Morehead State University Books

I found this book to display Morehead State University to be a very humble, decent institution of higher learning. Dr. Flatt did an excellent job of potraying the history of MSU just as it was. He told the truth without being harsh or cruel to thise that may have deserved to be harsh and cruel to. It is an excellent school, and he is an excellent teacher. Morehead is lucky to have such a good school in it's town.

don flatt lives and writes about the growth and development of a fine eastern Ky educational institution. Why would a city the size of Morehead wind up with such a valuable piece of the the higher learning picture? Adron Doran and his wife Mignon were most instrumental in bringing the school into its prominence. Doran was a man of many talents and it was through his leadership the most dynamic growth occurred during the 60s-70s. The book is an interesting read of characters who played key roles in getting and keeping the school at its present location. The title is perfect. Boys and Girls who attended the school were getting their first real look at the real world. Flatt does a great job of weaving facts into his story telling to make this a wonderful read. Having been a student there in the 70s, on the GI Bill, I appreciate Flatts outstanding research. Anyone who cares about education, educaters and good old fashion bull dog determination will have a great book to read.
