Vivid, life-like pictures of all sorts of things farm animals and equiptment. With pictures as diverse as tractors to baby chicks, children will find something in which they can relate. I use these cards in a classroom of 3 to 6 year olds for vocabulary enhancement for the younger children and story starters, handwriting, and reading practice for the older children. I have had these cards for years and they have always been a favorite in the classroom.

This set has cards with a colorful picture on one side and the word on the other. You can point to each picture and say the word, then encourage your child to read the words on their own. You can play fun games with the cards, by laying them out and saying a word. Then, your child has to find the card.

The words in this pack are words like: kitten, duck, mouse, horse, etc. This pack will help children recognize words and should be used along with the Phonics Cards.

As a young child this story was read to me several times. Now as an adult I find this story to be just as good. As an expectant parent I belive that I will be reading Maj Lindman's writings to my children on a regular basis. The children Flicka, Ricka, and Dicka are very helpful children in all of the books. In this particular book they help Aunt Lotta. She longs to go visit her sister but can not find anyone to take care of her 6 hens and rooster. The children ask their father and they work it out so that Aunt Lotta can visit her sister. I recommend that if you enjoy this book you look into the other Flicka, Ricka, and Dicka books. Maj Lindman also wrote many stories about three boys, named Snipp, Snapp, and Snurr. I recommend all of theese books if you liked Flicka, Ricka, Dicka and the big red hen.

I originally bought this book as an antidote to the princess stories my 3 and 5 year old nieces were choosing to buy. It took some convincing but after a couple of princess stories they let me read it to them. It is now one of their favorites and they request it all the time. There is just the right mix of comfort, suspense and excitement for young children. They love it and I'm relieved to be reading something besides stories of pink ponies and princesses.

Excellent study on walking in an attitude of prayer with Christ and in 3 different types of prayerwalking - devotional, intentional & incidental. Includes good explanation of all 3 types and focuses on our relationship with Christ and the world around us.

"Follow Me" is a book to follow not just read. It is easy to understand with a simple format. You not only will learn about prayerwalking, but you will be prayerwalking as an individual and as a part of a group. You will learn to spend time with God at the beginning of your day and end your day with God.

On one of the personal prayerwalks you were suppose to ask God where to go and be prepared to speak a word of encouragement or hope to someone if given the opportunity. This day happened when we were leaving for Labor Day weekend to Panama City. In getting ready for this mini vacation and going to meetings I didn't have the time to do this personal prayerwalk. I told God this was not going to work that I had to do this personal prayerwalk before continuing to the next day's prayerwalk. During our trip I was walking on the boardwalk with our youngest. I was silently prayerwalking. While I was prayerwalking we meet a young family that asked if we would take their picture. When I gave them their camera back I asked if there was anything I could pray about for them. The parents began to share with me that they were on their vacation and their youngest was sick. They were trying to contact their doctor to get medicine for him. I was able to share when our youngest was sick on our vacation the year before and how he had gotten well. I was able to encourage them and offer hope through that story along with them knowing I would pray for them. I've since learned to ask if I may pray right then too.

As a result of doing this book prayerwalking has become a lifestyle for me. Since learning to prayerwalk though this book I've had many opportunities to teach both individuals and groups to prayerwalk. I have prayerwalked in many places I could of never imagined.

I had learned through "Follow Me" that prayerwalking prepares the way for what God wants to do. I can testify to this. In time through prayerwalking the doors were open for a ministry to began in a Mobile Home Park where my husband and I now serve.

I highly recommend this book to individuals, groups, and churches. You will never see the world in the same way again after doing this book and becoming a prayerwalker.

Love this cook book. I think all the books in the W-S Lifestyles cook books are great. They give pretty instructions on making each main course and then suggest which vegetables to serve it with and which wines would compliment those foods. So, your dinner turns out fantastic. Good job, W-S. I can't wait to buy more books from this collection.

Mary offers a common-sense approach to raising healthy kids in a not-so-healthy world. This book was very educational and easy to understand. Her tips for putting healthful habits into family life was extremely helpful and practical! I highly recommend it!

Friesz (who is also a Certified Diabetes Educator and a Certified Exercise Instructor) is a comprehensive, "parent friendly" guide to teaching children good eating habits, the value of nutrition, and the incorporation of fitness into daily life as a basic family value. The whole series is like no other I have read, and probably will read. It is one of my favourite books and illustrates beautifully a type of life most of us will never experience...

A wonderful final installment. Once I started reading, I couldn't put it down. I look forward to Jodi Lynn's next book.

The story in this book is really funny. Nordqvist describes how the old man and his cat takes on fox hunting. Their neighbour wants to shoot the fox, but Festus and Mercury would rather like to scare it far away. They succeed in this - and also scares off their neighbour and his gun. Great drawings!!!! Look for the small details in the pictures!!!

My 3 children, my husband and I have read and reread this book countless times, and even the adult fraction has enjoyed it every time. This is a rare event! An old man living by himself in a farmhouse with his cat, his hens, and a selection of strange tiny creatures, well, if that sounds less than interesting, try to find the book and you'll see! The story of how the old man and his cat scare off the fox (and, incidentally, their neighbor with his gun)is imaginative, funny and very charming, and just the right length for at bed-time story. And the illustrations are unique: beautiful and full of surprising, sometimes absurd, details that make the children laugh, and you too. I strongly recommend this book, as well as all the others about Mercury and Festus (for children aged 3-7). If you can't find them: learn Swedish, you won't regret it.

I was one of the testers for Jorj's cookbook. By being one of the recipe testers, I have made many of the recipes in the book. I know how good these recipes are and I still use many of the recipes that I tested (from memory) in my everyday cooking.

Many cookbooks on the market today are written by television stars, people who are highly recognizable by the public. Although sometimes wonderful, what is forgotten is that there are many real cooks out there who have equally fantastic ideas about cooking. Jorj Morgan's recent cookbook, , is a collection of recipes designed for real people to explore cooking in their own kitchens - to go beyond recreating toward creativity. Her recipes are easy to follow and contain many suggestions for how to "play" with them. Some of the recipes are adaptations of more traditional recipes but even these recipes often have some new twist.

I recommend this cookbook. It will be one that you read and use rather than gathering dust on the shelf or looking beautiful on the coffee table.

In today's world, it is too easy to get caught up in our busy lives and rely on the convenience of take-out foods and eating out. Jorj Morgan's Fresh Traditions offers incentive to get back into the kitchen by way of quick, easy to follow recipes for delicious versions of classic foods. Easy to prepare, Jorj's recipes always call for the freshest ingredients. She also suggests variations in ingredients to take her recipes from classic to contemporary. The appetizer recipes are incredible. I served a few of them recently at a neighborhood get-together and they had rave reviews. They were quick and easy to make, but they tasted and looked like I spent hours in the kitchen! The chicken recipes with their variations on traditional ingredients offer endless ways to prepare your favorite chicken dishes. Fresh Traditions gives plenty of healthy choices and nutritional tips for those, like me, who are watching their weight. This is an all around excellent cookbook!

This is one of the best books I have read to give to new belivers in Jesus Christ. It is easy to read and understand, which makes it a valuable tool for people whose English is a second language.

This is the most incredible little discipleship book I have ever read. It is almost Oswald Chambers-like in style, but better, more organized, even more concise, with power packed in virtually every sentence! Coming from an evangelical perspective, Ralph Shallis sums up a lifetime of experience working with young Christians. He successfully communicates those aspects of following Christ that are the most vital features of the Christ-follower's belief and practice. It is an excellent resource for the new Christian, and an invigorating spiritual refresher for those that have known Christ for years. It is a crime against humanity that this book has been out of print for as long as it has been, and that the only copies available are from the late 70's and early 80s! I try to snatch up and distribute every available copy that is reasonably priced. One day I hope to persuade its present day patent holders, the mission organization "Operation Mobilization", to reprint this invaluable little book! All "From Now On..." would need is a decent effort at publicity from a reputable publishing company for it to become widely read, cherished, and be recognized as the Christian classic it truly is!

This is a great book. Small enough to fit into the hands of the little one, this work takes you on a farm journey. They will see that Farmer Sue must milk Fuzzytail Cow twice a day and they will be able to pop open the picture and see the bucket and milk. As they travel along they are shown how Fuzzytail Sheep it too hot so Farmer Sue must cut his thick winter coat.
As they pop open that picture they see a much 'thinner' sheep.
A great learning book with some nice illustrations. Recommended.

This is the cutest book about farm life I have seen! My 20 month old son, Carson, adores this book and wants to read it all the time.

The pictures are very colorful and inviting. They also show realistic farm chores such as Farmer Sue milking her cows and feeding the pigs.

It is a positive book that promotes a love for animals and nature. And the animals all live happily together as one big family.
