This book brought me great comfort. I especially liked the final page of each chapter. Sandy creates a great sense of spiritual awareness. I couln't put this book down, it was for sure a must read. With Sandy's view on things this is one of ways to cope and continue to live on with the people here, on the physcial side, but know that our loved ones continue to be with us spiritually. I LOVED THIS BOOK!!!!!
Beautifully written, extremely helpful working through grief.

I read this book within 2 weeks after my son died in an auto accident on 8/13/08. I have since shared it with other friends who have lost a child, and with my siblings after our parents died. As a Christian, I believe that the soul lives on, and after reading this book I believe that love lives on as well. I have had personal messages that I believe come from my son, as well as messages through a psychic medium. What a blessing!
God bless Sandy for her strength in sharing her experiences, and for her guidance to others who tread the same long road after a tragic loss.

Sandy Goodman and her book "Love never dies" changed my life. My son passed away on 2/6/06 and i thought my world had also come to an end. I had gone to my church for help, it did not. I tried grief counseling, it did not help. One day i found myself in a book store and Sandy's book jumped out at me. I read a chapter in the store and thought, wow, this is a story about my life since my son passed. I bought the book and returned home. I sat down and read the entire book in one sitting. This book change my life. I had no idea it was possible to communicate with my son through a medium. But i did and now i know my son still lives. I then went on to learn to communicate with my son on my own just as Sandy was able to do. My world changed when my son passed but my world once again changed when Sandy's book came into my life. I have learned so much since Sandy's book. But she showed me what was possible and i will be forever grateful to her and her book "love never dies". She also has a web-chat for parents on wed. nights. We share our experiences and this helps so much. Thank you Sandy

I highly recommend Sandy Goodman's book Love Never Dies for anyone who has lost a child or a loved one.
I read "Love never Dies" a couple of months after losing my son. The book helped me journey through the most difficult and painful time of my life and gave me a renewed sense of hope and peace that my son still exists. Sandy Goodman's true story of a mother's loss and the relationship she still has with her son Jason left me believing that our loved ones are not gone but are still very much a part of our lives.
Sandy Goodman's book also led me to her wonderful and compassionate web-site and forum "Love Never Dies 4 U" It's been my life-line these past two years since I lost my son.

After losing my mom, dad and husband, I turned to the internet to get some info on After Death Communication info. I found out about the unique website Christine had called Prayer Wave and I found a group of folks with similar experiences on ADC's to mine. I actually wrote and phoned Chris directly and she was so sweet and understanding and available to me. I contacted her about many things and was not sure if she would even be open to discussing further as there appears to be a distance between authors and their readers. She also referred me to Sunni Welles' book and that is fantastic too. All in all I have come to really respect and admire Christine's ability to communicate about spirits in ways that is essentially comforting to those of us who grieve so deeply, so deeply that it can stop one's life in midtracks if one does not understand or even receive the gift of an ADC. I have been blessed to receive ADC's daily and it is surely a comfort to me. I love sharing them with Chris in emails. Her book is fantastic and a must read. We are very fortunate to have such a wonderful gifted soul as Christine to bestow these gifts upon us. Thanks Christine..I consider you a soul sister even though we have never met! Love, Lynn

With all due respect to the author's intended audience, I have to point out that the book seems to be meant for those whose religious beliefs are specifically strong, perhaps even fundamentalist, Christian. I'm posting this review only so others considering buying it can know that, whether it persuades them to buy it or not to buy it.
When I read the reviews as I was considering it, I was very interested, but might not have bought it, had I known how deeply Christian its foundation is, since the person I was buying it for is quite spiritual but of a different faith.

One of the hardest things in life to deal with is the passing of a loved one. I experienced this pain as a teenager when two of my good friends were killed in an alcohol related auto accident. In the 27 years since that time I have read many books on Near Death Experiences (NDE's) and After Death Communications (ADC's). The amazing thing I have learned is that life continues on after our physical death, just like the Bible says. Of this I have no doubt.
Christine Duminiak's book -- God's Gift of Love: After Death Communications -- is the best book I have read on this subject. This book relates the experiences of many ordinary people who have had ADC's with loved ones.
When a person passes on, that is exactly what they do -- they pass over from our physical realm to the Heavenly realm. Their spirit continues to live in a very real way. They can see and hear us, and they still love us very much. Christine's book shows the many ways our loved ones communicate with us to comfort and console us and let us know that they are doing great!
What a great joy to know that not only do our family members and friends live on after their passing, but we will too, when we leave this world!
In addition to helping those who are grieving the loss of a loved one, "After-Death Communications: God's Gift of Love" will also help many to strengthen their faith in ways they never could have imagined.
There are quite a few books available on the topics of ADC's and NDE's. The more you read, the more you will be convinced of the authenticity of this amazing phenomenon. In my humble opinion, Christine's book is the best one to start with.
If you are grieving the loss of a loved one right now, I would also recommend checking out Christine's Prayer Wave Website:

A Must- Have For Anyone who Has Lost Anyone
I received my copy of this unbelieveably beauifully written book just days before God called my precious mom home to Him.....while I am still in disbelief that she is gone... I believe through this book that she, my Dad and other 'lost' loved ones lives every day with me and through me but she cannot be physically seen....... I think the writer of this special book created out of love must be a very real and angelic person who has chosen to accept the privilege afforded to all of us if we open our hearts .....that is to communicate with our loved ones after they are no longer seen on this earth.....this book will give you hope and proof that our lived ones live on and miss nothing .......Thankyou for your divinely inspired writing.....you are truly an ANGEL.

For anyone searching for answers about the meaning of life and curious to understand what death means in this context - this is the perfect source book. Annamaria Hemingway opens up our awareness into understanding how death helps us to appreciate life in a far more meaningful way and illustrates this fact through deeply moving and inspirational stories. The text material that accompanies the stories draws on a wealth of hstorical, philosophical and mythic perspectives that make fascinating reading. The book also demonstrates how letting go of our fear of death gives us the opportunity to consider the strong possibility that death may only be a transition into another form of consciousness. A wonderful book that I highly recommend.

My Four Stars is ringing the top bell in My library. So think 5. I work with the dying and their families daily. This is a very well researched and documented book on death and dying. A compilation of lives touched by personal loss and continuity of conciousness experienced. It should be in everyones library. I teach several classes on line about concious death and dying, for a private university. I have Annamaria's book listed as a " Required Text" for all my current classes. In my private practice, I take it along to clients homes. It often helps bereaved family members find solace. Also an excellent book for those who wonder "what comes next" and for those who question "if awareness continues after the body dies". I was especially impressed with the integrity and ethical character of Ms. Hemmiingway's book. It is well organized and can be read in parts or sections; especially important for those facing loss. In active grief we can only absorb information in "sound bites" or " one story at a time". This book fullfills that requirement! Uplifting and Solid. A great book for everyone including those interested in the study of Neath Death Experiences.

I absolutely love this book, not only does it share experiences of NDEs but also the difference in the peoples lives afterwards. What I am finding particularly inspirational is the stories of people who have been directly affected by traumas ie Oklahoma bombing and 9/11 and how they have turned around their grief into doing amazing things for the benefit of others to the point where i have been moved to look up some of the charities and learn more about their amazing work. This book stirs huge compassion and shows us how a seemingly simple idea when actioned can have such a positive and life changing effect on others. All this and I still have a bit to read :-)

PRACTICING CONSCIOUS LIVING & DYING takes us where people go when they die, traveling with those who have been declared officially dead and who managed to return to life to share their stories. This refreshing book is a collection of sixteen very different personal accounts of people who have come face-to-face with death in many various ways. There is a rich treasure trove of experience shared in this book which invites the reader to come on a journey each of us cares about, because it's a journey we are all destined to take. I love the way each first person account vibrates with such heartfelt emotion that I feel I'm right there... and the way that many people have found ways to make the deaths of their loved ones richly meaningful.
One of the most surprising and moving stories that touched my heart was the story about search and rescue teams of firemen with their special dogs. After learning of how such close relationships between fireman and dog affect and improve the firemen's other relationships, I will never see the world the same way again. There is a gift in being fully in this moment, right here, right now, rather than mentally or emotionally elsewhere... and I feel immensely grateful to this book for helping me vicariously experience how to go about regaining that sense of childlike wonder and simple heartfelt appreciation with the simple beauty in this world.
There is truly something ennobling and empowering in consciously living one's life, and PRACTICING CONSCIOUS LIVING & DYING helps us discover the secrets of how to better to enjoy the lives we are so blessed to have right now. This book is an extraordinary breath of fresh air for anyone caught up in the minutiae of daily life who longs to catch a glimpse of meaning, continuity, connection, and inspiration beyond the hum-drum everyday.

Nancy Manahan and Becky Bohan team up to write a beautiful tribute to the life of Manahan's deceased sister-in-law in "Living Consciously, Dying Gracefully: A Journey with Cancer and Beyond." The authors hope not only to remember their loved one in print but to share her extraordinary passage from unthinkable diagnosis to dignified death.
"Living Consciously, Dying Gracefully" is the touching story of Diane Manahan - wife, mother, grandmother, sister, colleague, and friend - and her deliberate pathway toward the unavoidable end of her life. Stricken with cancer, Diane received the short gift of remission before the disease returned with a vengeance and ultimately caused her death. Although countless families have had to endure such a painful ordeal, Diane's story brings an enlightened hope and calming peace as she looks at her situation with an unusual perspective. To most, death is the ultimate unknown - terrifying and avoided in conversation. Instead of settling in this mindset, Diane chose to live and love each day to the fullest while openly communicating her final wishes on most of her burial and memorial services.
"Living Consciously, Dying Gracefully" is not only a deeply heartfelt story of a woman's life but a guidebook for those facing similar situations and would like to intentionally leave behind a beautiful legacy. Both Diane's story and the authors' lessons from her life touch the soul and encourage the heart to see death as more than merely `the end.' Manahan and Bohan write with such emotion and love that I found myself mourning Diane's death but conversely, rejoicing in her conscious life. They perfectly capture this woman's spirit with their style, one which brightly radiates from each page.
Since death in inevitable for everyone "Living Consciously, Dying Gracefully" is a book many adults will find of great interest, especially those having to watch a loved one suffer from a terminal illness. Further, those undergoing a disease themselves and wanting to approach their deaths with more purpose would also greatly benefit from reading this book. I found that the most profound aspect of Manahan and Bohan's writing was that Diane - a non-violent person - didn't view her treatments as a `fight,' a `war' going on between her medicine and the invading cells, or that she was a victim of cancer. Instead and more positively, she was simply living with cancer - a peaceful journey full of love and mature acceptance even during her conventional and complementary therapies.
"Living Consciously, Dying Gracefully" is probably the most profound book on death I've ever read. Manahan and Bohan present a beautiful story of their loved one while offering hope to others that may be facing similar circumstances. A life lesson for anyone wanting to leave a more powerful heritage behind, "Living Consciously, Dying Gracefully" tugs at the heartstrings, lifts the spirit, and pulls the conscious mind towards a more meaningful life and dignified ending.

LIVING CONSCIOUSLY, DYING GRACEFULLY offers a sensitive and informative look at illness and life transitions.
As a hospice volunteer I encountered a variety of texts and articles on death and dying, but there is a completeness to this book that makes it one I know I will return to as a source of comfort and guidance.
The four core sections of the book focus on Diane Manahan's breast cancer diagnosis and treatment, her physical death, the lessons that continue to unfold with her family and friends, and a guidebook containing practical applications.
Excerpts from Diane's journal give readers insight into the spectrum of emotions she experiences. We see her not only as a remarkable woman (nurse educator, wife, mother, friend, musician, athlete), but fully human as she acknowledges all aspects of her character in facing such a daunting challenge with courage, dignity and humor.
Authors Nancy Manahan and Becky Bohan have written a loving tribute which inspires and educates.

Diane Manahan loved life, lived it to the fullest, and shared it with family, friends, colleagues, and students to the end. She was an expert teacher of living a quality life and teaching the art and science of nursing. The authors of this book share her journey with cancer. The book is well organized and written in a compelling way that tells how life choices help "make lemonade out of lemons." As one of her friends I lived this story. I am so pleased that it is written so that those who read it can continue to learn through her deliberate and intuitive wisdom, caring, and gentleness of mind, body, and spirit.

Living Consciously Dying Gracefully: A Journey With Cancer and Beyond is a memoir reminiscing about and paying tribute to nursing professor Diane Manahan, a courageous, warm and loving woman. When she was diagnosed with breast cancer, she chose to blend complementary therapies and orthodox cancer treatments, and she lived a full and vibrant life for five and a half years until her death. Written by Nancy Manahan and Becky Bohan, life-partners who were both graced to know Diane, Living Consciously, Dying Gracefully isn't just about illness and death, but also life and spirituality. A heart-touching journey, and uplifting inspirational resource for anyone going through life-or-death trials or witnessing such challenges visited upon a loved one.

This is by far one of the most touching stories I have ever read. The book is an easy read but very moving at the same time.
If you have any fears of the afterlife, this would be a good one to read. It does confirm what I have read before and what I feel in my soul to be correct. Life isn't as hard as we may think, it just all comes down to "New Growth" when it's all said and done.
If this book sparks your interest in channeling the other side, you might find all the books by Abraham Hicks very inspiring as well.
I would give this one more than 5 stars if allowed!!

After reading this beautiful story, channeled to the author by her son who is now in heaven, my girlfriend and I began meditating and focusing on cleansing our chakras and opening up our souls to the spirit world. Almost immediately I began to feel a peace when I meditate, and she has already felt the presence of beings from the other side! This book is not only changing our lives, but is bringing us closer together. Amazing and life changing!

An emotional journey of the heart and spirit, this book defies gravity. In my work with others who experience loss, I will be sure to put this read at the top of the list when recommending resources. As Danny's journey beyond continues and his mother heals, he says, "Remember that you are of Heaven... This will keep you open and ventilated". I think A Swan in Heaven will keep readers open and ventilated as well. An inspiration for healing and grace, if not a leap of faith.

A Swan in Heaven: Conversations Between Two Worlds
Danny speaks through Terri in ways that are both wise and simple. He reminds me of eternal truths and the challenges of daily living, and shows me the way that the former can make the latter honest and uplifting. He addresses grief, unfairness, fear, and shows me how to find hope, contentment, and joy. And he does it all in the most loving way, speaking directly to my heart.
I recommend this book to anyone seeking a guide on life's path.

This book was a journey, it took me to places in the heart I've never been but had been searching for most of my life. While I don't believe that there is just one specific "answer" in life, this book has been an open door to explore the possibilities of life, death, love and laughter. The healing tools of life are love and laughter, and the reminder that they are needed daily is ever present in the pages of this book, both on this earth and off. I will use this book often as a gentle but constant reminder of those that have left my side, but not my life.

Beautifully written, A Hug from Heaven is an enlightening and compelling look at what happens after death. In conversations with her deceased father and uncle, the author, Margien Burns, offers comforting and descriptive insights into the learning process that occurs when we "cross over." The author relates the importance of communicating and listening, and how to handle the highs and lows of everyday life while we are on this earth, and the path that will eventually take us to the greatest love of all. We find that what awaits us at the end of our temporal journey is really just the beginning.
An excellent and intriguing read.

"A Hug from Heaven" helps one understand what happens after one "passes on." If you have had a loved one pass away, it helps you come to peace and to know that they are still with us. The conversations Margien has had with her father and others from the other side are amazing.
This book has opened my mind about life and death. I recommend this book to all.

If you ever wondered whether someone you've lost can talk to you from the "other side," this book may help you make up your mind. What happens when you die? This book offers a crash course in what we learn when we leave the body behind and enter "Heaven's Gate." In a series of conversations with her passed-over father and others who have died, Margien Burns looks at the meaning of life, death, of your "life plan" and of how you can open yourself up to connect to those who are no longer in body. Filled with examples of "readings" she has given others who have lost loved ones, the book will help you cope with loss because you understand that life does go on, even when we feel like we have lost everything. We don't come into this world alone. Our lives are interwined with others from before we are born, and our life plans are made to hone not only our souls but to help others do the same. The chapters in this book remind us that we are here to grow in body and spirit and we are never left alone. Our loved ones are here, and if you will open your mind to them, they will speak of wondrous worlds yet to be experienced. Have no fear. This book helps shed light on enlightenment.

This delightful books provides us with an enlightening peak into the after life. We all hope to pass into such a place, when our time on earth is done. Here the reader finds a peace and assurance about the place our loved ones have passed to and where we may meet up with them when the time comes. If you were raised with the memorable idea of "Eternal fires burning in Hell--from childhood, you will value the serenity found in the author's words. It speaks of how love and knowledge rule and light the way, even for lost souls. They too have the ability to find their way out of the darkness. The clarity about many subjects we all question privately, is honest, calming and makes reading this great little book easy. It isn't about one religion being better than another. The fundamentals we learned from childhood will light the way for the spirit and for us: Love, Kindness, and Acceptance. There must be holes in the floors of Heaven and this book describes it best.

This is a book you may find hard to put down until you reach the last page. But you won't be done with the book once you finish reading it. This thought-provoking book will stay with you, as your mind works to incorporate what you have read into your sense of reality. Whether you are a skeptic or a believer, this book is worth your time and will give you a lot to think about.
Each personality is definitely unique from the others. Each message displays qualities in the ideas expressed, and in the manner of expressing those ideas, that ring true to that individual. If you are thinking about buying this book, do it. It is well-written, an "easy" read. The messages are simple--yet it is the simple truth that often seems to trip us--an eternal path to find the simple truth.

With all of the thousands of books out there today, finally there is one that can help answer a lot of questions, without a lot of trouble. You can take each chapter and read slowly, then find yourself sorting out your own questions or problems. For all of those seekers on their Spiritual Path of Awakening, this book can help you to untangle some of the knots of unknowing you may have and awaken that inner knowing within. We all have it -- thank you Irma. This is not a "quick read", take your time with it, it will be well worth it! Namaste

The only way we will not be afraid to die, or make some of the mistakes these souls did is to read this book. Suicide is not the answer, but love is! Bottom line! Compassion and love is the number one message. Love and forgive. That is the main lesson, and there must be a reason. Open your minds but most of all open your hearts! Thanks Irma!!!

I thought that Afterlifefromabove was refreshing and informative in describing so much about life after death and in the in-between-state. The author is intelligent and explains so that all can understand. I also like that she addresses paranormal events from a perspective of healing. This is a first which makes this author unique.

I have read many books about the After Life and this one attracted me almost immediately because of how the author uses her own knowledge and experience but also that of others. That gives it more credibility in my heart. When reading the book it is very apparent that "Spirit" has aided in the sharing of information put into words here. Anita has a gift, a special love for Spirit, and is true in sharing information for individuals beginning their spiritual track, involved in a recent loss of a loved one, or wanting corroboration of information from another source.
