Billings Books

This guide is reasonably organized and put together, but overall just too basic. For providers with absolutely no experience in billing and no time on their hands, this may be appropriate. However, most of this information can easily be found online. I was hoping to have a lot more in depth discussion of the billing process and available resources. As it stands, this guide just provides a cursory look at this process and a huge portion of the book is simply a reprint of ICD-9 codes (which can be found in the DSM you probably already own). Unless you're absolutely desperate, use your money to take a private-pratitioner in your area out to lunch and get the answers from them.

"The Quiet" sounded like a nifty little thriller/horror book that was right up my alley. A killer stalking the woods of Yellowstone National Park, throw in a former Forest Ranger who is still dealing with the violent death of his wife years earlier and a young botanist who barely escaped with her life from the killer's first attack. Someone is using old Indian legends, combined with unusual drugs to control the park's Grizzly bears to attack his victims.

It sounds like a decent set up to a nifty little novel, the only problem is that the characters are so thinly drawn, you never get sucked into the story. Outside of the two main characters, the rest of the folks are just so much background noise. Which wouldn't be a problem, except "The Quiet" goes from being more of a thriller/horror to a straight mystery tale. The reader gets to try to figure out which one of the characters we've been introduced to is the killer. I liked the mystery angle, but when the characters are all so poorly drawn, most of the fun of trying to solve the mystery is taken away.

This isn't a bad book and at just over 200 pages you can probably have it read in a day or two. But I don't really recommend you go out of your way to pick up "The Quiet".

I'm going to start using this learning approach in my classes in a few weeks, and I bought this book to provide me with the basic tools. The cover says, "A Guide to Using Small Groups for Improving Learning." What's here is good, but the problem is that many of the specific examples are only citations to the older book: Team-Based Learning: A Transformative Use of Small Groups in College Teaching.

I feel short-changed.

For anyone to charge $21.21 for a few xeroxed papers put together is nothing short of outragious! Many of the pages are not even half typed in. Save your money and surf the net for 10 minutes and you will learn more. I truly believe I was 'ripped off' and I will endeavor to communicate with Amazon to aprise them of this situation. I haven't recieve the book and still waiting for it. Please let me know what is going on.

On my quest to find good tax lien books, I'm always astounded to some of the inaccuracies found in the book. First the title and some of the chapters declare NJ as an 18% state. This is not exactly true. It starts at 18% but apparently you win the lien by bidding down the interest. Some people get 1%. Yikes, who wants that? I suggest reading up on Investing Without Losing (ISBN 0978834607 NOT on amazn, other stores) so you can learn how this truly works.

This "book" consists of a compilation of poor quality photocopied insurance claim forms, business cards, etc. in a low grade print quality plastic spiral bound booklet with a low resolution cartoon character on the cover and a very simple table of contents to index the loosely organized contents. Appears as maybe a couple hours’ time was devoted to developing this "training book." Essentially it's what you'd expect if the chiropractor assembled a week's worth of billing forms, quickly grouped them, compiled a simple index and then photocopied the loose forms on a 20 year-old photocopy machine and then ran a few hundred second generation copies using the cheapest paper from the cheapest self-service printer service bureau -- all for (a) premium (...). Fortunately Amazon is very professional and will allow me to exchange this book for something of commensurate value.

The book and disk are from the DOS age. They are not representative of the Newer versions of Medisoft. Not the item to buy if you're looking to learn Medisoft.

The book would be good if it was meant to be used on its own. But seeing it is sold with a data disk and the simulation requires the data disk. Maybe it would be wise to include a data disk that worked. Had I known this I would never have spent the money I did on the book.
