If you are sick of all the Frommers, Lonely Planet Guides etc, - or you have absorbed all they have to give you, have a look at this gorgeous little guide. Great photos, brief but informative and personal narrative. I have been to Paris several times, but plan to take this guide with me next time - just to find those little shops that you might not go into without a nudge, and actually ALL of the cafes look good!!

Beautiful photography, concise writing, enticing descriptions---I already have the basic travel guides telling me how to exchange money and get around on the train, this guide tells what to do to have a truly Parisian experience. If you love locally owned restaurants and boutiques, this is like pornography. Absolutely yummy.

On a recent trip to Paris, this was the only "guide book" my husband and I used...and each recommendation was a pleasant surprise. Unique locations in each arrondissement and a variety of meal options from traditional French dinners to low-key drinks. The shops were unique and interesting as well. This book fills a void for those looking for something off the beaten track and with a strong dose of French flair. I will highly recommend this book to my friends traveling to Paris!

Amazing book connecting all the dots you know in asset pricing, macro, general equil'um, etc. You come out of it refreshed, feeling you are a different person.

This book presents an excellent summary of the toolbox that students and professionals must manage in order to understand the numberless amount of modern contributions on asset pricing. All recent advances in the use of risk and uncertainty are presented with simple and direct language, and without useless mathematical sophistication. A needed help for asset pricing courses intended to graduate students.

Gollier has written a book that not many others could have written. It is VERY complete, it is full of deep insights, and, for me, it is a pleasure to read. Don't be mistaken: this is a research book, not a textbook. But for those of us doing research in decision theory, general equilibrium, finance, or macroeconomics, it is simply a must. How could you afford NOT to buy it?

I'm giving this book 5 stars but if you're not into metaphysical, philosophical type of information you may not enjoy it.

The Cayce material is already esoteric enough on its own. Combine Cayce's philosophy with the already confusing Book Of Revelation and you end up with a very deep discussion.

Keep in mind the second part of the title is:

A Study Guide For Spiritualizing Body And Mind

The author is very much into the 'inner life' which involves using meditation techniques to unlock information contained in the subconscious mind.

He includes a lot of that type of information in the book (Part 2) since Cayce said the Revelation was itself a result of the apostle John going into a deep meditative state.

There is so much information in this book that I'm having a hard time summarizing the key points.

One point is Cayce related the Revelation to the human body. The seven 'churches' correspond to the 7 spiritual centers or 'chakras' in the body.

The four 'beasts' in the story are man's lower spiritual centers. Our more animalistic tendancies that must be overcome.

There's a lot of numerology in the Book Of Revelation. The numbers seven and twelve come up a lot. I think there are twelve universes.

If you're looking for dramatic revelations about who the anti Christ is and where the battle of Armeggedon will occur forget this book. For Cayce these were mainly spiritual concepts rather that actual people and events.

But yet Cayce did mention that the scriptures often have a literal, spiritual, and metaphysical interpretation and he hints in a few places that some parts of the Revelation do correspond to actual people and events.

I am finding with the Cayce material that he focused mainly on the spiritual aspects of things.

Still I recommend this book for anyone who is into meditation and similar types of searching or if you want to read an alternate interpretation for the Book Of Revelation.

Edgar Cayce was very mysterious. He provided answers to any questions that were posed to him regardless of the subject. Philosophy, science, ancient history, health, reincarnation.

We may sometimes forget that he had no noticeable way to obtain all of this information.

This is one of the most facinating books I have read about Revelation. It is almost a step by step guide to spiritualize your mind and body. I like the way the author states this process is not only a journey of the individual but of humanity as group to undertatke. This book will be understood best by students of metaphysics 101 or those who have previous exposure to the Edgar Cayce materials. Also, there are many of the same symbols and achetypes used in Revelation that the tarot uses, so tarot devotees will enjoy this book as well.

This book is a study guide and explanation of the mystic readings of Edgar Cacye as given to him in a sleep state by his guide. The first part gives an overview of what his readings revealed chapter by chapter through the Bible book of Revelation. After the study, the actual readings with the actual reading numbers as recorded by Cayce's secretary are listed. Those who have not studied Edgar Cacye's readings may find this book confusing, and may want to begin with "The Sleeping Profit" so they gain an understand of the readings, what the numbers represent, and how Cacye was but a vessel for mystical information to be revealed to mankind in this time and age. This book is not an easy read, and will take time to absorb the teachings. What the author does, however, is combine readings and place them in an order the reader can understand in accordance with the writings of Revelation in The Bible

This text was required for a class in School Administration in my post grad class at Seton Hall University. The author is easy to follow along with as he presents theories along with examples of organizational life in the education system. An excellent chapter on the Culture and Climate of Schools can be used by administrators in any field to better recognize these characteristics, as well as organizational health, before taking steps to change the culture or climate. Another very good chapter deals with Leadership in Schools and helps to identify the various theories of leadership and the strengths and weaknesses associated with each type. A great book for administrators in either the private or public sector.

"The educational and Occupational Attainment Process," which was written by Yukiko Inoue, is an experiment study of factors influencing status attainment in the United States. The purpose of this study is to define educational attainment and occupational attainment among adolescents. In addition, the author intended to find the process, which women attain their status in this research. This study did focus on women's status attainment as well as men's. Therefore, the author stated three interesting points, which are 1) women in American Higher Education, 2) the status attainment process between men and women, 3) impacts of marriage and children. The result of this study would apply to today's adolescents, because 1) the attainment process is found to be similar for men and women, 2) the importance of educational aspiration is still the determinant of educational attainment for American adolescents. This study makes its results so clear that American adolescents today can seek their way of attaining their status by reading this book. This study can be used for counseling adolescents, who are in the transition from high school to the occupational world. In addition, this study will help both schoolars and students in the different countries to compare own country to the U.S. I enjoyed reading this study a lot, because I have all my educational background in Japan, so it caught my attention in a great deal. It gave me a chance to get to know American adolescents, who are attaining their education and occupation. From my experience, I found out that the reason why educational attainment will guide students in the U.S. to occupational attainment is that American students tend to major, of which they can make use, for their occupation. That means that whatever they study in college will apply for jobs that they are interested in. This is a big differences between Japanese students and American students. People in the U.S. seem to enjoy their occupation and make full use of what they learned in college. I understood that people in the U.S. and Japan have different way of attaining their status. What motivates young adults to go to college and to choose a career? This scholarly research study examines the multiple and interrelated variables which influence the educational and occupational aspirations of American high school seniors during the transition to college, their attainment levels in early adulthood, and the economic, psychological and social influences on educational attainment and early occupational attainment. The research involved surveying more than 2,100 high school seniors (Class of 1972) who responded five times between 1972 and 1986, from approximately age 18 to age 32. The complex multivariate methodology process analyzes the dynamics of the variables of: socioeconomic status, gender, ability, academic performance, significant others' influence (parents, teachers and peers), educational and occupational aspirations, marital status and number of children, and educational and occupational attainment.

The study finds that the level of educational attainment is determined, in order of significance, by: ability, academic performance, significant others' influence, and socioeconomic status. Further, the author posits that occupational attainment is a consequence, in order of magnitude, of: ability, academic performance, educational aspiration, socioeconomic status, occupational aspiration, sex, significant others' influence, and the number of children. In addition, the process of aspiration and attainment is consistent for men and women.

Includes five figures, eleven tables, an excellent bibliography and an index.

Recommended for teachers, school counselors, educational administrsators, school board members and parents.

This is a text, but is very informative and easy to read. It certainly is applicable to the subject matter for which it is being used.

This is a simple to follow instruction book that guides you through reviewing and writing an Educational Research paper. It provides easy to follow explanations on Quantitative and Qualitative Research methods, as well as details on running these types of research with integrity. The website that you gain access to for this book is phenomenal with a self-study guide and quiz for each chapter. I had to purchase this book for a Master's Program I am in, but it will be one I keep on my shelf of treasured resources.

EG 2 is a good read: it's packed with information, references from literature, scientific papers, and data from a variety of sources. Valone effectively demonstrates that the Biefeld-Brown Effect IS a real, valid reactionless-propulsion methodology.

If you're looking for another "Hunt for Zero Point", then this book isn't for you. However, if you want a resource that provides both a comprehensive view of the historical efforts in this area along with detailed technical descriptions of the actual experimental work, then you've come to the right place.

PhD Tom Valone deftly weaves the reader through a journey that's part history & part science while maintaining an easily comprehensible approach to both that few authors could manage.

Succeeding to the book by T.Valone, "Electrogravitics systems", this is a nice pack of discovories on the Biefeld-Brown effect, which also contains the scientific validation conducted by different research teams in the world. It might be very helpful for reserchers to make further investigations on the electro-gravitic effect.

Interesting and scientific explanation of the electrokinetic force which also predicts why and how most electrogravitic devices will move. The historical articles are also intriguing, besides the testimonials. More compelling and convincing than first book in the series - Electrogravitics Systems. Maybe the discovery of pulsed electrokinetics will now be declassified as a result of the publication of this book.

Nowadays every spreadsheet program such as Excel or 123 come with a complete Statistics module that can crunch the numbers in an instant and give you a complete analysis of any set of numbers, leaving those who grew up with MINITAB in awe.

However, what these powerful programs won't and can't help you, is in grasping the meaning it. When to decide when to reject or accept a null hypothesis. Let alone what all that means. This is where this CD-ROM/ book set come into play.

The program provides a very comprehensive introductory course in Statistics. It has some very interesting videos on real life applications to Statistics, more than 200 self score test questions and a very comprehensive and logically structured text.

Perhaps this product won't replace a tutor, but it definitely help Students, Home Schoolers, or anybody interested in Statistics to increase their understanding of this some times obscure art. I think it is definitely a winner.

I know when I earn a score of 100% on a section, that I really do understand the material, and have not simply memorized it. I am able to apply those concepts to real-world situations, analyze data, and form conclusions. If this is what a statistician does, I'm seriously considering pursuing a career in this field. I never thought math could be "fun"...until now! This is a great product!

This book is packed with hands on activities and includes student and teacher background information - very useful stuff! I have used it with middle school kids and other people in my district have found it useful at the high school level. Covers full range of environmental concerns including global warming and energy issues.

The book is divided into the various environmental problems which exist in the United States, and has activities revolving around each problem. The book's basic assertion is that the rise in population is the real reason for all of the environmental problems that exist today, which is, in my opinion, is correct. As a result, I generally use the section on population first to bring home that concept, and then cover the other environmental problems. It is an excellent resource for teaching environmental science or the environmental part of Biology. The book emphasizes activities which show the student what they can do about each problem, and at least makes them aware of what is happening if there is nothing that they can directly do. This book could also be used by social science teachers covering the environment since it emphasizes using discussion groups to derive some of the answers about the various problems. The book, also, is easy to use since it has recommendations in the book how the teacher can execute each activity, and has a list of expected answers to questions you may assign as homework or classwork.

Contains lots of labs, many of which I had not seen before online or in other sources. Can be used in middle grades or high school. Every thing you need is there. Explanations for the teacher are more than sufficient. No guesswork. Is applicable to every science field - earth science, chemisty, biology, etc. A good buy.

Pendley's Guide is divided into separate sections on Rope Rescue, Confined Space Rescue, Swiftwater Rescue, Trench Rescue, Structural Collapse Rescue, and Helicopter Operations.

Each section is illustrated with line drawings that are amply annotated and easy to understand. This Guide is a reference I plan to use for training and on-scene incident size-up and execution of complex rescue operations. It measures 4"x7"x0.5", so it will fit in most of the pockets of my rescue jumpsuit. I've tested the paper; it's water-resistant but not water-proof. The pages are pretty sturdy, though, and should take a moderate beating in the field without ripping out of the spiral binding.

This is just what we need when we are confronted with a challenge that has a high risk factor and requires a by-the-book approach. Of course, it will be next to useless unless we practice using it, as a team, in varying evolutions on the practice field.

Not only is this field guide the most comprehensive of its type, but it also has the best illustrations of any rescue book on the market. The guide is clear and precise in it's scope and presents the subject matter in a manner that is easy to understand and retain. This is a "must have" for anyone involved in technical rescue or interested in becoming a technical rescuer. This is "cutting edge" stuff presented in a way that is understandable and approachable. National guidelines have been carefully researched and followed by the author. In the realm of rescue publications the bar of excellence has been raised several notches by this book!

Lets face it, when you're talking about a technical rescue operation, there is a LOT to remember - and one small omission can quickly become a tragedy. I consider this book an essential part of my TRT equipment.

The book is thoughtfully laid out, so quick references can be made with ease. The illustrations are comprehensive and concise, but not over done. This makes them easy to read and understand, even under the pressure of a rescue situation or night operation. The straightforward layout makes it effortless to compare what you HAVE done, with how it SHOULD be done safely. I've found that significantly adds to my confidence before I "go over the edge". Safety is paramount in all aspects of this guide.

Even though there are differences in operational techniques regionally, the basics that are covered in the book will get you through your operation -- including rope rescue, swift water rescue, helicopter operations, trench rescue, etc.

I also own the previous edition. The author has kept the same basic formula, while fine tuning the content and improving the illustrations. I like the new look.

Make no mistake though, this is NOT an instructional text - it is a FIELD GUIDE for trained personnel, and a really good one at that.

The author's experience teaching this subject is obvious; he keeps things simple very readable. If you do this type of work - or aspire to, I highly recommend this book.
