This is my 8-year-old nephew's favorite book. The story of the Bobbity brothers' big squabble, which leads to Henry's disappearance and Billy's journey through a very funny future-world to find him, should appeal to any future-minded kid. The word-play and the charming illustrations (LOADED with details that are fun to find) all combine to make a book you shouldn't mind reading again and again.

My 19 month old son actually chose this book at the library. He absolutely loves it! It is packed with wonderful drawings of babies doing all sorts of silly things, such as "Babies kick and babies crawl, slide their potties down the hall." He enjoys the rhymes, but he LOVES all those pictures of the babies playing with things like "shoes and hats, sleeping cats,...an empty box, and Daddy's socks." It is a great book for beginning readers (especially those expecting a new baby brother or sister) because the print is large and well spaced. Smaller children will almost certainly relate to these little babies. I will definitely add this one to my list of "great gift books."

My five year old daughter highly recommends this book for its fun story line! I think that "Hippo" is fun, because she reads this book to Mom and Dad! What is a hippo to do when he gets the hiccups? Hippo's pink-bowed friend knows what to do! Advice such as, put hippo's head in a fish bowl while hippo holds his breath, and scare hippo by saying, "Boo" does the trick for hippo, but has a funny result for the friend. I guess that hippo hiccups can be catching! I know that my daughter and I hope to "catch" the other Reading Milestone books!

We loved reading this book together. My 2-year old son had great fun "searching" for Max under all of the tabs. Illustrations look 3-D!Offers lots of tabs on each page throughout the entire book. My son is really into hide-n-seek right now and Ruby does the whole "ready or not here I come" call. Even Ruby gets a turn to hide at the end of the book. My son kept playing with the book long after the story was over. Very good for fine motor coordination because of all the flaps. Encourages children to look beyond the expected. The pictures are scenes from outside/inside and you get to lift tabs to look in trees, flower beds, doors, windows, drawers, cabinets, under rugs, under beds and much more. This book is definitely a keeper and worth having in your collection!!

With AUGUST and LOOKING FOR MR. GOODBAR, Judith Rossner created two of the most memorable novels of our time. Here is her newest masterpiece, a wonderful, compelling story of an unconventional father, four daughters, and hollywood.

Judith Rossner's extraordinary new novel revolves around Nell, Louisa, Sonny and Liane--four daughters in a big, brawling, competitive, eccentric family headed by roguish movie mogul Sam Pearlstein. A Hollywood producer and womanizer of infinate charm, Sam is the fierce object of his daughters' affection--the children of his marriages to three wildly different wives. HIS LITTLE WOMEN is the unforgettable story of fantasy movieland childhoods, a far-flung family's continual crises, and the most suprising love affair an exceptional father could bequeath a devoted daughter. It is Judith Rossner's most fascinating and accomplished nove yet.

This is the best book about baseball I have ever read. It puts you in the center of a boy's mind at the very heart of the game as he struggles to work his way through a mediocre season on a mediocre team. But it is so much more than that -- It is amazing how Linda Zinnen puts you in Matt's head as he plays through an up and down season while fearing for his brother Tom's life who is hospitalized by cancer.

Matt's season runs in parallel to Tom's fight against his own mortality. Matt has to balance the sacrifices he is making by leaving a championship team for a perenniel also-ran to be near his brother, against his own frailties and fears that Tom may never come out alive again.

I started reading the Horrid Henry series to my kids when we lived in England, and I am so pleased that it is available in the US and on Amazon. My two boys love this book and I have actually had tears running down my face and had to stop reading because of laughing so hard. My oldest son is re-reading all the books in this series on his own now and he still loves them. They are set in England, so the language is more British, but not so much as to be difficult to read or follow. Happy reading!
