BUT I DID WANT TO SHARE A STORY ON THE AUTHOR FOR ALL READERS AND POTENTIAL BUYERS. IN 1968, MY FATHER, VIC KARABASZ, MOVED OUR FAMILY TO JASPER,ALABAMA TO COACH AT WALKER COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL. I TOO, AS A KID REMEMBER SOME OF THE GREAT MEN OF THE TOWN AT THE TIME. BERNARD WEINSTEIN,JUDGE AL BLANTON, AND ESPECIALLY GEDDES SELF! BUT ALSO, THE AUTHOR,PAT MORRISON, WHO I VIVIDLY REMEMBER TO THIS DAY LIVING WITH OUR FAMILY FOR A FEW DAYS BEFORE HIS PLACE WAS READY. COACH MORRISON TOOK A PLAIN WHITE HAT AND DREW A PERFECT BLACK "W" ON IT AND TRIMMED IT IN OLD GOLD FOR ME! AT THE TIME IT WAS THE BEST LOOKING CAP A YOUNG SIX YEAR OLD KID HAD EVER SEEN AND PROOF THAT THE AUTHOR HAS LIVED VIKING PRIDE HIMSELF FOR SOME 40 YEARS NOW !!! THANK YOU COACH MORRISON FOR THE CAP 40 YEARS AGO AND THE OPPORTUNITY NOW TO RE-LIVE SOME OF THOSE MEMORIES!!!

I recently moved to D.C. Being unfamiliar with the area, it helped me find some great running routes. A must have for anyone living in or around Washington D.C.

I used this book for quite some time. I was very pleased with the results from this weight program. I have wanted to purchase my own copy, but have been unable to find it anywhere. Please let me know if it is ever available again.

This book is a well written,very informative book on basic weight training for fitness or sports conditioning.The book covers the basics of anatomy and kineseology as well as basic weight training exercises and various routines.A real gem of a book for those seeking honest instruction in weight training.If you ever see a copy, GRAB IT!

Dr Fahey's book is a great reference tool for those who train and get common athletic injuries. It's give simple easy to follow advise that everybody can understand.

This is a wounderful book to get. It covers every college there is and tells you how they got their name and mascot. This is a book that is great for those times when you were just woundering about something, and want to look it up.

This book isn't exactly what I expected, but better probably. While reading it, it seems more like you're just having a convo with a couple other coaches more so than reading a book. It gives experiences (case studies) and reassurance to coaches. I'm writing a paper on coaching burnout and it helped a bit, and any coach going through a stressful season could find it handy as well. Also, just being proactive newer coaches should take a read and see that when a situation rises it's not just them!

FROM BASIC TECHNIQUES TO ADVANCED PRACTICE PLANS, THE AUTHOR SUCCEEDS IN PROVIDING A UNIQUE AND COMPREHENSIVE APPROACH TO VOLLEYBALL. IF ONE EVER PLANS ON TAKING THEIR GAME (OR TEAM) TO THE NEXT LEVEL, I HEARTILY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK. DO NOT MISS!!

A black-and-white photograph of each woman introduces her section, peppered with snippets of interviews, tales of training regimens, and stories of the raw struggle required to become the best of the best. The women covered are big-wave surfer Jamilah Star, jockey Julie Krone, soccer player Julie Foudy, runner Deena Kastor, gymnast Wendy Hilliard, volleyball player Misty May-Treanor, swimmer Lynne Cox, basketball player Tamika Catchings, triathlete Karen Smyers, and rock climber Lynn Hill. An amazing true account of what it takes to reach the top of one's game, and an especially inspirational read for women of all ages.

Tom Keegan has assembled an outstanding book. With one daughter currently playing women's college hockey at St Lawrence University, and another who wants to attend either Boston College or Yale, and continue her hockey career, I found this book to be a great source of information. The chapter on "Coaches Surveys" gives all female hockey players a true picture of the "well-rounded" player that coaches look for, emphasizing the importance of academic strength along with hockey skills. Tom presents a lot of information, in plain english, and in one resource, that makes this book a great value. Each daughter has a copy, and I've bought three more copies to give to their friends who want to continue hockey at the college level.
