This book provides a great review of the work accomplished on gestural communication over the past 20 years. Not all labs that have produced literature on this topic were inlcuded in the book, but the authors nonetheless tackle the challenge of discussing the subject and do it well. I would recommend this book to anyone interested in researching gesstural communication in non-human primates and other animals.

A flower of consciousness appears among us

As heralded by such masters as Eckhart Tolle and Don Ruiz the earth at this time is graced by a number of awakened divine flowers of consciousness which grace us with their tremendous healing power and gentility. Marshall Ball is no doubt one such light in our world. His healing gift is through the power of his words. In this important document of our time [A Good Kiss] Marshall Ball uses his gentle and seemingly simple use of the English language to incite a healing effect that evokes deep emotions and directly effects the heart. Short of a miracle, both of Marshall Ball's books are a collection of communications poetically expressed and clearly echo teachings from A Course in Miracles, Eckhart Tolle's Power of Now and Stillness Speaks, and the Conversations with God books, none of which have been a source of study for this young man of 17. It seems Truth is spoken again by another source of pure love, but here, with heavenly gentleness and a poetic voice that can lift and heal the coldest of hearts. I highly recommend reading and studying both "A Good Kiss" and "Kiss of God" as material for spiritual study and personal growth. May this gentle heavenly force continue to grace us with his divine wisdom and healing voice.

Help in On The Way

My daughter had a severe learning disability and was sinking in school. We had special education, tutors; my wife and I are both teachers, support from the Learning Disability Association and little progress was evident.
"Mrs. Van" used her long honed techniques with her and week by week the improvement grew, and over the course of the lessons contained in her new book she became a writer who today is taking AP English Composition and has received three academic college scholarships.
The method works; it's simplicity, easy to assimilate exercises, and lack of dense training instructions make it a life saving program. It worked for our daughter, and the children of hundreds of others. It can be the answer to many parental prayers and student frustrations.
If you buy no other book to help your child with their learning challenges in reading and writing let it be this one.

Don't let the copyright date fool you! This book is a MUST BUY for any teacher who addresses braille instruction. Parents who are looking for ways to develop braille reading skills will also want to obtain this book! There are excellent suggestions for instructional strategies that work for beginning readers as well as students who may be learning braille as a back-up to print reading. A whole chapter is devoted to developing braille games. An Appendix includes an easy to use braille assessment checklist. I've been using this book since 1981 and refer to it often when presented with a new braille instruction challenge.

I enjoyed the contents of this book because it provided my family and me an excellent background for understanding the behavior of LD and ADD patients. Ms. Wren's approach to these diseases is very unique among those in her field. I applaud her work because it is VERY reader friendly and devoid of jargon, which makes it an easy and enjoyable read. I would reccomend this book to anyone pursuing a better understanding of various learning diseases and ADD.

Cale Kenney's adventurous free spirit flows through the stirring words and beautiful photos in this incredible book. She lost her left leg, hip, and pelvis due to a motorcycle accident when she was just 19. But Cale's joie de vivre propelled her to create the life of her dreams. Whether skiing down powder white slopes in Colorado, boogie-boarding in Kauai's intense surf, or chasing a neighbor's annoying pet pig in her apartment complex, Cale lives life fully and writes about her adventures with wit, humor, and grace. A must-read for anyone looking for inspiration!

Mr. Mulvaney continues from that point to talk of the very proudest moments in his life, as well as the very lowest moments. From his marriage to his soul-mate (his "Babe") and the births of his daughters, to a tragic accident which left him as a quadriplegic, you will experience every emotion on the spectrum. Duane Mulvaney has a special talent to share the deepest part of himself, without asking anything in return, and he does this not only in his book, but in the experiences he has had with others throughout his life.
It might seem like a cliche, but once you start to read this book, it is very difficult to put down; and once you have finished reading his words, you cannot help but be full of inspiration.
