One of the Funniest Books I've Ever Read!

Do you know how to be cool? What about when you're dating, running after but missing a bus/train, stepped in dog mess, on Facebook, sprayed water on your crotch in the bathroom of a restaurant, at work, at parties, in a car, after you've been dumped, while on holiday, at a job interview, at the airport, on a beach, when your phone rings on a crowded bus/train, at the gym, on the dancefloor, proposing marriage, when talking to teenagers, in a bar, caught downloading pornography, as well as during many other occasions or hurdles life throws at you? You don't! Then you need this book!

Will Smith is one of Britain's leading comedians (no it's not the same Fresh Prince, Independence Day American actor Will Smith) and this is an extremely funny book that sets about teaching you the uncool one, how to be cool. This guide covers all the major occasions of life as well as every day life in general.

Lessons from society are common place throughout the pages, for example we the reader learn why in Star Wars (and you'll learn not to even mention those uncool prequel movies) Hans Solo is very cool and Luke Skywalker deeply uncool. Such as Solo is a top pilot, wears cool clothes, has fastest ship in galaxy and is best friends with a wookie. Whereas Luke loses light sabers, wears a judo outfit, fancies his sister and his best friend is a gay robot.

Will Smith has provided a number of multiple choice quizzes along the way as well so you can test yourself and tell if the advice is sinking in or not and if you are indeed becoming cool.

Much advice to help you out in life. For example during a job interview when asked to mention one of your faults you'll learn that "I like to stalk people, I'm following a few of your staff, and a job here will really make the days shifts easier" is not the most appropriate response. Will Smith suggests a number of lines such as "My superior qualities make my colleagues question the validity of every aspect of their existence." After you've read the book future success will be all yours.

If you like this book also check out Hardly Working: The Overachieving Underperformer's Guide to Doing as Little as Possible in the Office. Another British comedian who writes in a similar style is Dave Gorman. His books Are You Dave Gorman? and Dave Gorman's Googlewhack Adventure are also must reads.

You Will be funnier After reading this book !!

I purchased a lot of books to develop my stand-up act. I thought I was losing my natural sense of humor that I developed much earlier in my life. Steve Allen's book had me throwing out one liners three hours into it. Following his examples, I found it easy to reverse thoughts, change meanings and come up with new ideas. Although Steve's book starts out slow with a long definition of what is funny, once you get past Steve's ramblings, the book picks up momentum and puts your brain on receptive. I reccommend this book highly for anyone who wants a beginning book to help develop their sense of humor.

I got this as a present for my friend who loves anything scifi. It is nicely laid out and is very interesting. Reminded me a little of the HHGTTG. A great coffee table book and quite a conversation starter.

If you have read every self help book on the market, and are still unhappy and unfulfilled, then this book is for you. A hilarious send-up of the whole self-help genre, and I would say that even if I wasn't married to the author. As the back cover says: "This book isn't just reverse psychology, it's PERVERSE psychology."

Hilarious Twist!

Review Date: 2006-10-05
This book is so funny because it's true! It reveals the things we all do to mess our lives up, but in a twisted way that made me laugh- a lot. We had a dinner party with friends, taking turns reading passages from this book. In between tears of laughter, someone would shout, "I do that!"
This book is a must for those who are tired of all the same old self help crap out there.

Some of the chapter titles include:
How to Get Dumped,
How to Get Fired,
How to Get Stressed,
How to Get Depressed
& How to Get Angry

This book is hilarious reverse psychology!!!
Enjoy!

Having grown up in Pennsylvania Dutch Country, I find that this is one book that I can relate to very well (or ferry vell). This book really hits the nail on the head when in comes to the PA Dutch trying to speak a language that just must not be in their genes to speak. I never really thought about it before, but the way of talking described in these 96 pages is exactly what I have grown up listening to. I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants a good laugh about people who talk funny and don't know it.

Marcus Meleton's book, Hunting for Lawyers, is for anyone who had the pleasure of dealing with lawyers, watched the OJ Simpson defense team, or merely thinks the legal "profession" is just a cover for a satanic cult. Hunting for Lawyers is an escape to nirvana in good humor. Don't miss the ride.

Enjoyed reading about dating experiences that happened to me too. Entertaining book that reminds you that you don't have to have a man to be viable. Being picky is a good thing. Enjoyed the recipes, especially the chocolate ones.
