This book raises space encyclopedias to a new level. Many previous books of this type have been collections of images interspersed with some lightweight text. Not this one. The French authors of this work go into considerable technical detail about the many topics they cover, including the celestial mechanics of artificial satellites, their orbits and ground tracks, and the trajectories of interplanetary probes. The authors focus primarily on scientific and applications missions, with relatively little attention to manned space programs. The world's launch vehicles and launch sites are covered thoroughly, as are earth observation satellites. The excellent charts and diagrams are detailed and comprehensive; the photographic images are well chosen and well reproduced.

Unlike many space-related books published in the United States, this encyclopedia does not focus on American space achievements. Its balanced perspective on world space programs may be a useful corrective.

This is a comprehensive presentation of the forms Greek letters followed in a study of such letters found among Egyptian papyri. The examples used are dated from the 3rd century B.C. into the Christian era. Many of these letters were of an epistolary nature and the various similarities and differences are presented in the Greek in regard to form and content.

This is an important technical work for anyone concerned with Attention Deficit Disorder. While not ideal for those without advanced degrees, parents and adults in an ADHD system may find it worth their while to work through the highly specialized language. The articles assess from different scientific perspectives the trajectory of stimulant medication. While priced very fairly given its highly technical content, ADHD support groups maybe able to share the cost and the book. Members within the group could select a chapter, and then present it to their group. Most of the articles contain at least a few sections that will be understandable to non-scientists. Such a process could improve physician patient communication about the medication. Detractors of stimulant medication have to come to grips with the enormous relief that these medications provide for adults and children. While the specific locations and dynamics of the epenephrine and dopamine interactions remain shrouded, the clinical evidence overwhelming attested to the efficacy of stimulant medication. Until detractors can produce similar empirical data, resources have to be allocated to treatments that actually work. The book's purpose is to bring together the best and most current data available as a way of supporting and furthering pharmaceutical research. In this purpose the editor's and contributor's reveals science at its best, methodically navigating a dense forest of dimly understood variables in an attempt to relieve human suffering and push back the boundaries of ignorance. They echo our ancestors who learned to harness fire.

I just read this book and I am very impressed with the way it was put together and the information it contains. I've been looking for information on Xavier and this is the first book that I felt really gave the "insider's" look into what the institution is all about. Some of the things that were important to me were the discussion of diversity, safety and security, and athletics and I finally found information about these aspects that no one else seemed to have quite the same insight into. Part of that has to do with the fact that the book is student written and has quotes from students about each element covered. The great thing about this is that you're not just getting info from the administration about how wonderful the school is, but you also see the things that could use improving. Hey, all schools need improvement, I'm just glad I could get some honesty about what those things are. This is a great book and it helped me make some important decisions!

Since there are not to many product details. I get lost with the title, I thought it teach you how to use the brushes in painting,unfortunately there are only faded color drawings inside this book.I made a mistake buying this book.

This book is useful for young artists learning to paint, because there are several unfinished sketches, so it's easy to understand how the work has been "constructed" by the painter, and which is the base colour of the canvas.
I haven't seen the original paintings at the National Gallery, so I can't review the images reproduction quality, but they seems good.
