This book is in a class of its own. The US Department of State uses this book's legal arguments as a basis for its position, that the 4th Geneva Convention does indeed apply to the Israeli occupation of the West bank, Gaza Strip, Golan Heights, and East Jerusalem.

I loved this book. A delecious sense of satire is peppered all the way through. THere is just a taste of malice beneath the surface to keep it edgy. The story of an average to sub-average man. (in mind anyhow) It tells his tale as he goes to make mmoney in a killing gtame where you are sometimes Hunter....sometimes Victim. Intriguing storyline and excellent delvelopment make this a must read

Hush, makes me think seriously about how to approach sex with 6 1/2 year old son. I think of the don't(s) I have shared with him and the foundation of fear I have instilled. I talk with him about how children are conceived but it seems like a patch work of information. No solid route or proactive stance. I need to really find resources to introduce sacred, safe sexuality to him.
I can't wait to ask him if he has had his first kiss. Reading Hush also exposed a tradition of fear around adolescent sex and our tradition of leaving the subject in others hands. Kudos to the author for her courage and sincerity to encourage dialog around the subject of sex, incest, and sacred sexuality. A great beginning for parents to decide now how to present to our children and how to begin to heal from past sexual exploitations.
Thanks for your work!

AFRICAN AMERICAN WOMEN CAN HEAL

This book is long overdue, for years the sexual abuse of African-American women and girls has been largely ignored by white and black communities. Sexual abuse and racism go hand-in-hand, yet myths persist that sexually abused African-American women and girls are traitors to black men and boys if they refuse to accept black male sexual abuse is acceptable, because black males experience racism. Sexual abuse is not separate from racism it is interlinked and this book shows African-American women and girls how they can seek help and heal from the devasation of sexual abuse. It is about African-American women and girls who refuse to be victims but are survivors. A must read for all who are involved in challenging male sexual violence perpetrated upon women and girls of all ethnicities and cultures.

My children are MSU graduates so I am especially proud of Dr. Collins affiliation with this fine institution and I am a fan of her work.
The only thing I would add is the advantage of an Identity Theft Shield. Yes, we can take care of a lot of these steps on our own. However, most people's lives are very busy and complicated and they do not have time to do all they can do to protect themselves. Further, if/when they are victims ~ why re-invent the wheel? Have professionals work for you.

I am a psychologist working in a college counselor center, and I highly recommend this book. It is designed to help male loved ones of a female rape survivors to understand rape from a woman's point of view, and thus it is appropriate for boyfriends, husbands, fathers, and male friends. The individual chapters address important issues such as understanding rape, dealing with immediate concerns, and reporting rape. The book offers specific guidelines and suggestions on how to help the survivor, including do's and don'ts, what to say to the survivor and others, and how to provide reassurance. Finally, three helpful appendices provide case studies, a list of rape crisis centers throughout the US and Canada, and a bibliography of suggested readings. A must-have book for men providing support to the women they love.

This book inspires not a passive acceptance, but a firm resolve to work effectively to free girls and women from oppression and violence, and to return to their dignity in the full exercise of their rights. Slavery is alive and thriving to finance drug addictions within this country. American women and children are sold to amateur porn videos to support cowardly and addictive men in their vile ways. This is one woman's unwitting story of this horrifying ordeal. Copies may also be got at justicedenied.org

This is an outstanding story of triumph in the life and death struggle with the disease of cancer. The author discribes how to move beyond fear to action, the power of hope and faith, and the importance of being an equal partner in one's own treatment. This should be required reading for every medical student. I strongly believe anybody diagnosed with cancer or loves someone with cancer should read this book.

A story that for some might be hard to believe but for others, who have suffered at the hands of an abuser very believable! This book offers incredible hope, would make an awesome movie! Some love 'dirty laundry' others have lived like lives. Would be a great match to a nineties Daddy dearest...in this world where we life every day hearing stories of things that happen to 'other peoples kids' well what would it be like to be the 'other person's kid?' Man, what a thought, did anyone ever take the time to think what that would be like? Maybe it's because of stories like these that our jails are so full, or perhaps could be empty? What a concept, to let abusers read this, survivors... perhaps it would make that difference, lower that jail supporting almighty tax dollar perhaps? Heavy story really heavy but encouraging too! a must read, a must give to friend and foe alike! written by a survivor, transcender...
