This book was a little wordy, even for someone who has incorporated a for-profit before. But the information is very consistent, and the forms provided and website references make this a very handy book to start with. Just make sure you want the right kind of 501(c)(3) that this book is written for first (public benefit), or he continually reinforces that this book is not right for you!

I find this really helpful and well written and organized as a book. The CD ROM with the forms are really helpful too (though I found an editing error in one of the forms..but nothing too major...just a spelling mistake (a typing error), that's all). I'm quite ready and less confused now that I have read this book. It also helps me to stop and think more about my organizational plan and such, so that it'll fit with the regulations about incorporation of non profit and the tax exempt status.

I was looking through the books on non-profit formation in a local bookstore, in downtown Palo Alto and ran into this title: my jaw dropped at the fact that there was such a perfect title for my needs. Not only was the book appropriately titled but the content helped me and my wife through the unfamiliar steps we had to take in order to incorporate our non-profit, Diabetes Hands Foundation, in California.

I recommend, along with it, The Budget-Building Book for Nonprofits: A Step-by-Step Guide for Managers and Boards and Managing a Nonprofit Organization in the Twenty-First Century. These three titles have been at the heart of the non-profit-related instruction we have picked up on in the past couple of months.

I am in the process of forming a nonprofit organization to benefit people with brain injury. An attorney friend suggested that I purchase this book which gives guidelines for setting up a nonprofit organization in California. Being a novice in the field of start up companies I have found this book to be without exception easy to understand and follow and gives you samples of forms and detailed explanations on how to file them with your local, state, and federal government. I would recommend this book to anyone who is in the process of beginning a nonprofit even if you have previous experience. It gave me the assurance that forms would be filed properly and the advise on writing the bylaws to the company.

Karen Sommerfield receives news that she is being laid off, despite years of loyalty and the fact that she helped build the company to what it is today. She also receives bad news that a cancer that she thought she would not see again has returned. Her doctor has asked her to make an appointment as soon as possible, as he thinks that the initial test results are pointing towards the return of this disease, but he is not one-hundred percent sure.

Karen has not been home since the death of Grandmother Rose two years ago. Going home brings back many happy memories of a woman Karen had loved. While at home dealing with the emotional drama taking place in her life, Karen also becomes involved in a summer camp program called JUMP KIDS. As Karen's her outlook on life changes, her heart opens and she learns to love again.

THE LANGUAGE OF SYCAMORES is a beautifully written story about a woman who finds herself needing direction in her life. This book about family and the ties that come with them is a novel to be cherished. The central plot of this novel may center around Karen, but it is the secondary characters and the love that shines from the pages that make this an emotional read. Learning about her history Karen finds the things her Grandma Rose did and said all come from a past that she knew nothing about. As she learns about her ancestors, her life takes on a new direction and she grows as a person.

Lisa Wingate is definitely a talented writer. As the third novel in a four book series, THE LANGUAGE OF SYCAMORES can definitely stand alone, but having read and become enthralled with Karen, and her family, this reviewer definitely will be seeking out the previous (TENDING ROSES, GOOD HOPE ROAD) and the fourth novel, DRENCHED IN LIGHT. Having previously been released in 2005, luckily for this reader, all four novels are on bookshelves everywhere.

POIGNANT STORY

This is the third of the "Tending Roses Series" It is just as wonderful as the previous two books of this warm series. Book 1:Tending Roses....Book 2:Good Hope Road.

I believe each book can be read on their own, but hope you can read each book in order because the wonderful characters or their decendants appear in the books that follow.

This book is a warm, heartfelt story, sometimes sad and sometimes quite humorous. A very entertaining story.

Lisa Wingate is one of my favorite writers whom I have recentlly discovered. Plan to read all she writes.

This was a great read in my opinion. It's one of those books that makes you rethink how you're living your life or how you plan to live it. It makes you think, maybe I should spend more time with my family since you never know when someones going to die or maybe you're going to die. You just never know. Anyways, I enjoyed reading this book very much.

Karen Sommerfield is facing great life challenges when her 23 year job at Lansing, a big company is laying off everyone including her department. She is also at a stale point in her marriage to James, her pilot husband who works all hours. Karen had a bad miscarriage when it was discovered she had cancer at that time-and things haven't been normal since. And then, returning to her doctor for a check-up, it was again discovered she had abnormal cells again and may have cancer. Karen chooses to turn her back though, and ignore all of it.

Her sister Kate, who is very well settled on their Grandmother Rose's farm, calls Kate and invites her one of these days to come for a weekend visit. So on the spur of the moment, without thinking, Karen decides to pack her bags right then, and get out of her turmoil-even though she has some misgivings. So she leaves a message for James, and takes off.

While on the plane, she meets Keiler, a young guy who is studying at college, and possibly seminary. Karen learns that he is counselor of the Jumpkids program-a summer length program to keep kids out of trouble, and help them develop their skills in the musical arts, other arts, and theater. At the time Karen has no idea how this will touch her life when Dell comes into it.

Once she reaches Missouri, Karen can't bear to tell Kate that she has lost her job. There was always such sibling rivalry there that the two women have trouble feeling close to each other. Kate was always the best at everything, while Karen was always second best no matter what. Karen also meets Dell, the impoverished girl across the lake from the farm who lives with her Grandma who is very sickly can't really watch her, and Uncle Bobby, who is nothing but a drunkard, and treats Dell shamefully, calling her a "nigger child," since she was born of both races.

Karen hits it off with Dell right away, and sees the potential in this poor child. She has special talents for music and the arts that no one has ever cared to recognize. So Karen really takes a deep interest in Dell, and pulling some strings, inquires into the Jumpkids program through the church minister. Dell was very very low in self-esteem, and afraid to try anything new-but with much coaxing on Karen's part, she decides to try. Karen made a promise that she would be there for her the first couple days-and what happens is that Karen falls in love with this program, and becomes one of the workers herself.

After a little time, Karen along with James decide to stay in Missouri and change their lives in a new direction. The authorities are called in for Dell finally after something strange happens in her broken home, and arrangements are made for Karen and James to become Dell's foster parents. It seems that Dell is the child they always needed-and from there the child will flourish and grow in many ways.

Karen really comes down to earth in this story, and giving up her high-powered job after being called back, decides that it is better to live with much less money, yet be happier helping youth talent develop. She and Kate also have a new beginning as sisters.

I love all of Lisa Wingate's books, but I particularly enjoyed this one. Her perfect mixture of faith and authentic life situations, not to mention characters who are as real as my next door neighbors, always make for an absorbing read. I've yet to be disappointed with one of her books and I recommend them to anyone who likes their fiction sincere, well-written and believable.

After reviewing several books on Strategic Execution, I was continuously left with the feeling that the authors had ommitted a key ingredient. This book has convinced me that that key ingredient was "Alignment".
This book was published 10 years ago (OK, I am embarrassed that I have only just got around to reading it) but it is as significant today as it was when it was first published. Probably more so considering the rapid state of change that most companies are faced with today.
It is a simple read, and the concepts are easy to follow. What I enjoyed most about the book is that the suggestions are practical and you can take them and implement them immediately within an organization.
I noticed that one of the readers who has reviewed the book said that the book was required reading for his MBA course. 10 years on, I still think it should be required reading for any business executive.

I'm always looking for visual ways of understanding critical elements of strategy. The Power of Alignment offers a very helpful way of thinking about four important ingredients in keeping the main thing, the main thing. Vertical alignment, the relationship between your strategy and the people on your team, "energizes...provides direction, and offers opportunity for involvement." Horizontal alignment refers to the connection between your processes and customers. Taken together the two measures provide some great insight into the development of genuine alignment.

One of the most interesting elements of the book is a 16 question diagnostic tool that is designed to provide a graphic view of your organization's alignment. Very helpful!

Great book! The basic premise is that once a business has a raison d'etre, or a 'main thing', that profits are maximized by the alignment of four key business areas: Strategy, Processes, People, and Customers. Built on this premise are actionalbe ways to build a self-aligning organization. I got the sense of discovering truth while I read this book. Leadership isn't really about power, it is about responsibility. This book shows a manager at any level how to align his area to the overall strategy of the company and to the end products of the company. It shows how processes should be designed and what factors should be used to reward, recognize and evaluate employees. Great food for thought and realistic to implement.

Powerful Organizational Focus

Quite simply, this book was one of the best business management and leadership books I have ever read. It was well-written and expertly balanced management and leadership concepts with real-world examples of effectively aligned organizations, such as Federal Express and Southwest Airlines. This book should be read and discussed by leaders and managers at all levels, especially by mid- to senior-level executives.

In brief, alignment deals with the relationships among the people, processes, strategy, and customers of an organization relative to that organization's purpose, or what the authors called "the main thing." Alignment is both a noun, a state of being, and a verb, a set of actions. Vertical alignment connects organizational strategy with the people responsible for transforming that strategy into meaningful work. Horizontal alignment deals with understanding your customers' wants and then creating processes to deliver what your customers want, when and how they want it. Effective leadership nurtures the organizational culture that is built around and upon "the main thing," and it is this culture and leadership combination that drives and sustains self-aligning organizations in turbulent times.

The authors' analogy of landing a plane helped me to visualize the dynamics involved with organizational alignment. To land a plane, a pilot must adjust and react to multiple simultaneous factors and conditions (i.e. air speed, altitude, angle of approach, wind speed and direction, etc.) and then understand how a change in one will affect the others. Likewise, to align an organization, a leader must adjust and react to feedback about his people, processes, strategy, and customers, and then understand how a change in one will affect the others.

The authors clearly and thoroughly explained the alignment factors and conditions throughout the book. They followed their explanations with incisive questions for readers to ask about themselves and their organizations to assess their degree of alignment. Those questions were definitely a highlight of the book for they really helped to stimulate my thinking and should help inspire organizational progress to alignment. Another highlight was the appendices that contained examples of actual tools and products used and created by some of the aligned organizations studied by the authors.

The inside back cover jacket sums up why I give the book my highest recommendation: "Essential reading for all managers and executives, "The Power of Alignment" offers a new way to reestablish focus and sustained energy, and is a dynamic approach for staying balanced and achieving extraordinary levels of performance."

Alignment is Key Essential Usually Overlooked

I found this book easy reading, concise, and presented it's basic premise well with specific examples and good suggestions for creation and implementation.

Working as a Director in Managed Care for several pharmaceutical companies, it creates a focus for any organization and a roadmap for the future(physician, health plan, pharmaceutical company) to avoid many of the mistakes and pitfalls that have already been experienced in an attempt to align with the ever changing healthcare landscape.

For those who do account management, it provides a construct and roadmap to use to optimize alignment with internal customers and maximize resources to create value and return with the external customers (....and their customers.) As the authors point, alignment is a continuing process, not a single event in time. Many companies become quickly aligned with the past, and misaligned with the present & future, and can not sustain the competitive edge because they forget this basic premise that the authors reinforce.

The concepts are basic and fundamental, but usually overlooked and forgotten in the day to day business of rapidly growing companies and changing environments.

Yes it is a masterpiece in nosology, but it is not just for professionals who need to diagnose for a living. ANYONE who wants to understand personality- I mean the FULL range of personality should read as least pages 1 to 31! You will read the non-dogmatic culmination of over 100 years of research, case study and wisdom that is applicable to all theoretic orienations. I found this manual a useful resource for the evaluation and treatment of our consultants.
It's also an invaluable aid for teaching psychotherapy.
As it presents personality traits as a continuum, with emphasis in healthy functional patterns and healthy personality, the comprehension of psychopatology results a dynamic process, not a cold list of symtoms.

If you're anything like me (by like "me" I mean you're not necessarily fond of the DSMs) chances are you'd like this alternate classification. All of the heavyweight psychoanalysis organizations joined together to produce a diagnostic manual that takes into account the subjective experience of the patient, beyond the description of a general diagnosis. The reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because I'd like it to have important information on transference and countertransference. Being created by the psychoanalytic organizations you'd expect it to include some notes on the Transference/Countertransferece experience in general for each pathology. But the truth is that this manual is actually useful even for therapists outside the psychoanalytic field, so the transferences/countertransference would have probably narrowed the group of psychotherapists it can reach being written the way it is.

The Rebirthing of American Mythology

America. A legend. A dream. A brand like no other. Dick Martin, author of Rebuilding Brand America: What We Must Do to Restore Our Reputation and Safeguard the Future of American Business Abroad, considers America all that and more. In reaction to the unprecendented level of anti-Americanism sweeping the globe, Mr. Martin calls for a drastic overhaul of the way American companies conduct business. Whether domestic or international, the impact of American commerce is felt worldwide. Mr. Martin treats "the sad condition of America's reputation on the world stage" with a thoroughness any political scientist would applaud.

While the author plainly states he is not an economist or political insider, his background as the former Vice President of Public Relations at A&T shines through every word. Clearly he was privy to major players, including politicians, who attempted to build a shining star called America that people around the world would adore. Citing opinion pollsters such as Zogby International, Mr. Martin underscores the unfortunate timing of several endeavors, such as Charlotte Beers who was named by then-Secretary of State Colin Powell to head up a global PR campaign to improve international opinion about `hard-hearted' America. Unfortunately, just as her tenure was getting underway in 2001, the terrorist attacks on the world Trade Center and the Pentagon sealed her early demise. Mr. Martin describes in great detail about her brave attempt to rebuild America's brand as the right PR gal at the wrong time.

Halfway through the book, we learn that anti-Americanism is not unique to the 21st Century. In fact, citing de Tocqueville and others, Mr. Martin makes the case that negative public opinion about America's choices has long been woven into the fabric of its existence. Globalization and the McDonaldization of virtually every country on the planet have led to contemporary feelings of ambivalence at best and hatred at the very worst. Interestingly, Mr. Martin points out how the French may despise Americans, yet they won't boycott burgers and fries. He investigates the psychology behind this distinction. McDonalds, for instance, has `glocalized' their franchise to include local tastes on the menu. Instead of beef burgers in India, they serve alternative meats. Nonetheless, the kitchen layout and work processes remain the same worldwide. According to Mr. Martin, such consistent messaging is an enormous achievement from which the purveyors of Brand America can learn.

The most compelling part of his book is his treatment of storytelling. A great part of public relations work centers around grand storytelling to evoke emotions and unforgettable associations with the brand you're trying to promote. King Arthur and the Round table, which undoubtedly pervades British mythology, stand for chivalry and honor. Levi's became an emblem of untenable freedom in Eastern Europe up until the early 90's It symbolized the Gold Rush, attaining wealth through sweat equity. We all know the Nike swoosh conveys the go-for-it athleticism that makes even seventy-year-olds Olympic champions. Why? It's all in the branding.

Brands make us a part of something larger than ourselves. It guarantees us an experience of unity, a connection with the Divine Spirit of the Good Life. It casts light into the shadows, grants hope to the hopeless, and builds a framework around which we create meaning in our lives. Dick Martin's book, Rebuilding Brand America, is an excellent treatise on what is good about America, on what we can do to improve our actions, and how to dismantle the one-way mirror so we can finally peer beyond the looking glass to see ourselves as others see us, too.

Dick Martin's book is a very interesting, almost "prismatic" overview of the multiple issues driving anti-american sentiment in the world today. When first confronted with this type of challenge, American Business either searches for "scapegoats" or attempts to derive comfort from it's growing overseas profits, not seeing the warning signs of what's to come.

I've just seen that Dick Martin will be running a webcast on this topic with the American Management Association on June 20th. Check out their website for more information.

Several books have failed to see, or make, the points that Dick Martin develops in his clear, logical and hopeful book about the future of U.S. diplomacy and the role of American business. A major challenge for American business

Can there be a more daunting challenge than restoring positive perceptions of the United States abroad? Dick Martin's book clearly drives home to the reader the problems that the US faces due to the widespread anti-Americanism sentiment that currently prevails throughout the world. The book is well-balanced, thoroughly researched and timely. He offers a plan to prod government and business to begin the long, difficult process to reverse the loss of prestige and influence that haunts the US today.
This important book should be read and taken seriously by people throughout government and business. I highly recommend it as a must read.

While the author states that this book is to be targeted to persons seeking to enter senior management or higher roles within non-profits, I think this reads more like a general job search book. It sounds like the author is writing from the standpoint of a headhunter. Here is the table of contents:

Chapters 3-13 are what I consider topics you can find in any "job search" book. Though I should say that the author does *touch* upon how the Non-profit sector is unique in some of these respects. What I did find useful are all the website references that may provide more information.

It reads quickly- I think I finished it in about an hour. I appreciate the amount of information that it packs in its 100 pages, especially if you are looking for a resource book that is quick-and-dirty and to-the-point.

As an alternative (or as a supplementary), I think Transitioning to the Nonprofit Sector by Kaplan, published in 2007 (Laura Gassner Otting), might be more informative, depending on what your objectives are.

I read this book in the fall 2006 when I was in the midst of looking for a job in the DC area. It was a helpful resource. It reinforced information I already knew and then mentioned new information. It gives tips on creating a resume, informational interviews, interviews, the importance of a thank you card and what to include in it. I will definitely continue to refer to this resource again. I've mentioned it to other friends as well looking for a job in the nonprofit sector.

Slesinger's book is an excellent blueprint for beginning a search and following through, even when life gets in the way. The step-by-step game plan and practical advice alone are worth the cover price, and best of all Slesinger leaves you motivated and feeling like you want to immediately get started hunting for your next great job. I have to confess that I literally missed my bus stop while examining the section on resumes; I do a lot of hiring and I see a lot of resumes, and his advice is dead on.

If you want a new job or think you might, get this book now.

This classic on what your daily walk should be like as a Christian is as relevant today as it was in 1728, when the book was first penned. Some terms and wording reminds one that this work is almost three hundred years old, but it nails so many issues that are dealt with today, that it just shows what a timeless work this is.

It is revealing and sobering. Not a light read. You have to be serious about your walk with Christ or it will be a total waste of time.

If you're looking for a challenge in your spiritual walk - this is the book for you. Law's classic book was the transforming resource in the lives of the Wesley brothers as well as abolitionist William Wilberforce - just as it changed their lives, this book will not leave you the same!

I've read an abridged and edited version for the modern reader by John Meister (158 pages) - but it wasn't enough - I had to order the small type 317 page version! This is not an easy read - on the difficulty scale of 1 - 10, this would be a solid 9. I wouldn't suggest this book to anyone in high school or even college - Law deals with real world issues and a little seasoning in life is necessary to get the full effect of his challenge. This is a perfect book for the Christian man who wants more than a Purpose Driven Life, the man looking for a profound, insightful, and challenging read that will deeply impact the core of his being!

You can find these books online. The longer version is a Vintage Spiritual Classics edition and retails for around $13.00. Rare will be the person that will want this book - but if you're the one, don't pass this one up! I give this my highest endorsement and recommendation.

Law deals directly with the concept of devotion to God - and asks some difficult questions about where man places his true devotion in life - in the things of this world, or in the Kingdom of Heaven? Law argues that a wise and reasonable man will wholly devote himself to the things of the Lord for they are far superior to the temporal and worthless things of this world. In fact, Law says that a lack of this devotion is a clear indicator of gross ignorance! The book gives several practical elements necessary for a devoted life including prayer, study, humility and confession. But it is not the elements about which Law writes, it is the manner in which he presents them to the reader that makes this book so exceptional - Law raises the bar and challenges the follower of Christ to live an exemplary life, a life worthy of their calling, a life comparable to the great saints who have walked before us or even to angels who minister above us!

wow - what an inspirational, hard-hitting, right on read this has been. I'm still in the process of reading it but I already love it. This should be required reading for all Christians. Then perhaps the church would live differently than the world and perhaps we'd have less scandal.

So far I can see that there needs to be a balance. One could easily tend towards legalism and a justification by self-works type of mentality. Perhaps he'll cover in later chapters how it's the Spirit of God that now creates the will to do differently and also empowers us to do so as we allow him to lead us in all areas of our lives.

But as long as one is aware of this work of the Spirit in a believer's life, then this book can do nothing but stimulate one to self-reflection and love and good works.

A Serious but Dangerously Legalistic Call

The fact Pastor John Piper in some of his books, "Don't Waste Your Life" and "A Hunger for God" quoted Law in this book several times intrigued me to read it personally. As I went through the chapters, however, it is clear to me and will become clear to the readers as well that Law sounds eerily close to a Roman Catholic minus the devotions to the rituals. Despite many deep, excellent, stinging, uncomfortable, soul-searching reflections and illustrations on the Christian life contrasted against the futility of a self-centered life that I believe are profitable for Christians, particularly to defy the preaching of prosperity gospel that seems to "prosper" more than the true gospel, sadly Law embraces the fatally erroneous doctrine of justification by works. In his view, Christians need to practice the principles of piety, self-denial, generosity, meekness, simplicity of life and all the Bible, particularly the New Testament teaches, the best they can in order to be saved that sounds all too familiarly popish. What he mostly brings up from the Bible is the wonderful teachings of Christ. There is no mention of poverty of spirit, dependence on God's grace to live a sanctified life or to desire to live for him to begin with, let alone the cross, justification by faith, sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit, and perseverance of the saints.

Well, the immediate questions that arise are of course, aren't Christians saved already, and that they are saved by grace on the basis of the finished atoning death and resurrection of Christ on the cross, and not by works? How does one know that he has done his best? What is the standard? Whose standard is it to use to determine whether one has done his best, man's or God's? If it is man's standard, which one? The Pope's? How can we be so sure if it is his standard to be used, not someone else's? If it is God's, where is it in the Bible that says God commands us to do the best we can and not rely on him for everything without excluding our responsibilities? Where is it in the Bible that God's standard says we are saved as long as we do the best we can? This is unquestionably deadly because in the end, it points to the perfectionist demand of the law where no one can meet, which is warned against by the Apostle Paul in his epistles, particularly to the Romans and Galatians. The meat of what Law talks about is all about doing and there is no mention of child-like dependence and trusting on God's grace in Christ through the Holy Spirit to enable us to follow what Law, in some cases, biblically and exquisitely exhorts to embrace and practice. To properly describe what Law offers here is a mixture of rich food and poison. The rich food is his biblical heart-piercing warnings, rebukes, reflections, illustrations and encouragements, specifically about prayer, fasting, simplicity, modesty, generosity, humility and self-denial that I must admit are too good, too important, and too bitter-sweet, eye-opening of an exposure and remedy to my own weaknesses to be overlooked as well as too precious to be neglected in practice. The poison is his constant insistence of justification by works. For the fullest benefit to be reaped, enjoy the rich food. Let it purify our souls and reform our lives, but spit the poison out. Instead, embrace and enjoy the even richer food of justification in Christ alone, by grace alone, through faith alone, and to the glory of God alone for these are the fountain that enables all true piety.

There's so much valuable information in here. I wear several hats, as an activist, news and opinion site publisher and director of a non-profit and this book provided highly useful facts, perspective and advice for all three.

Taking the socioneurobiopsychology of women and explaining how to use that understaning to more effectively reach women and, at the same time men, just makes good sense. The concrete, specific differences in behavior, perception, and how to approach them that the book lays out are a veritable treasure. I'm using what I've learned routinely now.

This is one book, if you work in activism, advocacy, marketing, campaigns,fundraising, etc., that you will never regret investing your time in reading.

What a great book! I recommend this to anyone interested in politics, government, communications, or social justice. I've ready numerous books on feminism, business, and communicating messages and this is up there with the best. Witter and Chen are great writers and brilliant thinkers, and they masterfully combine marketing analysis with the most current and innovative social data to explain not only why it is critical to market ideas and products to women, but also how to do so. If you are thinking of running for office, starting a new organization, selling an idea, or marketing a product, this is a must read and a must buy.

This book is special in that it adds empirical support for the authors' business hypothesis. However, their ideas themselves are not revolutionary. Rather they organized and framed a lot of the ideas that today's business leaders already know and practice.

I suppose that the book is in the tradition of academic research paper rather than overblown business hyperbole. As with any academic oriented publications, they make less than interesting reading, but valuable nevertheless.

Yet Another Proof of the Synergy Between "The Ivory Tower" and Contemporary Business

Survival of the Smartest is one of those management books that made its way through the academic world (or so-called the Ivory Tower) into the real-world. In contrary to what is expected, it does a very good job in connecting these two seemingly unrelated fields.

The novel concept, "Organizational IQ", was developed theoretically by Prof. Haim Mendelson and published in some leading academic journals such as Management Science and Information Systems Research. This book summarizes the results of those publications in an easy-to-read way. Organizational IQ is defined as "...a quantifiable measure of how organizations assimilate information and put together their decision and information architectures." It is argued and proved empirically in the book that High-IQ organizations on average are more successful than Low-IQ organizations. A company's organizational IQ describes how well the organization performs along five dimensions:

(1) External Information Awareness
(2) Effective Decision Architecture
(3) Internal Knowledge Dissemination
(4) Organizational Focus
(5) Information Age Business Network.

Mendelson describes each of these dimensions in detail and supports its arguments through the use of case studies from Dell, Hewlett-Packard, Acer, British Petroleum (BP), and Modex (a real company with a disguised name).

Although, the main focus of the book is on the use of Information Technology applications along these dimensions, an average reader will not have any difficulty in understanding these concepts if s/he knows what an Internet or Intranet is used for.

The book can be recommended as a supporting textbook for Strategy, Marketing, or Information Systems courses, especially in the graduate level. Whether you are in academia or in business, it is one of the books you should read if you are interested in how business should be done in the Information Age. Forget about the past Industrial Age books, they are already history... Chrysler has learned it in its own way (page 100 in the book)
