As an adult I love the cramp twins series on tv, this is the first book I bought about them and it's just as fun as the show. Wendy and Tony are your hosts and they make things so much more enjoyable seeing things through their eyes.

I highly recommend the book if you like the Cramp Twins.
(btw, Lucien is one of my favourite fictional characters!)

I gave this book to my sister as a surprise gift to let her know how I really feel about her. Our family has had a rough year and I always tend to lean on her for support. The drawings and sayings brought smiles to both of us. Funny and heartfelt. I highly recommend it.

Morrissey has a wonderful style. He goes back to the tin metal and a chipped paint look of WW1. It's a unique style and we often use it in our paintings. Hope he has other book up and coming in 2007. :D

Great Photographs and Lots of Examples of Bonding!
Helpful Votes: 2 out of 2 total.
Review Date: 2001-05-31
Unlike most books about fathers and their children, this one contains actual photographs. These images show a whole range of daddies and children. They will make the many ways for fathers to be with their children more vivid for those who have not yet had those experiences. This book also has more examples of ways to bond than other books about fathers and their children.

The book contains 37 color images, and few of them contain the same models. As a result, the book resembles a United Nations view of fatherhood in all its many varieties. I enjoyed that aspect, as well as the outstanding quality and reproduction of the images.

The list of what daddies do is also extensive. "Daddies are very important people." Daddies bathe, feed, and play with their baby children. They take larger ones fishing and find other fun things to do together. Some take their children to baseball games. Others lift their children up so they can pretend to be monkeys. Some daddies play chase games with their children. Others paint with children. Still other daddies are good at pretend games. Others are good teachers for reading and games. Daddies also help with accidents, going shopping, cutting hair, and carrying tired youngsters. At the end, the children say, "I love my daddy!"

What this book cries out for is to have each family create a scrapbook of photographs that shows mommy doing many different things with the children, daddy doing many different things as well, and both parents doing a variety of tasks. Although parents can remember these events and activities very well, children generally do not. My teenage daughter rolls her eyes in disbelief when I tell her the things we did together when she was younger. I'm sure that such a scrapbook would help build even stronger bonds than only doing the daily activities together. It would also build a heritage of caring in the family that can be carried forward into the next generation. I hope you will use this book to inspire you to create such a visual record of your closeness and caring.

Happy Father's Day!

These books are a pleasure to read and to look at !

This series of books are the favourite with my 9 month old daughter and me ! We have been enjoying these books for about four months now. I even recite them to my little girl when we are out walking to squeals of delight.

I have borrowed a lot of books from the library, so you could say I have done a lot of "road testing". I find the Daisy series to be in a different league to everything else. The illustrations in the Daisy series are delightful and the words are like poetry.

Gentle story of sibling warmth and overcoming adversity
Helpful Votes: 1 out of 1 total.

Constance R. Bergum's gorgeous drawings lend to the lovely story of Anna and her little sister Katya, who live on a Wisconsin farm and love to dance in the meadow, presenting they're ballerinas. When Katya falls ill with polio her dancing days seem over: her legs are weak and misshapen and Katya must struggle to even walk again - how will she dance with braces on? The sisters put heads together to resolve even a crippling illness in this gentle story of sibling warmth and overcoming adversity which parents and teachers will relish.

Danny helped me build Emotional Intelligence skills. I didn't know what to do after the first step of "recognizing ones feelings." His story showed me how to work with my feelings as a process. I found the book to be very appealing and most useful.
