I went into this thinking it would be just another "BDSM" book,
and was quite suprized to find just how informative this book was. Being new to the "Lifestyle" it gave me much to think about. I could not put the book down! I related to Lisa and felt as though i was living through her, or longed to anyway.
It taught me a great deal about what i want, and the difference
between staying because i wanted to and staying out of fear.
It showed me just how loving a Master/slave relationship should be.
I highly reccomend this book for anyone who has so many questions,(as i did)or just for some good reading.
I found my emotions coming to a head, and in the end, as i read and cried....my heart felt good!
This is a MUST READ!!

I cannot say enough good about this book. As a pastor I was especially challenged by the two chapters "The Best Things Come Hard" and "Honesty in Prayer".
Every Christian man should read this book.

Tozer's compact gem of a book focuses on God' willingness to communicate with those who sincerely seek Him.
Tozer covers several important points, including:
1. God is to be treated with reverence.
2. God is best known in silence.
3. The church is to contrast with the world.
4. Unity is not always desirable.
5. Christians have become too accomodating to the world.
6. Beware of pragmatism in the church.
7. A Christian should be a creative thinker.
8. Beware of religious artificiality and the fear of man.
9. Do not be afraid to speak up for the truth!
10. Faith and expectation go together.
All in all, I highly recommend the book for the person who seeks a deeper relationship with the Lord and who dares to be different from the world!

Barbara Dixon really breaks it down. I had changed my diet a few years ago because of my concerns about the heart disease that runs in my family. This book covers the history of diseases and other health issues with African-Americans. I've ordered this book for several of my family members to read as well.

How many times I read this book to my children! The very youngest child can understand the story line and appreciate the repetetive text (which you can edit easily for your own sanity, if necessary). We are introduced to the little chick, his mother, and his home. Danger enters the chick's world in the form of a black, hissing cat, but Mom shields the chick with her big brown wing, and clucks the cat out of the picture. The chick meets a big frog and even falls into the pond and gets wet -- which little children think is terrifically funny. The bright, colorful pictures appeal to the very young and are easy on the adult eye. It doesn't sound like much, but it ends up being a very rich, warm experience to share this book with a little one. My 13 year old saw it today, and went through it with a bg grin on his face; which is why I checked to see if it was still in print. Thankfully, you can enjoy it with children you love, too.

This is a wonderful book for small children. They will love the main character, the chick, and his adventures. The reader will also enjoy the book and the reaction of the child listening to the story. Very cute and easy to understand. A wonderful introduction to learning about chicks and their mothers.

You know you've got it good when you can be friends with your relatives! Bo has a very special relationship with his Grandpa -- they don't see each other often, but when they do it's very high quality time. Playing ball, taking walks, gardening, cooking, listening to records, weaving baskets, carving statues out of a bar of soap... Bo's summer spent with his Grandpa is full of perfect childhood moments. And Grandpa has just the right attitude towards life. Every animal and tree is his friend and they give them all names. Bo's dearest wish is to see a shooting star before the summer ends. And they do, on the very last night. The illustrations are warm and perfectly match the tone of the book. One of Kevin Henkes' earlier books (copyright 1986), you can definitely see him emerging as a strong writing talent. This is a story to treasure about the love between grandparent and child.

A parable of compassion vs. misery

This tiny tome is in actuality a parable of compassion vs. misery, a story of triumph of life and vitality over common desperation. It is an example of how good work that encompasses the light of the sun and the miracle of the seed supersedes the doldrums of disenfranchised lives. The recipients of the gardens thumb their noses at their personal misfortune and rise to find that beauty and joy are possible. The garden givers have brought them that possibility. It is a sound Emersonian lesson for children. And fun to read.

I read this book when I was a junior at Cornell College, no relation to the Univ, and Jackie Martin was the Prof. At first I did not like the set up of the book at first, yet when I thought about the wide range of readers this book apeals to I enjoyed it more. The side bars are interesting and would be use full in some cases to the adult -- i.e. teacher, or parent -- yet older children who find this book interesting will want to know more and find them most usefull. Also the basic story line will be interesting to younger children and I have used read it seveal times to the first grade children I tutor in Ohio. It is well written and is a perfect book to read when spring come around or for a group project dealing with spring.

I'd been searching for a book about healthy eating that broke it down scientifically but in a way I could understand. There are no "scare tactics" - just the simple truth. Steadily, I've been replacing the foods I once thought were healthy. Anyone who reads this book will be amazed at what is touted as healthy but really isn't - and why it is touted healthy in the first place.
Enjoy. You really can't go wrong having this book around the house.

The Guide to Healthy Eating is the perfect book for people who want a "guide" to eating healthy. It simple, clear and concise. If you want a miracle "fad" book, then look elsewhere.
Here are some of the chapter titles: Carbohydrates, Sweeteners, Fats and Oils, Protein. Each chapter gives an explanation of what the substance is and then gives simple diet suggestions (and replacements).
It's a great book for people who want to start taking their health serious. It is also great for people who have read a ton of "health" books with conflicting information, but want to get the straight scoop on proper nutrition.

this book is perfect for any child that has to move away from friends. The illustrations are so beautiful. It really helped my son understand how some things are different while some things stay the same when you move away & also that you can still be friends with someone no matter the distance. We also bought this for our friends we moved away from. We love & miss you E!!
