Farmer McPeeper and his Missing Cows

By: Karly Bellanger.

One morning farmer Mcpeeper's cows took his glasses. So he could not see the cows. The cows ran away, so Farmer McPeeper went looking for his cows. The cows go all over, like to a park. No matter where they went farmer McPeeper couldn't see them because he didn't have his glasses. The cows also went swimming, to a baseball game, and to the movies.
I like the book because I think the cows are funny. I didn't know that cows could skateboard. The book was silly to read.

Very Entertaining

We purchased this book because it was recommended reading over the summer for my child. What a delight! The illustrations of the 'missing cows' were terrific and quite amusing to my 7 year old. We got a kick out of the part about Thunderbolt, Mr. McPeepers horse.

This book caught my eye the first time I picked it up. The illustrations are the best I've seen, and my kids just adore it! On each page they look for the Farmer's missing glasses (one of the cows has them in each scene). It's like "Where's Waldo" only better! The story is engaging and the illustrations eye catching. You can't miss with buying this book.

This cute story fits nicely with our Northern California Sonoma County Agricultural heritage. The errant cows cavort in the most un-cow like fashion that captivate the reader, much in the same fashion as the Click Clack Moo books. This book was selected by the California Teachers Association as the theme book for the 2006 Read Across America activities celebrating the birth of Dr. Seuss. The illustrator created special bookmarks, bookplates, posters and certificates for the occasion. They can be viewed at cta.org. Our union purchased copies for each of our k-5 school libraries. Got Books?

There are few more appealing characters than milk cows who are up to no good! Farmer McPeepers, who leaves his glasses behind, cannot find his milk cows. From the moment the cows tip-toe away (on their hind legs) until the end, you will find plenty to amuse you on each page. And your child will LOVE finding the milk cows in all the hilarious illustrations. The comical cows are fishing, waiting in line at the movie theater, jumping rope, climbing monkey bars, etc.

The text and illustration complement each other beautifully. Kids will scream with delight.

Before I started reading this book I had the impression that It would sum up all of the incidents and all the drama leading up to it. But, I was greatly disappointed. When the book ended I was thinking, did the real ending of the book fall out? Then I turned to page and saw the epilogue, so I thought, "Okay this should sum things up for me." But, It didn't. All it did was to leave me hanging on a string, and wondering if I misread something about a fifth book. I suggest that you don't read it unless you have prepared yourself for dissatisfation. But really, Is a fifth book coming out? Cause if it is, I'll change my review around completely.

I loved this book. The illustrations are wonderful, and the story is captivating, even without words. This is definitely a book for young and old alike, and those who have an attention to detail, are creative, and love to create a story of their own. I have given this book to a few people on special occasions, and they have all raved about it.

Written by a cardiologist and dietician couple. This is not a cookbook as some would guess by the title, but a guide to living a heart-healthy lifestyle. This is well written and very easy reading. It covers all aspects from a potitive attitude, sense of humor, fat Vs.carb issues, omega 3's, etc. I particularly liked how this is a common-sense approach to healthy living, and not another fad-diet that we're all so sick of hearing about. Thanks to Cardio Consultants in KC-Mo for turning me on to this book!

The Forever Young Diet and Lifestyle is easy to read and has a lot of logical advice on how to stay fit. It covers a lot of different aspects to life and diet. It was recommended to me by my doctor. Using the advice, I lowered my cholesterol by 10% and increase the good to bad cholesterol ratio. It also helped me shed fat while building muscle mass.

Change Your Life Today

Read this book. Change your life. The content is NOT a lose weight fast plan. It's not really a "diet" book. It will change how you look at what you (and those you care about) eat. I've met the authors. They have the credentials and no agenda other than to share their knowledge of how a healthy lifestyle is easily achievable. Based on the knowledge gained from reading this book I've changed how and what I eat, lowered my cholesterol, increased my energy, lost the 25 pounds I needed to lose and have kept it off for over a year.

My husband is a diabetic. He had a recent doctor's appt., and his doctor had talked about how he lost 35 pounds and it wasn't that hard . . . just basically a change of diet (healthy), along with advice via this book. Well, my husband was about 20 lbs. overweight, and complained that he was getting flabby, so he asked me to order this book. I did, and he would read a chapter or two at a time. He would ask me, "Did you know how good green tea is for you?" I would say "yes." Did you know that nuts from a tree are very good for you?? I would say, "yes." "Did you know that for every 100 calories in grains (cereals and breads, etc.), that you need to have 3 grams of fiber?" Yes. I have read Prevention magazine for years, and was always interested in health and medical topics, so those little tidbits of info were not new to me. ANyway, for a guy who NEVER reads anything except HUNTING magazines, I was amazed that he actually read this book. To keep his attention, it has to be written in an easy-to-read-and-understand style, or he would be tossing it out the door! He says it is very good, and he HAS INDEED changed his eating habits. He is definitely more knowledgeable!!! I would recommend it!

We may never understand what it is exactly He is doing with us, but we can trust His Heart and trust Him to do what is right.

If you need a reminder of His Love and an assurance of His strength and an example of His Kindness then this is the Book for you!

You will be blessed with His Gentle Thunder!

A Thunderous Ovation for Lucado

Max Lucado has written a devotional masterpiece that can attract the attention of any philosopher who is searching for the meaning of life or give insight to any clergyman who is in search of material that can supplement his or her preparation for a thought-provoking sermon.

I am generally wary of those who attempt to use individual biblical quotes to postulate their personal opinions and then formulate themes that they call daily devotions. In other words, beware of those who attempt to use scripture to "fit" their points-of-view.

Lucado, on the other hand, does the opposite. He presents a variety of stories that range from moral tales to historical accounts of triumphs and disasters, all of which parallel the fables and parables of ancient times, and while reading each chapter, one should conclude that if there is any point that Lucado is trying to get across, it is not for his own personal benefit; instead, it is this: we fail to realize that there are so many modern-day events in our world that make the works of the gospel writers just as relevant today as they were in the past and that many of these happenings brought to life are just as applicable to the so-called ordinary individual as they are to the famous figures who headline our daily news.

Mr. Coffman was a friend of my mother's growing up in the hills of West Virginia. This book for me was so informational about her childhood area. Unlike the other reviews, my interest was not the military aspect of Mr. Coffman's life, but his early years. So many memories of childhood are lost over span of time, thank you for bringing them back to my mother. I most enjoyed reliving those times with her.

The fortunes of war brought Warren Coffman and me together in the Channel village of Swanage, England over fifty-seven years ago. I found the story of his life to be most interesting, especially the periods before and after WWII. As a veteran, I was amazed at his excellent memory of so many past events. His coverage of the action at Diepenlinchen, Germany in September, l944 is most outstanding. One should also be impressed with his comparison of soldiers' outlook and morale in WWII, Korea, and Vietnam. Our presidents, present and future, should read this and, hopefully, come to understand why police actions and limited wars do not work.

This book is chock full of excellent practical ideas for taking control of your life in every realm: physical, emotional, spiritual, relational. It is a quick, manageable method for making change in a busy mom's life, with a particular emphasis on weight and fitness. I particularly like the "one goal at a time" focus of this book. Moms need to heed this aspect, for some readers may easily get overwhelmed at all the possible changes the author outlines. Very readable, with realistic steps each reader can tailor to her own situation.

As I started reading Debi Silber's book I was ready for some advice to incorporate into my life. I had my light blue highlighter in hand because I quickly figured out that this book is not just to be read, it is meant to be "used".... written in, highlighted and doggie-eared. It is just as much a workbook as an instructional tool, motivational tool, myth buster and cheerleading squad to boot. The problem was that I began to realize that I was highlighting the MAJORITY of each page. She has so many nuggets of INSPIRATION and tips to SUCCEED between the covers. She has so much interesting data, real numbers, trends, scientific info in understandable terms that "highlighting my book" was truly highlighting "the book!"

If you have tried everything, tried nothing, feel hopeless or hopeful about transforming your life as a mom in an effort to include more joy, balance, as well as physical and spiritual vibrancy this book is a tool for you.

Debi really wants her readers to succeed at creating a life they love. This is obvious here. It is also evident by the EXTRA BONUS she gives readers,a free audio download and the incredible website support that is available for anyone ready to dig in and create their best life and body.

This book has a heartbeat.

Finally, great advice for changing your life

Debi Silber puts together an advice book on many areas of your life. What I liked the most about this book is that she doesn't ask you to radically do anything, but make decisive changes in slow steps so you really can change your life. I like she doesn't ask you to radically change everything overnight, she knows you are busy, but you want to get your life back under control.

She writes about your life in many different fascets, we are not one sided, and neither is her approach. She gives a great deal of advice on nutrition, relationships, emotions, spirituality, stress control, and yes, fitness. Her advice is basically to take baby steps to make progress, for example trying to cut back on eating? Decide how much you will drink at a party before you leave, alternate your drinks with water, cut your drinks with spritzer. Order an appetizer instead of an entree.

So often advice books ask you to make radical changes that are difficult to stick with. I think that Debi Silber has really grasped that small changes made over time add up to lasting change. I think being a mom, having children, relationships with others, are taxing enough. Putting yourself through radical change is only going to heap more stress upon you. Stick with this book and the advice given, and you will see those changes that you desire.

A fitness book that I liked and continue to follow.

I hesitated to mention I have adapted many of the ideas in this book into my life since I am neither svelt or fit. But I am always looking for a book to coach me when I decide to make positive changes in my life.

The Lifestyle Fitness Program is that book. Debi Silber, known as "the Mojo Coach" takes the reader through easy to understand concepts that if adapted can make positive changes in the reader's health and life. Covering all aspects of healthy living, this deceptively simple book takes each concept, distills it into a three or four page chapter. There is also a website that compliments the book. What makes this so readable is the vast array of subjects touched upon... daily stress, family obligations, nutrition, exercise, relationships spirituality and others and presents the reader with easy to read suggestions to evaluate the impact on the reader's own life and ways to make it work for the reader. This is written in an easy to read format and is very reader friendly and the suggestions are things that a real person can actually commit to. This is a book that will provide a great foundation and structuring for your upcoming New Year's resolutions.

Finally, a well-written, easy to read and well-organized fitness program to support a busy mom's lifestyle. The lifestyle fitness program covers: nutrition, stress control, physical fitness, emotional well being, relationship issues, and spiritual fitness. This is a workbook meant to be used, written in, shared, highlighted, noted with paperclips, and littered with post-it notes. The anecdotes, motivational tips, and inspirational insights will encourage anyone needing to transform their life.

Sibler is an expert in nutrition, a certified personal trainer and skilled whole health coach. She has worked with busy mothers for nearly thirty years and she has combined all of her years of training both textbook and on-the-job in this total resource manual. Sibler takes the many facets of being a mother and uncovers them one issue at a time. There are several caught my attention:
* recognize and fulfill the crave
* learn the words (baked, broiled, roasted, creamy, sautéed, ) that help you know if the dish is fatty or not
* control the lapse - find out why you made a relapse, deal with it, control it and make a decision to regain control
* categorize your stress, manage the issue, delegate and let go
* modify your idea of weight loss success - its not all in the poundage
* pay it forward by sharing your successes with others

THE LIFESTYLE FITNESS PROGRAM is a unique workbook that will provide eye opening advice for the dedicated mom. This is not a guide to guilt you into making changes but a motivational tool that encourages you to make incremental modifications that you can easily incorporate into your everyday life. Oh, did I mention the free audio download and emailed emotional support...more than a book it's a personal trainer/wellness coach that you can carry with you.

This book was REALLY, REALLY GOOD. Couples break up, secrets come out and new characters are introduced (like Ben and Zoey's demented half sister Lara). Can Claire and Jake stay together? And what do Lucas and Claire get up to in her father's Mercedes? READ IT!!!!!!

Can Lucas get Zoey back,or will Jake take her away for good?

This was an awesome book!! There were so many dilemma's. At the end Lucas seems like he is fighting for his life. Why? You'll just have to read the book but, I can tell you this much, you won't regret reading it (unless you haven't read the other 6). Katherine Applegate did an excellent job with this series. There are so many cliff hangers. I really suggest you read this series.

An excellent book on magnetics, easy to read and understand. I was introduced to magnetic health products by a friend and have never felt better in my life. Sleeping on a magnetic mattress has convinced me of the power of magnets in health and wellness. I have a 10 year old springer spaniel with hip displaysia who also sleeps on magnets, she is an entirely new dog, more energetic and with less discomfort. After reading this book I can now comfortably talk magnets with my friends and family and highly recommend their use for a better quality of life.

Dr. Ronald Lawrence once again displays his views on "other forms" of health care. Having been an advocate of "alternative medicine" for many years one can read this book with joy and anticipated insight by a doctor that is steps ahead of the rest when it comes to alternative health care in the USA. Highly recommended reading for all.

This book helped me learn how to apply magnets to my body, what to expect, and how to communicate this knowledge to my neurologist. After suffering from a spinal cord injury and a cervical fusion the remainder of my discs were collapsing and I was suffering from horrible headaches and muscle spasms. Neurologists said I needed more operations and would end-up in a wheelchair if I didn't have them. Now, my doctor cannot believe the change and either can I. This book is VERY easy to understand and was hard for me to put down. I have recommended it to several people with disabilities of all sorts. We all know there is no magic wand. However, Dr Lawrence has relayed all the important information about the benefits and also misconceptions of magnet therapy. This book has helped me find a way to live with a problem I've had since a car accident in 1991. Get the facts so you dont waste your money on the many different magnetic devices on the market. Be an informed consumer and be pain free. I look forward to more of his writings on this topic.

I have started my own home based medical magnet distribution business and read this book whick offers a clear and comprehensive understanding about magnets and their medical properties that really work. Both for my own information, and as an invaluable sales tool, this book is a must have and had benefited me and my business enormously.
