This is one of the best non-fiction books I have ever read. Ms. Abadie present a still relatively unaccepted aspect of all our lives astutely, especially by including an understanding of physics and how they help explain these "phenomena". Not to diminish her own abilitites but one should note Ms. Abadie also collaborated with the emminent Joseph Campbell on "The Mythic Image". I most highly recommend this book-- it maps the future evolution of our civilisation.

This book is good for a beginner just getting interested in psychic abilities. Very informative without confusion. You don't have to begin a deep spiritual career in order to get the effects you want.

101 Things Everyone Should Know About The Bible: Essential Teachings And Principles from the Old And New Testament

The palm-sized "Everything Bible Book"
Helpful Votes: 8 out of 8 total.
Review Date: 2007-02-18
Trigilio and Brighenti's "101 Things" is an abbreviation of their successful "Everything Bible Book." With this new palm-sized volume, they've broken down the core teachings of the book into several-hundred-word mini-essays with titles like "Who wrote the Bible?", "How does inspiration take place?", and -- my favorite -- "Who was Rudolph Bultmann?" The answers the authors provide are clear, concise, and orthodox. Although it is not a Bible study per se, time spent with this book will provide additional context and understanding for the reading of Scripture. Written at a Readers' Digest level of sophistication, "101 Things" is suitable for high school students and adults. The only drawback is the translation the authors were forced to use by the publisher: the inelegant New International Version.

I loved this book and passed it on to my husband to read because even if your toddler is screaming in your ear and trying to climb onto the dinning room table the storries are short and funny. The book has 365 pages with each page containing a few paragrapsh with a helpful tip. It is one of the most practical and humerous parenting books i have ever read. Plus its lay out makes it very easy to pick up read a page or 2 put down remove the cat from your toddler and pick it back up in a few minutes.

They weren't supposed to be her babies

Review Date: 2001-08-31
When Holly and Bret opted for a three-day vacation, Stephanie Yarbourough declined to accompany them. Stephanie was looking forward to giving her best friend these surrogate children. Then her friends died, leaving her nine months pregnant with their babies. Things only get worse when she leaves a pharmacy to see bad boy Sebastian Caine in the parking lot. He'd left town seven years ago, taking her heart with him.

When a parking lot accident brings on labor, Sebastian rushes to Stephanie's aid. An obstetrician, Sebastian delivers her twins in the back of someone's van. Crisis brings resurgence of old feelings as he struggles against the thoughts of the father of the twins. As he rides with the new mother and babies to the hospital, Sebastian finds himself longing for what he lost, little suspecting the truth behind Stephanie's pregnancy. Unfortunately, their past continues to rise up to interfere with their tentative conversations, revealing the depth of the conflict still between them. As he learns more about Stephanie's current situation, however, Sebastian feels compelled to drop in and help. But the question remains if his efforts are enough to make up for seven years and a painful breach of trust.

A tremendously fun beginning makes AN ABUNDANCE OF BABIES by Marie Ferrarella a delightful read. The improbability of old lives reuniting in a parking lot over the birth of twins springs to believable reality in this talented author's hands. Birthing has never been so humorous as this author makes it. And the emotional growth and changes on the part of these marvelous characters as they learn to forget the past and to create a future makes AN ABUNDANCE OF BABIES a must read. Very highly recommended.

Insightful essays on the Almost Free Press
Helpful Votes: 3 out of 4 total.
Review Date: 2005-12-21
This is a serious collection of 10 academic essays about Al Jazeera, the 24-hour Arabic satellite-broadcasting network. In a sentence, Al Jazeera has transformed the way Arab nations get their news. The essays, edited by Mohammed Zayani, explain how the network and its state sponsor, Qatar, have created political and media turmoil of a scope well beyond the size of the network or the nation. The essays cover the network's history, Arab journalism, the role of women, the war in Afghanistan, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and how the network has affected the media and governments of other Arab nations. The writers explain how other Arab states and the West perceive this new media outlet and its coverage. An outstanding essay by Faisal Al Kasim, the host of a popular Al Jazeera show, 'The Opposite Direction,' gives some powerful reasons why the network is a threat to other Arab nations. Basically, he writes about the power of a free press and how it could transform traditional secular Arab culture. Of course, to U.S. eyes, Al Jazeera often seems polemic, biased and political, but according to these essays, it is by far the freest media outlet in any Arab country. We recommend this book to anyone seriously interested in the Middle East, broadcasting or the impact of technology on shaping public opinion.
