The author of this book makes keeping track of your money with Money 2004 easy to understand. It tells you how to set up your account, pay bills online, and even create monthly reports. There's even a part on tracking your investments, planning for the future, and preparing for tax time. I recommend this book to anyone who has Money 2004!

I have been using Microsoft Money to manage my finances and portfolio since 1999. I thought I knew how to use it until I began reading this book. Mr. Weverka has shown me how little I really new about the capabilities and ease of use of this excellent program. It is written so that ordinary people such as myself can easily understand it, with touches of humor to lighten the tedium. Thank you, Peter Weverka!

I was very excited after seeing a preview demonstration of MS Office 2000 Premium edition. I knew that I was going to be able to take advantage of most of the features in the new Office 2000 software suite. I also knew that I was going to need help in learning how to integrate the applications, understanding the dos and the don'ts. I looked through several manuals and although some of them covered similar content, none were as easy to read and understand as Office 2000 for Dummies. I can go straight to the application section I am using and find the example and explanations I need, in plain English to complete my task. Publishing our organizations monthly newsletters as well as client and staff contact management or as I update our website, this book helped me see what I could do to make my job easier, more productive. Anytime I get stuck, I don't panic. I just reach for my manual and smile because not only do I know the information I need, will be there, but that I will be able to understand it, to make the task I want to happen, happen. I highly recommend this book to any user who wants to take full advantage of the new integration of the programs. It will make you more productive, more confident, more creative with the many examples provided. Basically it will make your job and your life easier!

It's about time MS put out a reference set that covers the most important topics, not abstract one's. I like this reference set alot so far because of it's thurough coverage of the Document Object Models (DOM) for Access, Excel, Word, Powerpoint, etc. I haven't gone through the whole thing yet but the only left for me to find is where they talk more about automation, something pretty much left out of the Office 97 reference set. Overall though, this is a great set of books to have at your disposal. It has already helped me come up with solutions for the custom-business applications and macros I create. There is also alot of material that wasn't in the last series. A great asset to any company with VB or VBA programmers.

I've been working with MS Office 2000 for several months. The extended Object Models have become more powerful for the end user, but more complicated for the developer. I recently purchsed this set of books. Wow! What a difference. This library unfolds all the mysteries of the Microsoft Office 2000 suite as well as some very helpful guidelines for Visual Basic for Applications (VBA). With these books, I've been able though to walk through examples, and create customized solutions for my users. Can't wait for the sequel! Well worth the money. I expect to reap benefits ten-fold over the costs.

A very good basic tutorial on Microsoft Excel 2000 that covers the basics like how to print, how to enter formulas, how to get help, etc.
One thing I didn't like about the software was that after a while, I found the voices--you can only hear them if you choose the audio option--to be annoying, and sometimes the voices skip.
There seems to be a bug on one portion of the software. This portion of the tutorial told me to highlight a range, which I did, but the software won't proceed to the next step of the tutorial; I found out that the software will only proceed if I click each cell in the range.
Except for the ones mentioned above, this software is actually quite good.
The best for my employees!

There is a Hands-On Course, self-paced, that includes practice lessons for learning Word in conjunction with the quick reference cards. Even intermediate level users can learn to use Word more effectively with this package. As an Information Technology specialist and writer, I can't believe what I've learned and I've used Word for 8 years. The lessons are quick and fun to do - so you won't be frustrated. Even if you don't take the course, the Create a Simple Document quick ref cards are so well laid out you'll use them over and over. A seperate Terms booklet is also included with a very well thought out glossary. Read it!
Pleasantly Surprised

I love the idea of this Quick Reference Card. I usually go for the "For Dummies" books to brush up on or learn how to use a bit of software. These books are very cumbersome as it seems that one has to go through the index about 50 times in order to find the specific piece of information that they are looking for. With this five fold card, I was able to quickly find the information that I needed to learn the specific task that I wanted to learn.
I found the course so, so easy to use. I love how I was able to do the course on my own time, at my own pace and could do the practice exercises in any order that I wanted to. The exercises were so fun to do, it really felt like I was engaged in explorative playing
I began as an intermediate user of word and now I feel like I have gained enough knowledge to become a more advanced level user.
I never knew how powerful word is. One can almost do a desk top publishing job that would equal something done with the Adobe suite. I learned a great deal about how to insert and work with diagrams, pictures and how to use the different formatting options that help to make a document really stand out and one that could be used in presentations. Also, learning how to use the shortcut keys to cut down on time is really beneficial. I never knew how simple it could be to make a brochure or presentation look so good in so little time. It is really amazing. I would recommend this course to people at all user levels. The course is so simple, that I feel even the beginning user would not be intimidated by it, which they would feel the freedom to just relax and learn.

Until you work with this Tables course and quick reference cards, you probably won't realize the hidden power in using Word tables. This course shows you how in an easy way. I'm a Technical Documentation Specialist who has had to design Sarbanes-Oxley process documents in an IT environment. Understanding how to control content within a table is invaluable. You can create side head labels in margins (like FrameMaker does) that are really just table cells without borders. Do you understand the difference between borders and gridlines? Get this package. It is awesome. It includes a great blurb on Styles, yes styles! Do you want to place graphics so they don't float? Put 'em in a table cell. Design-Write has designed the most comprehensive QRCs and tables course I've ever seen.

I think that I am becoming hooked on these Quick Reference Cards. I bought two other sets earlier and loved them so much that I decided to see what other Cards Design-Write Solutions has put out. I found this "Insert and Work with Tables in Microsoft Office Word 2003" package and was as delighted with the quality of information found there. I use Word 2007 at work and Word 2003 at home for my home based business. I thought of myself as an advanced user of Word 2003. I have used it regularly to create grant proposals, set up budget structures and etc. which usually includes lots of charts, pictures and etc. I didn't use tables much because they always seemed so cumbersome to set up. Through the simple-to-use course, short cut key card and the Quick Reference Card, I was able to learn some new tricks, to use tables to really sharpen and clean up the documents that I make, that have lots of information that needs to be categorized. The use of the tables function in Word has really helped me to give my proposals a clean and organized look that helps them to really stand out.

The Word 2003 Documents QRC has a great section on selecting text in a variety of ways which is key to quick formatting. I learned how to select text non-contiguously which I never knew. There is a cool shortcut for applying a double underline in the Format and Size Fonts panel also. Try it! Because of the folds, you can stand these cards up on your desk and see several sections at once which saves so much time when creating documents. As a Documentation Specialist tasked with documentation deadlines, time-saving techniques are critical. I highly recommend this set which includes Tables shortcuts. They are beautiful QRCs!

I've always relied heavily on the point and click ease of using a mouse. One day when my mouse stopped working I was completely lost. A friend of mine told me about these Quick Reference Cards that show you how to use keyboard shortcut keys on a PC with a Windows operating system. I tried them out and was amazed at how much faster it us to use the keyboard to format and edit documents. After using them I was able to navigate my documents more quickly and I also learned some new things that Word could do that I hadn't known about before.

This is definitely an introductory book; it assumes no previous knowledge of computing at all, which is somewhat annoying for those of us who aren't complete neophytes, as we have to wade though pages of descriptions of the most basic of information before we can get to the information that we need to know. But as it is DESIGNED as an introductory book, this is necesary, and it is unfair to complain of a book because it does what it sets out to do, rather than what I need. For those, like me, with a basic background in computer applications who want instruction in the Microsoft Office Suite, it is still a very useful tool, if occasionally tedious. And if it doesn't cover every possible minor variation in the various applications, it covers the basics exhaustively, and that is not a bad thing. If I was grading it only on the basis of how helful it was to me, I would have given it only four stars, but I don't feel that it is fair to penalize it for being the introductory book that it is, rather than the book I wish it was.

I am impressed with the depth of knowledge presented and the coverage in this set of Quick Reference cards, Using Shortcuts in Documents and Tables for Microsoft Word. I recently downloaded the trial version of Word 2007 as a new VISTA and laptop user. The Word 2007 Shortcuts QRC by Design-Write helped cut through the mystery of where all the Word menu options are now. As a Documentation Specialist, I have to create documentation for clients on a "hit-the-ground-running" basis. The layout and beauty of the graphics alone contribute to clarity and direction in understanding how to use the new Word. My eyes were opened with the Tables Shortcuts because I resolved a problem placing text above a table that I didn't know before. I'm ecstatic about what I've gained as a user!

I really love these quick reference cards. I use Word daily and I have struggled to really comprehend the differences between the 2003 version that uses toolbars and Word 2007 version that uses the new ribbon structure. They are similar but also very different. In my job it is imperative that I learn quickly any new or upgraded software systems that the company I work for installs. Because Microsoft Office products I use everyday, there just isn't time to go to a class or to navigate through a 200 page book on the subject. I need to learn it easily and become proficient quickly. The "Using Shortcuts in Documents" and "Using Shortcuts in Tables" Quick Reference Cards have really helped me to pick up speed to becoming a proficient user of Microsoft Office 2007 products.
