Came across this book and have used it as a visual training aid. As a Certified Home Energy Rater I was pleasantly surprised to find it has all the correct information and visual aids to help train auditrs and explain common, yet difficult to understand home energy problems to homeowners. The book is great!

This book is a goldmine for senior citizens. It contains
detailed information on advocacy, agencies which help seniors,
bargain hunting tips, second careers, donations, credit,
day care centers, food assistance, granny flats, health fairs,
ID cards, legal aid, library services, outreach programs,
probate, toll-free numbers, transportation and a whole host of
issues pertinent to senior citizens. The work contains
information on the identification and treatment of a whole
host of senior citizen disease processes i.e. Alzheimer's,
arteriosclerosis, arthritis, cataracts, cancer etc.

There is a good protocol for cleaning the teeth by mixing
baking soda with a 3% solution of hydrogen peroxide.

to read and interpret. It is worth the price charged.

This is a comprehensive manual for centering Christian education, both at church and at home, around the Bible and the litury (the Common Lectionary used in most churches). An idea book for religious educators, parents, preachers, worship leaders. Emphasis is on biblical stories in the lectionary and pays special attention to the seasons of the church year. A book useful for leaders in the church.

I bought this book for my wife's birthday at her request (men never know what to get!) and she absolutely loved it. The humorous and down to earth anecdotes provided just the right encouragement for her. She has already told me she plans to read this book at least once every year. Husband, you can't go wrong with this one!

Dr. Anderson has a plethora of knowledge in the area of marriage and family ministry and theology. He addresses issues from a theological standpoint with over 20+ years of experience and research. If your looking to create a marriage and family ministry or just looking for insight, this is a must have. This book is refreshing and addresses many issues that are commonly overlooked. Dr. Anderson along with his colleague Dennis B. Guernsey has also have an "out of print" book called "On Being Family". These two text are a must have for any minister, volunteer or counselor who deals in marriage and family. Add these to your collection.

This book was instrumental in helping me not only discover my souls deep rooted wounds, but also learn how to start healing them by being open, honest and loving. It provided sensible, chronological structure to approaching each healing technique/exercise. This made it easy to follow and learn.

Soul issues are sensitive and sometimes painful to deal with as it is, but the book is well written and the non-threatening approach caused me to want to deal with them. It's a Christian based book although you do not have to be a believer to learn from it. A similar book that is non-Christian based and just as effective is "Getting the Love You Want, A Guide For Couples" by Harville Hendrix. These two books compliment each other very well.

I found in each chapter statements other couples have made that I've said or hear myself saying now. This made the content of the book very real. I could relate to their story which in turn helped me work towards resolving my guilt, pain, fear or conflicts.

I strongly recommend this book to any couple that is in conflict and is ready to do something about changing it. This book causes you to see yourself and your partner differently which allow the more hopeful, positive and loving emotions to surface again. I recommend this book whole-heartedly as it was to me.

No matter who you are, what faith you adhere to, what your income level, or how pious you believe you are, sometimes bad things happen. The nature of living as a human being is that our lives are filled with experiences, change, and growth. Sometimes we perceive these new situations as positive or as just requiring a little time or effort to adjust to the newness. However, the majority of us have experienced something more dramatic, a death of a loved one, a terrible mistake, illness, loss of a job, victimization, divorce, or something else that shook our world to the core and made us question who we were and what we believed. We were in crisis.

Often, I think that when we experience a trauma, we assume that we should just deal with the situation and move on. We belittle ourselves by saying that so and so got through a similar situation without any trouble. The truth is that we all experience things differently and more often than not that other person is just hiding his or her issues. Pushing through trauma, trying to pretend that everything is fine, or beating yourself up isn't going to help the problem. The only real way to get through a crisis is to understand and work through the real problem at hand, the fact that this new situation requires new adaptations that may even require a completely different way of thinking or different foundational beliefs.

Spiritual Crisis educates both the counselor and the average person going through crisis. Both will find this book extremely useful. I personally wish that all hospitals, schools, police stations, and places of worship would hand a copy of Spiritual Crisis to everyone that walks through their doors.

I became aware of this book at the University of Chicago. Dr. Walsh is again pushing the envelope in the field of family counseling and therapy. She is exploring new constructs and interventions that are based on a significantly broader definition of health and happiness. This is important reading for clinical counselors and family therapists alike!
