This has so many things that you will be able to use in your classroom. Many of the items are templates to be used to help your classroom in management, scheduling, dealing with conflict, alternative assessments for students with special needs. All in all this is a great tool to have in your goodie bags of support aids.

That's an excellent book, that can be used as a source of ideas
in order to teach effectively not only underachieving pupils or pupils with SEN, but all pupils in general.
It should be recommended to all those involved with primary mathematics teaching.

It's never easy to receive a diagnosis of mental retardation, especially if that report is about your own child. With each diagnosis my daughter received, I have made a habit of doing my own research alongside the pamphlets the doctors or therapists supplied. This book gives practical solutions to some of the issues faced when educating the mentally retarded, from mild to moderate to severe. What I especially appreciated is the fact that the authors kept a positive attidude when it comes to education and success for children with MR. I highly recommend this book for parents as well as professionals; it's easy to understand without the technical jargon which is found in many of the textbooks I've purchased. If you're looking for something to read which places MR in a positive light, this is a good book for you.

I liked this book because it is practical.
You can never get enough ideas for teaching.

The author provides an overview of the impairments that result from Alzheimer's Diease and related dementias and gives the reader some step-by-step methods for program planning. While the book is intended for use in AD programming, it can be useful in any setting for the Activities Coordinator, Occupational Therapist or Recreation Leader. I recommend this book to adult day services, such as adult day care center, adult day health care programs, and mental health day treatment programs. It can provide as a wonderful planning tool for the less experienced activities director.

To A Different Drummer is a very readable and practical resource for parents to help them to understand what Learning Disablilities are, and how they can effectively work with their child and his/her teacher to break or prevent a pattern of academic failure. The format of the book is wonderful. The "bullet" style information bits are easy to read and refer to. The graphics are very welcoming and friendly to the reader. Often parents are traumatized when they realize that their child has a learning problem. These authors have done parents a great service to help them understand what they are dealing with and how to go about it.

Susan Baum's book helps parents, teachers, and other interested parties understand the gifted/learning disabled phenomena. Being "twice exceptional" is frustrating for all involved, but especially for the student. This book details diagnosis and intervention suggestions that help immensely. This is one of the best of the few books available concerning this learning problem.

Susan Baum is the best writer about Learning Disable. She was observation about that since his disertation (about 90), and write this book since 1991. Her experience and her involve those problem, writed in this book.
