This book really helps kids understand that just because other people get attention sometimes they are no less important.
There is time for everyone and we should support each other. Great lesson.

I would recomend this book for girls ten and older. The reason I say this is because the text is easy to read for a ten year
old and at the age of ten, girls and there sisters start to fight or they find out what certain diseases are and what they
can do to your body. Well, that's what this book is about, an older sister that has a very serious disease and is dying.
This book shows the relationship between the two sisters, shows what the older sister has to go through with the disease,
family, and friends, and shows what the younger sister does to help save her older sister. I didn't really dislike anything
about this book, the author explained everything in great detail. This is a very touching book. If you like sad stories,
I would recomend you this book, I loved it.

This is the perfect book to help introduce your first born to your second (and eventually third) born. My wife and I first
found this book at the library and finally bought it when we maxed-out our renewal for checking it out from the library. This
is one of my two-year-old son's favorite books. The text has a great flow for toddlers to follow along with and the pictures
are easy and interesting to look at. It was a great book to introduce him to the joys and troubles of becoming a big brother.

This is one of my favorite books. It is a good story! Julep is tired of being stuck in the middle of her family. She doesn't
think anyone notices her. Then, at the end, she sees that she is really important to her family. If you are a middle chld,
or even if you aren't, you will love this book. Julep's journal drawings are funny, too.

Many of the books for kids who come late to reading have themes that are too simple to engage these kids. My 7 year old loves
pets, and connected with this story of a boy trying to find his dog. The pictures are engaging (another element that is important
to my son as he is very visual - and an important feature for helping decode the words). The book is listed as "Just for
You! Level 1" ( K-Grade 1 per the book jacket).

Usually, in a book like this, the subplot (in this case, a blended family trying to find its way to be a "real" family) not only takes a backseat to the main, scary plot, it's usually boring. But the tension between the children is so palpable and fascinating, it *almost* kicks the threat of the ghosts to the back. I really liked the characters (well, yeah, the parents were typically clueless) and enjoyed spending time with them. The teens were witty without being too adult. All in all and excellent effort and I look forward to more of Richardson's books.
