This would make a wonderful gift for someone. It includes a miniature celtic stain glass coloring book, celtic stickers, celtic bookmarks, celtic temporary tatoos, a small celtic journal, and a small book of about six or seven stencils. I liked this item. It was nice, and inexpensive.

Champion makes great mesh shorts and when I shopped locally I could never find my size or the color so here they are and easy and quick too.

These are the shorter leg length champions I can NEVER find in stores as it seems everyone wants the ones that go below the knee or that many of the youngers like to wear half way down their thigh anyway so their butts hangout....

Anyhow these are the same quality as in a store, very durable for years of use and easy to wash and dry.

A Unique and Valuable Compendium of Diverse Pragmatists
Helpful Votes: 1 out of 1 total.
Review Date: 2003-12-07
Pragmatist William James' 1904 exclamation that "Chicago has a School of Thought!" exhibiting "real thought and a real school" was exactly right. Now, nearly a century later, we have a real compendium (137 articles) of the works central to this school. This valuable series complements several other pragmatist-centered series Shook has pulled together (among them, "Chicago Functionalists," "Early Critics of Pragmatism" and "Early Defenders of Pragmatism"). Taken together, these series offer scholars an exceptionally convenient historical resource. They are part of Thoemmes Press's ambitious History of American Thought project, which aims to bring together elusive or out-of-print titles. The historical breadth of Thoemmes' project is laudable for it extends beyond works by the pragmatists to examinations of the St. Louis Hegelians, as well as early American receptions of Darwin, Hume, and the German idealists, to name just a few.

There is little to criticize in this well-chosen and well-introduced series. This series is highly recommended. The books themselves are well-made and designed for long use. Footnotes (rather than endnotes) are a welcome convenience. Good-to-superb introductions and an intelligent choice of articles invite readers to witness a vibrant and multifaceted period in the evolution of several disciplines. Dewey scholars will benefit especially by many articles chronicling his examination by (and debate with) realists and idealists, as well as the way in which his views were interpreted and applied by his colleagues and students. Throughout the four volumes, the exchanges are vigorous, ideologies are varied, and the activism is unapologetic. Such a collection is available nowhere else.

Ambitious in scope and design
Helpful Votes: 4 out of 4 total.
Review Date: 2008-03-21
This ambitious production presents a well organized and defined typology of urban form. The ten categories comprising the 'x' in the title, are explained by way of a logical progression of contemporary case studies and historical precedents. Each chapter is divided into two parts, a collection of images followed by text. The dynamic CAD imagery and radical spatial diagramming provide in-depth analysis of highly complex architectural projects. The text succinctly draws out the key concepts of each of the projects, and more importantly, locates them in an historical continuum.

Despite the value of the text and imagery in themselves, the physical dislocation of the imagery from the related writing (to the point of presenting unlabeled images) can be annoying at times. One imagines the author intended the images to be experienced first without textual guidance as one might experience a visit to an unfamiliar city. It is an interesting idea, but it encroaches on the overall readability of the book as one is forced to flip back and forth excessively.

The organizational structure of the content extends to the physical design of the book itself. Two types of paper are combined in an elegantly produced object. Unfortunately, the library copy which I borrowed was already losing pages from the middle. In a book less than a year old, this indicates a structural problem with the binding. Nonetheless, this is an exciting project that will leave students, educators, and practitioners with a broader understanding of the nature of urban form.

This is the information that outlines the importance of Jury Duty, and your rights as a Juror. Quotes from the Founders and your Constitutional rights, and of course the reasons for the founders worldview (yes that crazy stuff out of the Bible).

Read this book, research the facts, and read it again.
