very useful, I've worn it out.Review Date: 2002-08-08
Lightweight, so travels well, has very good info on most everything u could want to see, including Banff/Jasper Nat'l parks, (even though they are in Alberta Province).
Reasonably well arranged.
Get this book, and if you want to know everything there is to know about Canadian Rocky Mountain flora and fauna, add Ben Gadd's book "Handbook of the Canadian Rockies" (a considerably heavier book, due to color plates) and you won't need anything else but a map.

British Columbia Off the Beaten PathReview Date: 2002-09-04
Good Afternoon.
Say I just wanted to say, we loved your "Off the Beaten Path" British Columbia. Recently, my husband and I celebrated our 30th Anniversary and took a trip to British Columbia. And we used your book every step of the way and found there to be no errors within the contents (except a few increases in admission - and we called that life!). We even loved eating Halibut and Chips at Mad Trapper Neighborhood Pub. It's also thought it was funny we had taken several trips throughout the years and have never stopped at Marble Canyon wow I mean shout it out! That place is wonderful and will remain on our stopping list forever. I could go on and on about the material we found within the pages of your book. I've recommended it to several of our friends.
Without saying before I end this note; any chance you've written other books using that same guideline?
Sincerely,
Rita J. Martin

Luc's knowledge of English is the key to connecting the French lumbermen from Quebec and the English speaking manager's of the mill.
Norma Charles helps us see the rain, mud and hardships through the eyes of Luc, a boy who inspires us with his ernest to do the right thing but gets caught up in a number of boyish mishaps.
Norma Charles skillfully gives us a history lesson without us even knowing it and teaches us a few words of French along the way.
