Departments and Programs Books

I thought this book would be like other graduate level program manuals and explain all the complicated and tedious parts of the application process, but it does not. It gives a brief and useless description of all the programs in the US but it would be easier and more helpful to just look them up online. There is really no useful information in this book, it will probably be best put to use in my wood burning stove.

I bought this book assuming that i could get some sort of inside information about engineering programs in Canada. Upon flipping through the pages I found that most of the information was vague and easy to find anywhere on the internet. Furthermore, the 3 universities I am most interested in: UBC, Waterloo, amd University of Toronto (among the top engineering schools in Canada) were not even included in this book.

The books by this publisher are just plain horrible They are simply advertisments from the business schools. There are few good business schools displayed in the book. It is not the least objective because schools only pay to to published in their. I called the president of the company and he confirmed this with me only the schools who pay them get published in it. You will not find good business schools like Indiana University at Bloomington, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill etc.. DO NOT BUY any books from analagous with this one ie: Best graduate business programs etc...

The book held no substantive information on the schools or programs. All it did was outline the schools by state, and the programs offered with no information on admissions or the programs themselves. You would be much better served by saving your money and surfing the web.

I was very disappointed with Petersons MBA book. The information on the schools could be found on their websites and gave no real insight. There were expanded descriptions for only a handful of schools. Furthermore, the introductory information at the beginning gave no substantial information. I had high hopes for this book but was extremely disappointed with the content.

Although this book provides a fair amount of information, the definition of "Humanities" is sorely lacking. Among the majors you will NOT find in this book are: speech, theater, dance, communications. For a book that claims to cover the humanities, these oversights are substantial, and it means I wasted my money getting a book that provides me with no help whatsoever. Caveat Emptor....

I ordered it. It didn't arrive:( Need to figure out how to get my money back.
