but Kaplan is by far the best LSAT prep book that is out there right now. The key is in the explanations-- they are comprehensive, understandable, and yet simple. The CD has 8 extra Analytical Reasoning sections for practice, which I found very helpful, along with a full-length practice test (and some other stuff). And the best thing-- they promise that if your score doesn't improve after purchasing this book they'll refund your money... so you won't get into law school, but at least you'll get your thirty bucks back.

I think this is a pretty good advise book. There is advise for everyone, I found it very helpful as an international student. Without a doubt a book you will find very helpful when applying for MBA admission.

This book was helpful except the fact that it didnt really help me on the unscrambling part and no 9th grade math problems...

I got this book for my daughter in 5th grade who will soon be taking the SSAT. I liked that it explained the test and included a practice test, the answers and explained the answers. Getting to take a practice test will be a big help to my daughter so that she will not go in cold. It would be nice if the book had the practice test on seperate sheets or a cd rom.

something that is necessary for the family who wants their children to be prepared for high school, especially private high schools this is a must. my son wants to go to private high school and this was suggested for him, i hope everyone considers this for their children it is very important.

Since the book is supposed to test you on the hardest concepts for the MCAT, you can't expect to get the same proportion of answers right as you would on a regular practice test. (Or to finish all the questions in the allotted time). That said, I was surprised by the quality of the passages and concepts tested in the science sections. I felt they were all plausible for the real deal. My only complaint is that there is NO PERIODIC TABLE in the book, so I had to scramble in the middle of the general chem test to get the info I needed.

Definitely review all your sciences before picking up this book. It's good for honing your skills a couple weeks before the MCAT so you can review the answers and pick up some new info.

this is overall a pretty good book. I think that there are better books out there.

Beginning with Shaughnessy's childhood, Maher opens her story with how the family life of an immigrant miner's daughter tempered her spirit. Maher thoroughly documents the career of a pioneer in the field of basic writing. Maher's treatment was detailed and compassionate, revealing struggles rarely seen except by close companions.

Through the use of excerpts from Shaughnessy's own letters and journal, the reader is treated to the momentary and well-earned celebrations and the constant, almost overwhelming struggle of her daily fight. It is inspiring and at the same time disheartening. One individual changed so much by her sheer will and determination. However, some of the elitist inhabitants of the ivory tower still lord over those who were not so fortunate in their early education.

This book is an excellent place for new teachers to begin their education in teaching.

I found this kit extremely helpful in studying for the MSAT exam. It gave me a very good sense of what content would be on the test, what the question format would be, and how the essay questions would be scored. I found the exam I took to be a bit more difficult/detailed than the questions in this practice exam, but the content covered is essentially the same. This kit does not provide any kind of review of the material on the test, but the sample answers and answer explanations do give hints about what information you need to know. The questions also give a good sense of what material is covered on the exam. I purchased the REA MSAT test prep book in addition to this kit, but found it to be a waste of time. The best strategy for me was to take the ETS practice tests, use the answer explanations and the content covered to make a study topic list, then use subject-specific textbooks to learn the material.

"Very good for the target audience" - I think this sums it all. If you are someone who has not done active maths for some time now, and therefore does not remember the concepts involved very well, this is the book for you. This I will say holds true for most of the books of the Manhattan Quant series.
The Manhattan Quant series books cover the concepts only to the degree that gets asked in the GMAT, and do not overwhelm you.
Plus, as each of the Manhattan books then turns to the Official Guide for practice, each of the books has a section where the appropriate questions for that topic are numbered from the OG. They also detail the toughest of the lot from OG. Here I think the book is useful for anyone, irrespective of the personal comfort level with maths.
Therefore if you are true to yourself and practice the questions marked from OG as you go along, this would prove to an excellent resource for cracking the quant part of the GMAT.
