He has fulfilled a great purpose in providing a great source of hope for all people in the face of pain, suffering and loss. This is a very uplifting read that will make you think and hopefully, do your own research into life after life. I would like to share with the readers my experience with this book "Signals". For quite some time, i have had unexplained psychic experiences (signals) with my loved ones that have passed on. I picked this book up thinking it was about something else and started reading and was hooked. I could not put this book down and kept wanting to know more. This is a wonderful moving story about life and not giving up. I promise, if you are into the paranormal and wanting loved ones to be near us when they die, you will not be sorry with this book, you will also, learn about a man that has withstood so much in his life and continues to push forward. I would recommend this book to anyone with an open mind about love, life and friendship.

If there is ever one word to describe this book, its powerful. What a concept...that suffering is never meaningless, but a vehicle of purposeful intent and that we, as eternal souls, planned to use certain challenges to foster growth not only for our own souls but for the sake of our soul group and the universe at large. Putting it into a context like this, suffering has a whole different meaning.

According to the book, those around us also plan our lives intertwined with ours and all decisions are made out of love, no exception. I now think about my own challenges and those who have played a key role in my own personal growth and look upon them with gratitude and not judgment, including the "villains" in my story, because they fostered the most growth out of me. I am only now beginning to see the perfection of life. Aside from clarity, this book will bring healing and infinite comfort to those going through extreme suffering in their lives by learning there are no victims in this world.

Part of me picked up this book to find comfort for my own inner wounds. I cried when I read the words "Only the courageous plan fear" for I knew, that was what I intended to heal and have been working on it for years, having them dissipate one by one.

It has been a long time since I closed a book and felt warm, comforted and knowledgeable. The author takes you by the hand and guides you through this information with compassion, grace and great wisdom. I just cannot fully express how wonderful this book is. It is absolute perfection and if I could, I'd give it more stars. If there is ever a book I'd recommend, it would be this one!

I absolutely love this book! I knew that we had pre-planned our lives before reading it, but it explains it so well with people's stories to show you examples. I really hope I can get my friend to read it as I think it will help her to understand the reasons for some of her challenges in her childhood and now. EXCELLENT BOOK!

Wonderful reference book for anyone researching reincarnation. Answers many question as well as raising them.

Courageous Souls: Do We Plan Our Life Challenges Before Birth?Best book I have ever read on the subject of Pre Birth Planning. So well written and easy to relate to. It has brought great healing to my life and I continue to explore all possibilities. It has certainly given me a better understanding to life and knowing that everyone is on a journey to better their soul. A must read for anyone on a spiritual path to healing.

Everything always makes sense when you can see the big picture. This book provides a glimpse into why events we perceive as "bad" happen, through a varied collection of individual cases.

Our lives in this "reality" are just learning experiences, to expand our awareness of ourselves, we agreed to before we arrived on the planet.

Vaishali's book asks a simple question to the reader, "What do you love?" Throughout the book the reader will continue to ask this question to themselves, and the book helps to guide the individual to find honest answers. If you know what you love, then you know who you are and what you are looking for. Without observation, life will pass you by and leave you with regrets later. Everyone should read this book to help spark their soul journey in the right direction.

Vaishali has the ability to cut through all the extraneous stuff straight to the heart of the matter and make everything so clear!

As a personal friend and colleague of Vaishali's, I find her unique infusion of humor and willingness to address the darker aspects of human nature to be a refreshing alternative to most of the Pollyanna fortune cookie platitudes that tend to dominate this genre. "You Are What You Love" is actually a very forthright declaration that each of us must love whatever it is that most occupies our thoughts, even if we are complaining about it.

Vaishali answered so many questions in this book, I wish I had understood this life changing wisdom earlier, it would have made my life so much easier. I feel so much better about how to deal with challenging people and circumstances now. This is one of the most personally empowering books I have ever read, I highly recommend this book. I also loved it is printed in purple ink.

Vaishali's exquisite You Are What You Love reminds me of a stimulating conversation so juicy it is worth staying up all night to enjoy. The subject matter bridges the metaphysical with the practical and makes the subject matter an exciting adventure for both the mind and the heart. The choice of subtopics reflects the wisdom of the author; and her humility and love shine through on every page. Lighthearted without being lightweight, this is a book I'd recommend to the neophyte as well as the spiritual sophisticated. You Are What You Love is an excellent read: I'll look forward to Vaishali's future works.

I've read a few books about reincarnation, but this one has to be one of the best. It's well written and it tells it from all sorts of angles. Even the statistics are there, while it also managed to speak to my heart in a way none of the others did.

the book is a very fast read. It contains data from many researchers on the subject, especially how other cultures view reincarnation, which is very informative but it begs for more. The stories described are fun to read.

I ordered 5 books from Amazon on this topic. This one was by far the best. Some of the others got really boring really fast, but this book had me captivated from start to finish. It certainly was a very comforting book to read. Since I got it over a year ago, it has not been in my house because everyone I know wants to borrow it! I hope to get it back soon to re-read!

If reincarnation is real, and if we develop deep bonds as soul families, then it makes sense that at least some of the time we would reincarnate right back into the same family to work out unfinished business. This is the premise of Carol Bowman's book, Return From Heaven, and she offers numerous true accounts of children whose parents observed behaving and speaking and thinking like good ol' granddad, or auntie so-and-so. Many people, even those who don't normally believe in reincarnation or past lives, have wondered whether the infant in their arms wasn't the returned soul of an aged or not-so-aged relative recently deceased--anyone who has entertained such a thought will enjoy Return From Heaven. I found this book simply fascinating, and I'm sure that many who read it will begin to run over in their minds the behavior of their children and realize that they have been parenting and nurturing someone deeply familiar to them--their own nearest and dearest.

I came across a copy of this book a few months after my mother's passing. Although I was familiar with various perspectives on the spiritual and transpersonal aspects of dying this book was my guide to understanding some of the subtleties of her physical and mental withdrawal. It provided me with some "aha!" insights.

This insightful book about the "psycho-spiritual" aspects of dying, draws upon the perspectives of several spiritual traditions, largely eastern. I found it to be a wonderful blend of Sogyal Rinpoche and Elizabeth Kubler-Ross.

The topic does not make for easy, light, quick reading, but it is not difficult to understand if one keeps an open mind, regardless of one's faith. The material can be as fluid, thought-provoking, or as complex as a reader perceives it to be.

It ought to be required reading for any medical student and professional, as a mind-opener, much as a world-religions glass educates people about different faiths; no conversion necessary. Many thanks to Ms. Singh for her valuable work!

I have read many books on the dying as I work with hospices and have to say, this is one of the best books I have read yet. It not only gives the experience of the person dying, but also with those surrounding and accompanying the person on this "journey".
Very complete and well written book.

Kathleen Dowling Singh presents excellent descriptions of many healings that are possible in the process of dying. While her transpersonal orientation is apparently inspired by Sufi (mystic Muslim) traditions, her writing is relevant universally. As she notes, "I am an ordinary person working with ordinary people dying ordinary deaths." ( p. 3).

Singh specifies that this book is for people who have a space of time towards the end of their life - or are close to someone in this situation - and can contemplate what lies ahead. It is not for people who are already in the process of transition. At this stage, one's business is simply to get on with what is happening, not to distance oneself from it through analyzing it.

I found Singh's discussion on qualities of the Nearing Death Experience to be helpful handles on aspects of the deathing process. These include the qualities of relaxation, withdrawal, radiance, interiority, silence, the sacred, transcendence, knowing, intensity, merging, and experienced perfection.

Taking a more structured perspective, Singh considers stages of releasing of controls over psychophysical functions (Karnofsky scale - Appendix II) and relates them to stages in the process of dying which she finds conceptually helpful, including chaos, surrender and transcendence.

Singh's discussion brings an atmosphere of peace, acceptance and healing to what is often in our society a time fraught with anxieties, fears and distress. An example of this attitude is evident in the following observation:

"The AIDS community has called its disease `Accelerated Individual Discovery of Self' and has referred to the pandemic as `enlightenment at gunpoint.' This phrase applies equally to any one of us who is dying." (p. 15)

I strongly recommend this book to anyone who is involved in the dying process or just interested in understanding it in greater depth, from a healing perspective.

Assuming the Platonic narrative is an important aid to those who are dying over an extended gentle period Singh incorporates much of the vocabulary -- from pop-psychology and philosophy -- to build a coherent picture that must certainly soothe us as we die. Here, at the point where Aristotle would challenge us to recognize our soul ends with the body and accept that our soul was past tense -- a narrative sure to depress those who enjoyed life and wish for eternity -- reiterating the Platonic narrative using current idioms is a great service to our dying process. The reassurance that this interpretation of the narrative is persuasive depends on accepting Singh's expereinces which we cannot duplicate. Indeed, those who have had such experience, being present at many deaths, have told me they did not share such experience. But it is a safe argument since we cannot test it. It is beleivable to those who wish to beleive it and that may be enough.

A friend shared this book with me a couple weeks ago and I read it in 24 hours. I could not put it down. It will always remain one of the most beautiful, comforting, authentic, soulful books I have ever read. It absolutely resonated with me. I am an orthodox Jew having converted from another religious tradition in the past. Many people do not know that although reincarnation is not the first or most important 'order of business' within Judaism, yet there is an understanding that we do not just visit this earthly plane only once. Reincarnation is alive and well :) in our tradition, although unfortunately not everyone is aware of it. Reading this small beautiful book as a practicing Jew, I continually found likenesses to beliefs in my own tradition (especially Kabbalah, but not limited to that), and I knew while reading it that it was of course written from an Eastern perspective, which made the likenesses all the more beautiful and remarkable to me, because ultimately Truth takes us back to One Source. Truth is truth and is not limited to any group, but available to all. That was one of the most lovely things about reading this book. This little book only confirmed beliefs I have had for much of my life and it illustrated to me once again the universality of the human experience and the love and compassion that lie beyond.

By the way, I think if anyone who is afraid of 'death' could read this inspiring little volume they would fear it no longer.

How I wish the book were affordable! I'd buy many to share with those I love. Five stars easily.

How I came about this book will tell you much about the truth of its teachings. My physical body died on May 15th, 1991 while I was in the hospital. I had never given much thought to the possibility of life after death before this. Everything about shedding my physical body and journeying to this non-physical realm was new to me. What happened next was extraordinary! Meeting a Being of Light, regaining the memories of who I truly am, of who I was prior to coming to mortality, being given a choice to remain or to go back to mortality, the revelation that I had come to earth to accomplish a mission, etc. Much can be said about this amazing journey but this is not the place to do so.

Little did I know that my Near-Death-Experience (NDE) had opened a door to the other side. Things started hapening that I did not expect. I started seeing energy, having visions and even hearing a voice. At first, these things frightened me and I tried to repress them. As time went by, I became more confortable and started allowing these things to happen. (I found out much later that an NDE will sometimes bring on abilities such as clairvoyance and clairaudience)

The "Voice" as I call it, does not come often but when it does I listen, for it always guides me in the right direction. One such instance took place a few years ago. I had just purchased several books and had left the bookstore when the "Voice" came. It directed me to go back to the bookstore and guided me towards this book, A Soul's Journey. I purchased the book and I was reading it on the plane back home the following day. The "Voice" came again and said: "a sister will sit next to you". I was so absorbed by the book that I did not pay attention to the young woman who sat next to me. She initiated the conversation by asking what book I was reading and what it was all about. I told her about the teachings in the book which lead me to also tell her about my NDE. She started crying, telling me she had been praying for over a year asking for a sign that there is life after death. And here we were... this book and I on her path. I never saw her again. But I trust that my story and the teachings in this book came when she needed them.

This is an extraordinary book! Not only is there life after death but there is purpose to your life. You are the physical extension of your divine self. Reading this book will help you understand the journey you are on.

... a sequence of events and coincidences to powerfull to ignore culminated with the sales assistant giving me a copy of this book to read and return whenever... I did not put it down. It so aligns with a certain 'gut feel' that I had had for so long, answers questions I have held for so long and explains the esoteric events of my life... so far. As if to encourage me to keep on going, to trust life as it unfolds. This books adds a powerful perspective of the bigger picture. It gives a sense of belonging, purpose, and took me forward a massive quantum leap. First published in 1953, the context is of another time perhaps but the relevance remains very, very strong. It will add perspective to your ponderings and strengthen your understanding of the 'big picture'. A clear and easly understood read - I wish I had read it earlier...

I read this book in Brazil during the seventies. I gave it as a present to many friends. The amazing story Mr. Richelieu tells, as a real experience, makes a lot of sense for all who came in contact with facts beyond the physical realms, as it makes sense for me. The author tells about the mystic "Acharya" who visits him one day in Colombo, Sri Lanka, during the II World War, after the author lost his younger pilot brother. The mysterious visitor starts to answer his questions, over a series of meetings, about life after death and later takes him to the astral planes and beyond, through guided conscious astral projections, so that mr. Richelieu can experience everything for himself. The whole book is fascinating. I've read somewhere that Mr. Richard Matheson used this book as part of his extensive bibliography listed in the book "What dreams may come", that was later adapted as a movie, with Robin Williams.
To say the least this book brings a lot of interesting insights to the naïve Judeo-Christian belief system about life after death, that was amusingly represented when preacher Billy Graham was asked by CNN's Larry King what he, Mr. Graham, would say to the (Christian) "God Almighty", when facing "Him" in the "heaven". Mr. Graham ("spiritual advisor to many "US commander in chiefs", since Eisenhower) answered that even though he had been studying the bible for dozens of years (maybe 60?), he still hadn't understood some parts of the "holly" book, so he would ask "God" to "explain them" to him! This shows where Christianity is standing. With some research, anyone can know that the Bible is a huge patchwork of stories and tales borrowed from mythology from Sumeria, Egypt, India and Greece, among others. And Lao Tzu in his Tao Te Ching defined "God" better than anyone else I read, when he says: The TAO is older than god.
Mr. Richelieu brings new light to reconstruct the present western naive paradigm about life after death, god and religions, as his guide, the kind and wise Indian Acharya sheds light on these matters in a sober and profound way, without attacking anyone or imposing any sectarian religious beliefs or dogmas. Five stars is the minimum for such a book, written in simple language anyone can relate to. For those who can read portuguese language, the Brazilian edition can be found in any religious/esoteric corner of our bookstores (or at the brazilian ebay partner site, mercadolivre_dot_com) for a fraction price of the rare and expensive english editions, the title there is "A Viagem de uma Alma".

If you ever wondered about this, read this book. I read this book as a teenager and re-read it again recently. It is based on a true story based on the author's experience. He was taken out of his body to visit the 'other side' of death. Reading this book gives a person hope and reassurance that death is not the end. There are other books published about life after death but I think this is one of the earlier books and the message remains the same. It's not the comfort or material gain one takes to the other side, instead it is compassion and love.

This book was a quick read for me. It was interesting, enlightening and even heartwarming! The children tell of seeing the Light- an all-knowing, all-loving being that made them never want to return to their earthly bodies!!

I have read numerous books on the subject of NDE's. This one touched me like not other I have on the subject. Dr Morse has written many books on the subject as it is apparent he has dedicated a large part of his life studying the facets of the near death experience. Let me just say that this book is always by my bed. It's pages have been read many times over, so much so, that they are now worn. Very well written, very enlightening. Powerful.

One day in 1995 I died, and had a NDE. Ever since then, I've been reading everything I can on the subject. I first read Dr. Morse's collection of near-death experiences in the mid-1980s when death was only an academic subject for a thiry-something person. I was fascinated by the accounts he and physician Raymond Morse had collected from patients and felt a sense of reassurance that the compiler was a scientist. The stories are so compelling, it is hard to put down the book. These reports changed my outlook on life. Now, about two decades later, this book makes it easier to accept a most shattering loss, the passing of my partner and husband of 33 years. However, I'm more drawn now, not to the accounts of "tourists," who have gone and come back, but the permanent residents whom mediums like George Anderson have interviewed.

At the age of 19, David Oakford overdosed on PCP and had what he refers to as an NDE--near-death experience. While he says he is not a religious person, the experience caused him to see Jesus as a "Master Teacher," and set out to emulate him. Oakford says his NDE put him at "the crossroads of crisis and opportunity" and showed him that "life, death, and rebirth were about the use, abuse and recycling of life force energies." This is heady subject matter, but Oakland tells his story in a way that makes you feel as if you were listening rather than reading.

This is a short book, but quite interesting. The author's writing style is casual & enjoyable. There are many parallels between his experience and the experiences related in Michael Newton's books Journey of Souls and Destiny of Souls. The information in this book rings true and provides good food for thought.

David Oakford bravely welcomes each person into the emotional, spiritual and physical hardships of his personal life. Like a painting, he creates a visual image through emotional expression while allowing individuals to relate to his deep and moving experiences.

"Journey through the World of Spirit" is a heart felt story of spiritual movement that tells the tale of life, death and rebirth. It shows us, in a positive and real way, the effects of our actions as well as a grander purpose for all that we chose while on Gaia.

His words are no less than pure poetry. His goal to share his story not only supersedes his lessons of wisdom, but also inspires us, in such a way, to change the negative patterns in our life.

Interesting read. I was fascinated by this man's depiction of otherworldly realms outside this world. Sometimes I felt it was a bit farfetched, but I kept reading because I was compelled to find out what happened next. Interspersed were bits of humor, keeping the reading light. Who would have nicknamed an angel "Bob"?

This is not your typical NDE story. The beginning of the story follows the typical NDE experiences and insights, but as the book develops, we are told that our world is trillions of years old, humans are descendants of space aliens who artifically inseminated monkeys or gorillas, , and .... best left for the reader.

I wonder whether Moshe Zwang, has gone a little too far? and perhaps his imagination has controlled and overpowered his actual experiences.

Good read, many insights, and keeps me wondering.

What would be the criteria for rating this book is not what is written in it but how ready are you for it ..... It is simply a step in the explanation of all . To some it might be perceived as pure fiction, to some it would be ridiculous, to others simply the truth. The truth sometimes stares us in the face, but we still fail to realize it simply because we are too fixated on the values and ideas that had been imprinted in ou minds (or our ancesstors minds) for the last thousands of years. but we have mentally evolved we now realize that the earth is not the centre of the universe, that the our plant is one amongst trillions of planets and not the only one ..... but we still fail to even question ideas and beleifs that were passed to us over hundereds of years cause of fear ..... fear of hell fear of being rates as superstituous , or any other fear ........ All I can say is that to the investigating individual, to the open minded student of the truth this is , the least to say, a revelation and enlightment that is a corner stone for more understanding for the human race. One complaint to the writer, or dictator, of this book .... it is simply not fair to keep the remiander of this with you ... it is your duty to give the whole truth so those who are ready can benefit from it .... five years is a long time.

The truth sometimes stares us in the face, but we still fail to realize it simply because we are too fixated on the values and ideas that had been imprinted in ou minds (or our ancesstors minds) for the last thousands of years. but we have mentally evolved we now realize that the earth is not the centre of the universe, that the our plant is one amongst trillions of planets and not the only one ..... but we still fail to even question ideas and beleifs that were passed to us over hundereds of years cause of fear ..... fear of hell fear of being rates as superstituous , or any other fear ........ All I can say is that to the investigating individual, to the open minded student of the truth this is , the least to say, a revelation and enlightment that is a corner stone for more understanding for the human race. One complaint to the writer, or dictator, of this book .... it is simply not fair to keep the remiander of this with you ... it is your duty to give the whole truth so those who are ready can benefit from it .... five years is a long time.

What would be the criteria for rating this book is not what is written in it but how ready are you for it ..... It is simply a step in the explanation of all . To some it might be perceived as pure fiction, to some it would be ridiculous, to others simply the truth. Wenny Has Wings

(1.) This book is about a young boy named, Will and his sister named, Wenny. Will and Wenny where walking down the street and got ran over by a truck. Wenny died and went to heaven. Will's heart stopped for 10 minuets. Will said he sped through a dark tunnel when he died. Then we flew around in the sky. After that he said he woke up in the hospital. Will blames he's self for Wenny's death. He thinks there must have been something he could have done so prevent the accident. His parents said to him
"Why did it have to be Wenny?"
Will got very upset because we thought they meant they would rather have him die then Wenny. They meant why Wenny had to die. Will's pastor tells him that when he's angry, he should write letters to god, but Will decides he'd rather write to Wenny, so will writes to Wenny every day, maybe even 2 or 3 times a day. In his writing we talks about many things. Most of the time when Will writes to Wenny he is talking about stuff he did that day and some times he talks about how much he misses Wenny. 50% of the time he writes he is in the hospital trying to get well, so he can go home and go back to school to see all of his friends. When he gets home he is very excited, but that is just until his parents seem very depress. Will thinks that talking about his near-death experience may comfort his and help heal his family, but no one seems willing to listen to him and talk to him about it.

(2.) This book was very exciting to read because you did not know what was going to happen next. For example one of the notes Will wrote to Wenny said, "How much Will wanted to see Wenny. The next thing you know he is saying his mom is pregnant and she is getting ready to have a baby, so they are taking every thing out of Wenny's room and painting the room and putting in stuff for the new baby. The only thing that I really was disappointing was the end of the story. I thought it was disappointing because it just had the last letter and said love Will on it. It did not say anything like I will miss you or I will write to you soon again. It just stopped. I did not really like that.

(3.) I really liked Janet Lee Carey's writing because it's not like a long story where nothing really exciting happens. It is written more like an AIM or like a journal. I really enjoy these kinds of writings because I can relate to them a lot and I really enjoy writing AIM to friends. I have not read any other books by this author but I am soon planning on it.

(4.) If I could rate this book 1-10 I would defiantly rate it a 9. I would rate it a 9 because I really think it is a fantastic book. I would recommend you reading it.

I thought that book was the best book that I have ever read. It was sad when Wenny died because of a truck. And it was just the way the book was made and I could proubly read this book any day. It was just the way the author had wrote the book alot of wondeful details in it and the book was just out standing. It was the the family was falling apart because of when Wenny died it changed everthing and then later through out the book it was like there family was like done the parents have been aruing alot and then at the end of the book well close to it they bacame a better family and Will felt like they were a family agian and the new baby was comming and there parents hated going into wennny room but they had to do it that was going to be the new babys room.Will made sure though to leave some of Wennys things in there for the baby and Will had been trying every thing to tell his parentsd about how he felt when he died and they would just nevr listen to him and will felt like he was just a nobody and he wanted all of that to change well it did and they alll became a great family agian and they were sill pretty happy except for when Wenny died

There is a brother and and a sister named Wenny and Will. Will is older than Wenny! One day they both go walking to the auto part-store to get parts for their derby car,when all of a sudden a truck came out from no-where and hits the two kids, because the brakes went out on his truck.It killed the little girl and broke his leg and ruptured his spleen.While they were operating on him his heart stopped for a whole ten minutes, he claimed he saw the white light. The boy has to stay in the hospital for a while. His mother and father hardley ever stay in the room with Will.His mother is expecting another baby soon the end

This is a great book it tell readers to watch out and be careful when their crossing the road, but also they need to know the whole conversation before they start blaming people for doing stuff.
Will and Wenny were on their way into town to get a part for will cart thing when they got hit by a truck that tried to stop but it just wouldnt. They both died, but when they were dead Will saw Wenny flying ahead of him going to a light person in a big hole in the sky, then will felt a blast of energy and saw his parents in the waiting room while the dockter was reviving him. He woke up a while later with a broken legg and asked his mom if they used the paddle things on Wenny too. It was too much so mom started crying and left the room.Will starts writing letters to Wenny in a blank book that the youth minister gave him, and he gets into a lot of trouble trying to make his parents happy again. Icant tell you any more becouse that would ruin it so your just going to have to get the book.
This book makes readers lauph and cry its a great book you would enjoy it, I DID.

In the beging of the story Wenny and her brother was off to the craft store to get patches for the the scout troops so they can get badges made for the leader and the troop. Wenny's brother didn't like her following him, she never played barbie dolls or baby dolls she just wanted to play with his toys and do the things he wanted to do. One day they were on there way back from the craft store from getting the badges when the truck pop over the hill and the truck hit the 2 kids and there cat's tail. When the guy got out of the truck he notice that the little girl was nearly alive and the boy was atill alive so the boy was sent to the hospital and the cat got token to the vet but the sister died on the way there. The guy who was driving the truck sent him a card that was girly saying I'm sorry that i hit your kids and that i will do anything for to help you and your kid
