A "MUST READ" if you were raised in Christian School!

This is one of two books by the same auther...this being the first. You start out with a young boy named Terry...who grows up in a poor but loving Christian family. What this boy doesn't get into! :) It transitions nicely into the second book where Terry is now a teen ready to graduate. I feel like I could have written this book myself after reading some of the "goings on" in the Christian School he attended! It brought back memories...and was most enjoyable to read. You also fly through the pages as its so "easy reading".

Don't miss out on a true gem of a book!

Exciting, scary, and humorous
Helpful Votes: 1 out of 1 total.
Review Date: 2005-10-21
This is a fast-paced novel with quirky, amusing characters who get into one predicament after another as they try to stop a terrorist with a fondness for weapons of mass destruction. The story plays out against the vast landscape of the American West, moving from the Dakotas to Montana to St. Louis as Robert Botkin and his Indian friend unravel a mystery that threatens half the population of the nation's heartland. The author's understanding of the West and its people give this book an unusual degree of plausibility. The novel does contain a large amount of R-rated language and several graphic scenes that are not suitable for young readers.

If you liked Lilly, you'll love Emma! It's a wonderful book full of history. I've never been much for history until I started reading Ann Cullen's books . . . now I'm anxiously waiting for her next one. Living in Helena, it makes the town seem more "real" . . . you see houses and know who built them and first lived there. For those not living here, the book gives you a wonderful insight into the past. How lives were lived, companies started, travel, buildings, etc.

An extraordinary multicultural journey
Helpful Votes: 5 out of 5 total.
Review Date: 2000-12-09
In "Faith Ringgold," author Robyn Montana Turner has assembled a superb introduction to the artist for whom the book is named. Turner combines a well-written biography of Ringgold with a wealth of photographs from all phases of the artist's life, full-color reproductions of many of her classic creations, and other interesting materials.

An African-American artist who blends African, African-American, and European themes and techniques in her work, Ringgold is a fascinating multicultural creator. This book gives the reader a good sense of the journey she has taken towards her comprehensive artistic vision. It is fascinating, for example, to see a reproduction of da Vinci's "Mona Lisa" together with Ringgold's mixed-media portrayal of African-American children dancing in front of "Mona Lisa" at the Louvre museum in France. Turner's "Faith Ringgold" is a visually stunning book which just may inspire a few artists of the next generation.

A wonderfully romantic and suspenseful continuation of the Noble Family Saga

Review Date: 2008-07-07
Susan May Warren has another hit novel on her hands with "Finding Stefanie," the third installment in the Noble family saga. It is the wonderful tale of Stefanie Noble, twin of superstar bull riding champion, Rafe Noble and younger sister of Silver Buckle co-owner, Nick Noble. Living in her brothers' shadows never used to bother Stefanie, but lately she's unsure of where she belongs. Enter Lincoln Cash, movie star and Stefanie's new neighbor. Will these two develop a relationship out of the crushes they have on each other? Or will they clash over Hollywood coming to Montana?

It's easy to fall in love with one of Susan's books...especially when you already adore the characters from previous novels in the series! It was wonderful to concentrate on Stefanie's character and get to know her a bit better. Susan also crafts the sub-plot stories that weave throughout the book with great care and detail, making these characters as valuable to the novel as the leading men and ladies. This is a wonderful novel that emphasizes second chances, forgiveness and truth and teaches the reader that God plants dreams in our hearts for a reason. I devoured the novel in just two days and was truly sad to have to say farewell to the Nobles.

Perfect Mix of Story, Love and Suspense

Susan May Warren does it again in this final chronicle in the lives of the Noble siblings! With a perfect balance of romance, suspense and emotion, she draws you into the lives of her characters with a fulfilling ending, a Spiritual epiphony moment for every reader, and a wish for the Noble legacy to go on and on and on.

wonderful contemporary Montana romantic suspense
Helpful Votes: 1 out of 3 total.
Review Date: 2008-07-03
Stefanie Noble is tired of being the responsible one while her two brothers (see RECLAIMING NICK and TAMING RAFE) got to do what they wanted. Unlike her siblings, who have seen a lot of the United States searching for their respective selves, she ventured off the family Silver Buckle Ranch for one term at college. Worse she has no dreams anymore wondering what happened to that little girl who wanted so much.

Action movie star Lincoln Cash has come a long way from his youth when everyone frightened him and picked on him. Although he puts on the tough guy facade, inside he remains the same scared little kid. When he meets Stefanie, he feels a deep attraction that she shares with him. However, neither can make that first move besides the neighbors are natural enemies as he wants to open an annual film festival nearby she opposes Hollywood trampling her beloved Big Sky Country.

The third Noble Legacy tale is a wonderful contemporary Montana romantic suspense with an arsonist wrecking Lincoln's dreams. The two likable stars each bring tons of baggage to their relationship with no place to store it except internally making no room for love unless they clean out some of their fears. The story line belongs to the lead couple as Hollywood is his façade to hide his misgivings and flaws while ranching is her façade hiding her uncertainties and faults. With much more going on, fans will enjoy Susan may Warren's latest Big Sky Noble saga.

Dempsey has done an outstanding job of pulling together Native and non-Native viewpoints of the Whiskey trade in Montana and the Canadian Prairie Provinces. This is one of the best overall historical studies of the trade and its effects on the Native people, the Northern Plains, and politics in both the U.S. and Canada. With strong backgrounds of those involved in the trade, and specific events concerning those traders, and the Native people on an individual and tribal basis, it makes for an interesting read.
I strongly recommend it for those interested in the development of the Northern Plains!
