News and Media Books

This book is an update of the 1991 edition and is intended to present resources for use by professional media concerned with accurately reporting the issues and concerns of Native Americans. A group of six essays is followed by a media reference guide of Indian Nations, Federal Indian Agencies, National Indian Organizations and a glossary of terms and questions that will be of particular interests to journalists writing about American Indians.

This is a fabulous and compelling study of the complex relation between technology and modern religious faith. The book crosses multiple disciplines including media studies, religious studies, and sociology. If you are interested in understanding the development of American Protestantism in the 20th century this book is for you. It is well written and suitable for undergraduates, graduate students, and the general reader. Probably the best book on American religion that I have read.

Fue un libro fascinante de principio a fin. El autor Plinio Apuleyo Mendoza una vez más demuestra su excelente estilo, manteniendo al lector constantemente interesado. Expone como sus vivencias han ido cambiando su forma de pensar, especialmente su filosofía política ya que en su juventud fue un fiel defensor de la filosofía marxista. Una vez más, da su opinión muy personal de lo que son los régimenes totalitarios, al igual que en "Fabricantes de Miseria". Describe maravillosamente lo que es una verdadera amistad, como la que García Márquez y él comparten. Su narración tiene ese único estilo que transporta al lector, en este caso a todos esos lugares compartidos por estos dos grandes amigos a través de sus vidas. La lectura no sólo me demostró la habilidad del ilustre autor, sino que también reafirmó mi gran admiración por el inigualable, García Márquez.

This is a wonderful book! I bought the video from Borders, (39.99) and I LOVED it! Of course, to follow up, I had to but the book. There are two versions of this book, the telivision companion, which I prefer since it has better pictures, and more pictures in color. Stella Tillyard did a fabulous job of writing this book! This edition, has pictures from the video series, and contains the text telling the stories of the Lennox sisters, their passions, deceptions and timless love for one another. I can't get enough of this book! If you have not seen this video, buy it! I promise you will watch it again and again! The costumes are fabulous, and the actors LOOK like the real people! "Arthur and the Nerves of Steal" is another great novelization of the show. In this book, Stephen Krensky successfully adapts a rather dodgy story about Buster stealing something called a "CyberToy."

Buster wants the toy so badly that he drops into Arthur's backpack when no one is looking. He then becomes paranoid and faces a moral dilemma as to what to do with it. As things grow worse, it seems there's only one choice.

Krensky once again adds in new details and dialogue, as well as great pictures. Another fine addition to the series.

I read Articles: What's News Is News; and we have added this book to our book club. It is truely one of the most unique works ever written and I HIGHLY recommend it to anyone who travels alot; anyone who is part of a book club; all libraries; all schools, colleges, etc. This book is packed with all kinds of knowledge on EVERYTHING! EVERYTHING! Whatever you want to know, it's there! I enjoyed the author's candidness; I enjoyed the author's wit; I enjoyed the variety of this work. THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING LIKE IT ON THE MARKET. The author's genious shines through ENORMOUSLY. Whoever buys this book, is going to be MORE than surprised; and I beleive that this book will be the talk of the year.
