Edge of your seat suspense in every chapter!

Deadly Messenger offers a realistic twist to the world of chatting on the Internet. Pedophiles and cyber-sex addicts have nothing on the Cyber-Slasher; a serial killer stalking lonely women he meets on the Net. Although the novel has gruesome and mild sexual content it's worth reading simply for the thrill of it. From the first page, the reader is caught in the web of suspense and intrigue. Honestly, not bad for a first time author. The print was interesting, but being double-spaced made it very easy reading. This novel will definitely make you wonder who your kids are talking to on the Internet!!!

A mystery killer is using the labyrinthine coast of Florida as his grisly playground, operating out of its marinas and small resort towns. He moves from port to port, tempting beautiful women aboard his classic yacht, where they are grotesquely murdered...then their mutilated bodies are dumped into the waves. The corpses are swalled by the ever-flowing Gulf Stream, providing an almost impossible situation for the investigating officers - no crime scene, no clues, no forensics.
With the expert help of the Violent Crimes division of the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, the Marine Patrol is assigned to the case. When the perpetrator is identified as an ex-cop who knows all the tricks, the chase becomes personal. Two volunteers - one male, one female - go undercover and start to comb the Everglades and Keys, aided by a local Seminole officer.
But the killer senses they are hot on his heels taunts pursuers until he makes one fatal error...

Though billed as a Bob Skinner book he is not prominently a part of the story until the last 4th of the book. Again, a well crafted story that keeps your attention. Jardine's prose and style are hard to put down. I recommend this book.

With all the action one has already enjoyed in this story, there turns out to be plenty left in this thoroughly enjoyable, engrossing mystery by Sandra Waldron. I just put it down and I feel like I've come out of a blender. Because of the final mad swirl of activity, where you can finally see how good your detective skills really were, I owe you a special duty to clam up and say NOTHING...other than I'm sorry it's over. one hell of a ride...one hell of a read!! Five Stars all the way!!! John W. Cassell

Hooked on the very first chapter!!!

Whisper By, Louisiana reminded me vividly of the Maryland that knew no commuters. A state very proud of its southern heritage. Author Waldron paints a vivid picture of the creaking old buildings, its inhabitants wracked by malnutrition, with eyes and suspicions hardened by lives of poverty. it takes off from there! The protagonist is dropped into the little town where gossip is ablaze over the murder of Sarah Mae. Her [protagonist] first night had me finding all the major characters guilty...and immediately buying parts 2 and 3. It's a gripping story that grabs you from the get-go. Five Stars! A parallel description of a similar place...tho Amish in provenance...is in Ch 15 of DeVilliers County Blues...also carried by amazon: Devilliers County Blues - Chapter 15

Michael can't be alive...can he?

I've never been to a real swamp, but now I almost feel I have. With the author's vivd descriptions I could almost feel my clothes hanging damp and sticky as I contemplate the ghostly tree moss and the fog lying along the wet ground. I'm determined to solve this thing and some new characters were added to the mix including the mysterious Agnes Jeffries. I thought she was an old woman at first...don't think so now. The night on the bog gives me the creeps but I appreciate the extra coolness. Great story!!!!Five Stars For description of New Jersey pine barrens see chapter "The Summertime Blues" in Crossroads: 1969

Tanja Digs Deeper
Helpful Votes: 13 out of 13 total.
Review Date: 2007-05-18
The reader feels he's becoming at home in Whisper By. The creaky old structures and the townsfolk with their gossip, suspicions, even trust loom larger as I try to advance my burning desire to figure out who-done-it. I won't give anything away...it'san engrossing story and each piece of it makes you eager for the next. Suffice it to say the young protagonist is sure hanging out there with her ideas of who can she trust. No new characters are added...the reader just gets to know several of them better...and gets to worrying that Tanja won't get herself in water too deep...that's a pun...son!!! This installment ends at a particularly tantalizing place...Five Stars for the author's outstanding ability to orchestrate suspense!!!

The Problem With Twins...
Helpful Votes: 12 out of 12 total.
Review Date: 2007-05-29
All sorts of problems get built into a plot where twins are involved and Sandra Waldron is making the most of it!!! Why did gordon's voice suddenly change? Why did he forget the meeting with Tanja? Betsy looks at Gordon as the villian. Uncle Ben had Michael's funeral out of town. Gordon gives away his keepsake from Gertrude. Was the Michael the one who really died? Did either of them? Hoo boy!!! Sandra can sure spin a mystery. However wrapped around the axle I am at the moment, there are certainly some odd similarities in the deaths of Gertrude and Sarah Mae. I wouldn't spoil it for you for the world...and I'm only asking questions...not answering them. Suffice it to say wild horses couldn't keep me from Tanja's meeting with Agnes...and wherever that might lead. Five Stars for ever-building suspense...at least I haven't arrested Aunt Clara....yet!!! It was like Yankee Stadium at the Beach That Night...
Helpful Votes: 12 out of 12 total.
Review Date: 2007-05-30
...or was it? we know from past episodes every major suspect hangs out there...Gordon...George...Uncle Ben...Michael if he's still alive because if he is still alive, that's where his father supplies him. even Aunt Clara was on edge that night. does the bus driver have an alibi?? Betcha Kathy is pregnant. The plot is really thickening. Now mind you there is also some clue in 'schiesse'...George's reaction to it. Normally the German connection is supposed to be strictly Gordon. If I had to make an arrest now it would be Uncle Ben...he's killing these people to protect Michael[!!!] Anyway a really good story. Since this happens to be my favorite genre I wish Sandra waldron would write more of these!!!! You gotta read this...from the very beginning. The beach was like Yankee Stadium that night too! But I think Kathy was getting too close to the Uncle Ben-Michael axis!!! John W. Cassell

Have Your Heart Medicine Handy....
Helpful Votes: 13 out of 13 total.
Review Date: 2007-06-01
...when you read this one! Sandra Waldron, who all along has run me ragged arresting every character in the story, is now masterfully bringing her tale to a conclusion. My heart was racing all through this one and races all the more when I think of the final chapter looming. On a technical level Sandra is superb with her control of the story's cadence. On a personal level I squirm with fear every time Tanja strikes out on her own in this tale now running at the pace of a freight train down a mountainside. I have now unarrested Uncle Ben and Aunt Clara, but have mounting suspicions of Brother Broat and Michael...and remember, folks, I've been saying he is ALIVE. This is truly lots of fun and I BEG this author to do more mysteries! Five Stars for...well...EVERYTHING! John W. Cassell
