If there are people who will contest the will or complicated properties, business deals; most likely, you will need a lawyer and probating yourself will not work. But if it is very clear and simple, you can probabe yourself. Great book, worh every penny spent on it.

you through the entire process and explains all the jargon. The only
problem I had with it is that if your probate includes anything which
is a little out-of-the-ordinary, e.g., heirs/beneficiaries who may contest the will, it does not help. However, one book cannot cover 100% of
the possible cases. This book probably covers 95% of the probate cases
and is helpful even if you are one of the "odd-cases" and you are not familiar with the probate process.

Terrific, Smart and Funny!Review Date: 2006-06-04
Merullo intertwines the two into one entity. Benedetto, orphaned at a young age becomes enmeshed with not only his sizable family of uncles, aunts and cousin's but within the atmosphere that defines Revere. In doing so he creates a conflict that Anthony has to comprehend to sort out the person he genuinely is.
The troupe of characters Merullo has tenderly created is difficult to abandon. The uncle with the oversized personality, who speaks with the grace of a bull and not a 'r' in sight! The Italian grandparents are drawn with out and out perfection, gracefully quiet, yet they have skillful unspoken wisdom that Merullo conveys to the reader with charm and lure.
(Yes, I'm from New England and yes, I had Italian grandparents!)
Revere itself will be a place difficult for the reader to leave behind, from the main street called Broadway, (I have many wicked memories of Broadway...especially during the Blizzard of '78!)...to the richly ornate church of St. Anthonys to the fine grains of sand of Revere Beach; all of these are calling cards to the young Anthony's experiences.
This book is a slice of modern, everday history. A well crafted, impeccably researched and laugh aloud story that is highly enjoyable regardless where you are from!

I loved this book for its nostalgia, for its acute observances of the life around the main character, Anthony, for the questions it brought up around my own family, and for the skilled technique in the writing itself.
A wonderful, wonderful work.

The ring of truth (live)Review Date: 2003-06-25
In contrast, Clements' words are alive with authentic conviction, and the unmistakeable clarion ring of truth. There's not a trace of pontification. This man has lived an incredible life. He's able to capture the essence of real spirituality and deliver it live and wriggling to the reader. I don't know how he does it. But, as a writer myself, I know that there's only one way he could do it. By really living it. And clearly he does.
He came back down from the mountaintop, so listen up, folks, cause he's really got something worth hearing.

The Kind of Love That Saves YouReview Date: 2000-11-26
stirring page-turner explores grief, pregnancy, friendshipReview Date: 2001-10-18
Written as a series of journal entires/letters to her yet unborn child, the novel limps through its first third and does not attain its true stature until the protagonist confronts the very issue to which she introduces the reader in her moving prologue. In the novel's second paragraph, Sarah admonishes us that "every person's journey is touched by loss...Grief will reach in and wrap its roots tightly around your heart." The novel's central premise is presented in the next paragraph: "What I know now and so desperately want you to understand is that the grief that comes from losing someone does not have to be an ending. As with most experiences in life, you have a choice."
One the author has introduced the cruel and abrupt removal of Sarah's husband, however, her characters become truly alive to each other. "The Kind of Love" is no pat treatment of either the grieving process or the impact of pregnancy on a suddenly-single mother. Sarah Strickland pours out her heart to her yet unborn child; her uncertainties, ambivalences, fears and anger resonate with authenticity. Her lifelong friendship with Calista strains and nearly buckles under the stresses of Sarah's newly-minted anguish. Though the reader yearns for reassurance that the honorable protagonist will prevail -- that life will reassert itself in all its wonder, possibility and frustration -- the author never bends to convenience in her resolution of Sarah's life.
Splendid characterizations abound in this slim, immensely readable novel. Not only does Sarah come to unknowingly represent the verities of the heart she so valiantly struggles to comprehend, her friendships with Sarah and the stranger, Julie, seem real and genuine. Since the entire novel is written as a series of journal entries, readers should not expect soaring eloquence on every page. Sarah's decisions and actions speak far more convincingly that her words.
Nevertheless, Ms. Yurk has provided her audience with ample evidence that both she and her imagined protagonist are living with an informed heart. Against our wishes, we are compelled to acknowledge the "wonder of pain," but through that pain comes a renewed possibility of love. Indeed, the love that Sarah discovers for her unborn child is so fierce, so consuming, that it acts as a transformative influence in her wanderings through the barren recesses of grief. It is a love so deep, so thorough, so cleansing, that it becomes the kind of love that saves you.
A Heartwarming Afternoon DelightReview Date: 2001-03-11
Finally, Gavin agrees to start a family and they are both ecstatic when Sarah becomes pregnant. Then tragedy strikes and the bonds of friendship between Sarah and Calista are sorely tested. Although Calista does her best to help Sarah through her devastating loss, they grow further and further apart. Sarah starts a friendship with a new neighbor who coincidentally has suffered a similar loss, and this causes jealousy between Sarah and Calista.
The author's ability to explore the depths and heights of human emotion and suffering are impressive. This book will make you laugh and cry and totally empathize with all the characters. I couldn't put the book down until I finished it.

Your next few yearsReview Date: 2006-10-22
Their goal was to experience the daily life and the culture of several locations in Europe The path to that goal included selling a home, disposing of years of accumulated stuff, renting an apartment, making the travel plans, and dealing with health issues along the way.
It is a story written from each of their perspectives giving some history of their families, what brought them to this decision, the challenges they faced and a description of their stays in European. Their descriptions are personal and delightful. Those who have traveled even briefly in similar style will be reminded of their own frustrating mishaps that then became fond and some of the best recollected memories.
You'll likely end the reading of their story wondering about your own next few years and maybe even getting out a pencil and paper.

Don & Dana record their impressions of the cultural offerings of each sojourn, the places and events savored and the pleasure of forming new friendships. They've described frustrations encountered with language whilst settling into each place but even those hiccups were viewed as amusing episodes .
Leaving Home at 72 details these two years through alternating essays written in Don and Dana's individual, whimsical, thoughtful styles that reveals much about their personalities and enduring interests. It's apparent that both thoroughly enjoyed the going, seeing, doing and laughing at the peculiarities of living abroad. Best of all, they bring to the reader an awareness that life after 70 affords a special opportunity to plunge ahead, to act on a dream and "to boldly go" to parts not yet explored.

Excellent Guidebook for one of the Gameboy Greats!Review Date: 2000-06-08
There is one stint I have against it, however. At the beginning of each section, they have suggestions for things you ought to do. This is all well and fine - but one some of these they should direct you to the page number that dealt with that specific item or whatever it is. Example: they say in one of the later sections it is good to go and get your boomerang. You have to go back and find where they talk about the boomerang (which, as I remember, in the early part of the book, not the section it should be). But this is only a minor stint.
Another good thing is they have a map, and on the back of that is where to get all the new pictures from the camera shop. The only problem with that is if you lose the map, you're basically screwed in the picture department.
Visually very nicely laid out. You can very clearly tell where you need to go. The dungeons are taken step by step, and is an excellent example in the writing of guides. I would like to see more of their work: if its anywhere near this good, then they're great overall. They should be regularly featured guide writers (they probably are). The one problem I mentioned is only minor, and does not deserve to detract an entire star.
Therefore, this guide book is 4 & ½ stars. Keep it up you guys! Actually, on second thought, a full 5 stars.

The Life Cycles of ButterfliesReview Date: 2008-01-21
My brother and I collected butterflies as children. Our grandfather built beautiful display cases of wood, glass and cork. When I found this book at a nature center I knew I had to have it for my own grandchildren. The focus is on observation rather than collecting, and even includes a section on butterfly gardening to attract the butterflies right to your own back yard. Gorgeous photographs and clear text make this book a valuable resource for young nature lovers, and their grandparents.
