This book is fantastic! I read it quickly, and learned so much about the College process. My Son is a Junior in High School, and this book shows you step-by-step what to do, how to apply, and what to expect, each month. It starts with the Junior year of High School and continues all the way to acceptance. It's a must read for any parent.

"Very good for the target audience" - I think this sums it all. If you are someone who has not done active maths for some time now, and therefore does not remember the concepts involved very well, this is the book for you. This I will say holds true for most of the books of the Manhattan Quant series.
The Manhattan Quant series books cover the concepts only to the degree that gets asked in the GMAT, and do not overwhelm you.
Plus, as each of the Manhattan books then turns to the Official Guide for practice, each of the books has a section where the appropriate questions for that topic are numbered from the OG. They also detail the toughest of the lot from OG. Here I think the book is useful for anyone, irrespective of the personal comfort level with maths.
Therefore if you are true to yourself and practice the questions marked from OG as you go along, this would prove to an excellent resource for cracking the quant part of the GMAT.

I just got through the verbal review sections. The book is very thourough, insightful and easy to follow. I feel more confident after having read through the verbal chapters. i also bought the Kaplan 2007-2008 Comprehensive review - I have hard time following it and remembering the material (twice I got headaches just going trhough it). I am looking forward the much anticipated release of Hannan's next book, _The Water Heater_.

I bought this book for my daughter. She is in the college application process, and the student essay was really stressing her out. (There is so much hype and conflicting information from school, guidance, and the other kids!) The information in this book was perfect -- it's not essays to copy, but a true "how-to" on writing winning essays, step-by-step. The examples are clear and totally geared to the student-reader. The advice is practical and easy to follow -- right down to the steps for submitting the application online. A real bargain!!

I have only read a little of the book, but I know if you are looking for a college it'll give great advice. My DAD is a great writer & so is my Mom, Karen, so look her up,too.

I bought this book for my teenage daughter who has a few different majors in mind and wanted to know more about them. This book goes into detail about what the major is, what to expect as far as salary, how many colleges offer the major, what you can also look into as a career, what job you will get if you graduate in this major and a sample of classes you might take. It's pretty thorough and she likes to page through the book and think about all her options. I recommend it to anyone who wants a general book of common majors and can't decide.
