engaging, "you can do it" tone, and if you're interested in learning more about staying healthy and fit, it never gets boring. As a 13 year old, I love this book and think it's absolutely fantastic. It's hard to find information that's this detailed in any magazine, and it's by far one of the most informative books I've ever read. It's definately a great book for teens, and I highly recommend it.

It helps to remind us all of what it is like to be a teen and the challenges of being a female teenager in this day and age. This book also makes a perfect gift. Buy it and you won't be sorry.

By far this book has the latest information on color analysis and image. As a Color Consultant and Image Consultant, I have used this book and its theory on all my clients. I have also recommended this book for each of my clients as a manual that they can refer to over and over again. This book is inspiring and very informative, with lots of pictures of before and afters. The book is sectioned for each category, such as make-up, color analysis, wardrobe recommendations, and hair-styles. Mary Spillane's best book so far! Every woman should have this book!
