I loved reading this book. Michael Duffy gives a fantastic introduction both to theological thinking and to vocation in his book. I felt like I was sitting in his class again, pondering the many implications of some of the supposedly-simple ideas in Christianity: the nature of God, God's relationship with humans, what to do with my life, etc. At points, I laughed out loud and shared passages with my husband and roommate, and at other points I simply sat and reflected upon my own thoughts or some of the possibilities raised by the passages.

I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to learn about theology or who wants to discern his/her vocation. Duffy does not tell anyone what to think, although he sometimes offers his view as a guide for testing our hypotheses about God, the world and our lives. The read is gentle, thoughtful and reflective.

Michael Duffy asks the right questions - of himself and of the reader - leading to a deeper understanding of any individual's relationship with God.
Reading The Skeptical, Passionate Christian is like an ongoing conversation with Michael Duffy. My granddaughter attends Hanover College where he teaches. I wish I could sit in his classroom. After reading this book I am certainly a student of his.
Anyone interested in a deepening faith will find not only the right questions here but also the right answers

I think the "Skill Kit for Leaders" is very valuable. I was just amazed at the detail to so many different areas. The resources included are just a wealth of information that everyone who is practicing or planning on practicing OD work or coaching will find useful. When I first got it, I did a glance at what was included. Before I knew it, I was using it as a resource for writing reports and doing research. I can't stop telling my colleagues about the valuable information contained in this tool kit. I endorse this product 100%.

The "Skill Kit for Leaders" is a compilation of work tools that Diane Foster, MCC (Master Certified Coach)uses in her practice on a day to day basis. It is well organized and there is an abundance of information, tool kits and skills that can be used in your organization on a daily basis. This product is also a valuable tool for executive coaches because it provides all the information needed to assist individuals in an organization to move forward.

Honestly, I believe this DVD is under priced by thousands of dollars. It is not often (if ever) you have an expert in the fields of leadership and coaching offering to the public all the tools she has used to make her a success. Her generosity amazes. You will not be disappointed when you buy this product - you will be wondering why you did not buy it sooner. Diane Foster allows you to shine and become an expert while you use her materials. I would like to think this makes her smile.

This book, dealing with conflict & change, provides training tools for health professionals that are useful and novel: two qualities that add up to creativity. It is clear that this author knows her subject...and knows her reader! In addition, the format of the book is worth noting. With a comprehensive table of contents, and multiple matrices at the end of the book, the author makes it possible for readers to access what they need when they need it. Also, the individual "Training Tools" are laid out in an appealing and highly readable manner, making it a pleasure to use this book as a training resource. Brava!

The quantity (100) and quality of case studies in this well-written book will far exceed the reader's expectation. Change, it's not my job, gender and generational differences, practitioner autonomy and salary negotiations are just some of the issues addressed. Leaders who are experiencing resistance to change or interpersonal conflicts will especially benefit from the ready-to-use case studies. As noted in the title of this review, this book is a masterpiece.

Organized and written in a way that made it easier to follow and understand what the author/s were trying to convey. Very solid content including entity selection, formation, tax considerations, employer/employee issues, finding capital, exit strategies and more.

I thought the book was easy to read and understand, and even funny! As a small business owner myself, it has definitely come in handy!! No big legal jargon that the normal, everyday person can't understand. Everything is spelled out in plain english.

This book is amazing. The explosion of different types of media and all the jargon that goes with it can be overwhelming. The social media bible is perfect for someone that wants one stop shopping for everything there is to know on the subject. The Social Media Bible is a great starting.... end .... or middle .... or wherever you may be in understanding this subject. Kudos to the authors and great job!!

Great book! Loved it! It's huge and heavy and not particularly pricey. I found it to be well organized and well written. And it was certainly packed to the gills with content. There are 43 chapters split into three different sections: (1) Background basics & tactics, (2) Tools, & (3) Strategy. The chapters in the first part provide an introduction and framework regarding the book. The numerous chapters in the second part cover 100+ social media tools. And the last five or six chapters in the third part can help you do an audit of the social media marketing your company does (or doesn't do).

The book is comprehensive. I haven't seen a book that covers so much and in such depth on the topic of social media marketing (or Internet Marketing). There were a ton of "Expert Insights" sprinkled throughout the text that really made the book shine. And each chapter ended with three summaries: (1) Commandments, (2) Conclusion, & (3) Readings & Resources. Each were well done. In particular the Readings & Resources for each chapter were better than most books have at the end of an entire book. 6 stars!

This has very unusual patterns - some are appropriate for beginner and others for the more experienced. The patterns could possibly be used for sewing appliques, beadwork, or other mediums other than wood or metal.

This is an excellent workbook / pattern book for both the beginner and intermediate scroll sawyer, another Spielman success with the contribution of Dan Kihl. There are about 150 full size patterns in the 154 pages, and with the suggested variations on each project, the possibilites are endless.

As usual, the first 22 pages deals with instuctional guidance with photos. Some good instructions on wood selection, transferring patterns, definition cuts, and stack sawing. Then, for the more experienced, Spielman gives advice on combining various metals, plastics and leather with the traditional wood projects. It takes an ordinary project to an extra ordinary project with the "simple" inclusion of different medias.

Also for the more advanced, tips on segmentation and inlaying are provided, again, with photos. Perhaps the most interesting chapter, is on finishing tips, including acetic-acid bath of copper combined with shiny copper inlays. The eight pages of color photos offer great assistance with how different finishing techinques can look.

The are some very unusual patterns in this book and with the combination of the various techniques discussed and presented with photos, makes this book a must to have and you will refer back to it time and time again, just like I do, for some different ideas to apply to other projects.

Definitely, buy this book if you are a serious student of Scripture. I use it as a devotional and have bought several copies to give to friends who love digging in the Word. I've learned so much and have also enjoyed the text on CD (available as a separate item).

I was at first disappointed because I thought it was a CD to listen to. When I delved into the program I found there are resources that the book I own doesn't have i.e. (Bookmarks) Greek & English word studies. I only wish it would have worked on my MAC laptop.

Great book my Dad is very pleased with it. It was shipped fast and it was a great value.

This is an excellent user's guide to stochastic calculus and its important applications. I say excellent because it is well-written (clear and easy to read with a focus on the essentials as previous review said). I say "user's guide" because the author's get down to the nut's and bolt's of stochastic processes (concepts and related equations). I say "important applications" because they again focus on key "tools" such as Fokker-Planck equation and related stochastic differential equation, statistical mechanics, MCMC, turbulence, etc. - so there is something for everyone here e.g. physicists, financial "engineers", ME's and Aero's simulating turbulence (especially via PDF methods), etc. A few criticisms would be lack of "pixels" - they say a picture tell's a thousand words for a reason, hard to locate a term or definition or concept from index,...Overall, a very nicely priced/sized read and a must have reference for anyone working with stochastic processes seeking insight.

This book was written to fill in the gaps between what people learn in standard "pure" math trainings and what people use "in the field". The professors who wrote it come from a University where one can study math and never see topics from statistical sciences. They have attempted a very readable and clear exposition of some of the fundamentals behind the useful stochastic analysis in physics and economics. They use some formalism but largely skip long, difficult proofs, focusing instead on important examples. What I mean is they use the language of formal probability theory (measure theory), but keep the applications very concrete (differential equations, stochastic walks, etc). It cuts to the chase and is an exciting read for those like myself who get very turned off by overly formal probability theory, yet who are curious about some of the formalism. Short, paperback, good references, lively read.
