I got this while traveling in europe and it is a funny take on Dr. Who and what he would do in this book. Dr. Whom is a Time Gentleman from the planet Garlic Free. He travels around in his Tardy with two companions, Prose Tailor, and Linnaeus Trout correcting grammatical errors in the universe and stopping bad guys like the Cydermen, Stavros and his Garleks, and his arch enemy The Master Debater. This story is narrated by Prose Tailor and the chapters are out of order but the reason for that will be at the end of the story. This is a good recommendation for any Dr. Who fan or anybody who likes silly reading. (My book cover is a bit different though. The Garlek is shaped like a little trash can and there is a Cyderman on the back cover. Very cute)

This is an absolute hoot for the pet owner. The only problem I had with the magazine is that you have to know famous "brand names" fairly well in order to understand a lot of the jokes it subtly offers.

With references to "Ives Saint Bernard" and "Canine Klein," and pictorals of "supermodel" doggies, readers will find themselves highly amused.

this book is the perfect gift for anyone who has seen the movie, and can't wait for it to come to video/dvd. it is filled with classic quotes from the movie (which just helps bring back the film every time you read it). It's not a good book for anyone who hasn't seen the film. The pages read like this " Fransisco, that's fun to say." .

The contents is truly amazing trivia. I gave this book an "8" because I would have liked to refer to the "index" per topic, with a corresponding page number and a little more information would have made it much easier to randomly scope out the topic of interest for quick reference on favorites. Otherwise it would have earned a "10".

I read this book during my first pregnancy, and honestly, it was more helpful than all the medical guides. It got me to laugh at myself, the perfect de-stressor for the tense expectant mother. From descriptions of the various kinds of birth attendants (like the Old Geezer, who actively dislikes women and treats pregnancy as a disease) to exercises you can do (walk like an Egyptian, waddle like a duck...) to what you'll be looking like this month (stuck in the bathtub) it covers everything (except the medical.) Most expectant mothers with sense of humor will appreciate the authors' gentle poking-of-fun at pregnancy, a laughter that never turns mean or hurtful. The only thing I didn't really like were the tax tips.

Fighting MAD is a collection of various cartoons and comic efforts from MAD Magazine during the late 1950's and early 1960's. Some say the creators of Mad were clearly in the same league as the creators of MONTY PYTHON, THE FAR SIDE, and other offbeat yet hilarious efforts. This book contains Don Martin, Scenes We'd Like To See, and many other varieties. This book is a bit dated and a quick read at fewer than 200 pages, but is still cool and chuckle-inducing.

This unique cookbook is compiled from Freud's own recipes and comments. It is warm and fuzzy and highly amusing at times, and actually has great recipes. I have given three copies as gifts and they were well received.

Well, If you're a geek and you've been following up on GPF through the years or you just got into it, this is a great book containing almost every comic since the last book: Mating call of the North American Computer Geek. It also includes some great color strips from a great cartoonist. Keep drawing them Jeff...

Hamlet the way it should be!

Review Date: 1999-12-15
If "Hamlet" was taught like this in school every kid would love it. All the character you remember from high school like Hamlet, Ophelia, Horatio, Polonius, King Claudius, and Queen Quertrude are in this one to...but with new twists and turns. "Hamlet II", written by the author of such hilarious hits as "Murder at the Howard Johnson's", is "better than the original." Here's the story in a "nutshell." Hamlet's father the king, soon to be the ghost, is killed and Hamlet wants to know who did it. He thinks it was the now King Claudius, Hamlet's Uncle. But he needs to prove this. With the help of his buddies Rosencrantz and Guildenstern he puts on a play to make the King confess his guilt. It is a really funny play with a 90's touch...Laertes is played a gay wanna-be hairdresser. And of course the description of Heaven..."They serve hamburgers and it has golden arches." I recently played Horatio in a production of this and heard some of the longest laughs I have ever heard on stage. One of Sam Bobricks best.
