I stayed at one of their properties for a bachelor party and it couldn't of been any cooler! Stripper Pole, Pool, Pool Table, big screen TV! It was awesome! Well, hopefully they'll add it in the next edition.

If you are going to Las Vegas for the first time, get this book.

I used this book on a trip a couple of years ago and it was very valuable. The paper is a light grade so while the book is thick it is not heavy. If you are in a town of any decent size then there is info on what to eat, see, and where to stay. The maps are good and suggestions are too. I've read quite a few travel guides over the years and this series may be the best all around and best laid out of any of them. You might want to read more details before you leave but this is the one to carry along on the trip. I have not seen any new editions but I hope Foder's continues with this series.

Although this is presented as fiction, the author spent years researching life on the Oregon Trail from diaries of those who made it. He integrated them all into one epic journey. Hulbert was the first author to point out that it wasn't Indians who were the main threat in the journey, but rather the tedious persistance of having to do 20 miles a day no matter what shape your animals are in, how your wagon is working or if you had water. Hulbert was also the first author actually go out and find the landmarks mentioned in the diaries, link them together and plot out the Oregon Trail. That was in the 1920's.

This book is the closest you can come to the "real thing" without really being there. With a true insight to the make-up of The Fountains of Bellagio, the book provides the intimate details to this magnificent artistic production. The photos in the book (most of which are color) are stunning and highlight the parts we like the best in the show. The detailed information, along with the trivia makes us feel like we are privy to the inner workings of something incredible. Nothing can compare to the emotion we feel viewing the actual fountains, but this is a great second!

Incredibly powerful poetry that shows the world for what it is: a magnificent nightmare of pain and joy, a brilliant collage of depravity and denial, of sadness and transcendence. Brian Young is an emerging genius. There is no other way to describe this idiosyncratic collection that will rip the spleen from your guts and shove it down your throat and still leave you feeling not pain, but wonder. When you finish reading this book you will feel you have been blessed. Read it! Read it! Read it!

I have to say when I was on a hunt for books on Vegas with kids, I went through quite a few in the bookstore. I found that most of them completed half the book with how to book a flight, how to pack a suitcase, where to stay, what to bring. I already had those things done. I needed to know what to do with a 10 year old boy in vegas! I had no clue! This book offers so many ideas it is incredible. There is way more for kids than you ever dreamed possible, from theme parks, to water parks, to arcades, to circuses, to concerts for kids. The list is endless. There is no way you will do it all, but with this book you can outline, what sounds like fun and what sounds like something you want to do, and have an idea before you go to Vegas. Talk to the kids and see what they like. Definitely a must have if you are bringing kids along!

I read this book, along with "Casino Operations Management" by Kilby, Fox, and Lucas. Both books were EXTREMELY helpful. They both start by assuming you know nothing about the gaming industry. They then show you the history and the evolution of the industry and then take you under the covers to show you the hows and whys of casino management and its decisions. I would HIGHLY recommend both books to anyone looking to gain insight into this fascinating industry.

Exceptionally well-written, well-published, well-illustrated book, with a lot of depth, beautiful watercolors and precise maps. Nature writing at its best. Highly recommended.

Anthony Hunt's book on Gary Snyder's long poem "Mountains and Rivers Without End" is a first-rate compantion to that complex and rewarding work. Snyder's poems are studded with allusions. Those can create a barrier for the reader who is not familiar with a range of Eastern religious beliefs, the geology and folklore of the Pacific Northwest, or Snyder's long and varied personal acquaintance. Anthony Hunt's analysis guides us along. I found that I would read a Snyder poem, read Hunt's discussion of that poem, and then go back to the original with renewed interest and excitement. In addition, the reader of Hunt's book gets an introduction to No Drama and a discussion of the great Chinese landscape scroll that inspired Snyder, among much other background material. Hunt makes Snyder accessible--a great scholarly achievement!
