WILLIMENA'S RULES! HOW TO FISH FOR TROUBLE by Valerie Wilson Wesley is rule book #2 in a series of books about Willimena
Thomas. It's spring break and Willimena is excited to have a whole week out of school and overjoyed that her favorite cousin,
Teddy, is coming to spend spring break at her house. Her dad has all kinds of activities planned for Willimena, her big sister,
Tina and cousin Teddy. Willimena can hardly wait for Teddy's arrival but when Teddy does finally arrive he goes from being
F.C. (favorite cousin) to T.T.T (Teddy the Terrible). Teddy is getting all the attention from everyone including Tina, her
father and all her friends. What was once going to be a fun week for Willimena ends up being a horrible one as she feels
left out of everything and replaced by her cousin Teddy. When Willimena starts fishing for trouble it isn't hard to see who
her bait will be, cousin Teddy.
Valerie Wilson Wesley's WILLIMENA'S RULES! HOW TO FISH FOR TROUBLE takes us on an adventurous journey of what happens when a child feels left out. All children at one time or another have felt left out and it is exciting to see how Willimena handles the situation. I recommend this book to those of you with children ages 9-12. My 9 year old read it as soon as I finished and she loved it too.

When P. T. Barnum stated that "there's a sucker born every minute" - he never meant that those 'suckers' weren't good people,
simply that they were capable of being deceived by the unscrupulous. "How to Get Rich As a Televangelist or Faith Healer"
is Bill Wilson's expose on this special brand of confidence trickster. Pointing out how these wildly charismatic and greedy
con men exploit a religion known for love and charity to only divert that charity and love to themselves. "How to Get Rich
As a Televangelist or Faith Healer" tells of how these people exploit religious tax-free status and other loop holes to make
their millions off of the gullible and trusting. Warning readers that if there is a Christian hell, "How to Get Rich" underscores
that using the tactics of the hypocritical televangelist is also a sure and certain way to have God prepare a first class
ticket to the domain of Satan when the time comes. "How to Get Rich As a Televangelist or Faith Healer" is strongly recommended
reading and an important addition to personal, academic, and community library collections.

I took Marge's class at Leeds and had to use her book a couple times there, but it was only recently that I read most of it
all the way through. It is helping so much in my thesis work and research; I strongly recommend the book for anyone doing
any sort of igneous geochem!

I usually don't go for SciFi's but this book was recommended by a friend and I'm glad I read it. I couldn't put it down. I
was spellbound, its fast pace, riveting plot, kept me absorbed throughout. You want a book to read on the plane, train, or
just tucked up in bed, this one's IT...Immortalis, it's only fault was that it had to end, or did it?

i saw this show in san francisco, and, as an artist, i was moved to silent reverie. the works are astonishing! whoever asssembled
them deserves the thanks of anyone who has known the cold, stark beauty of winter and kept its memory in their souls. the
artists who captured these moments in time are unmatched in contemporary painting. simply, i thank god for their lives
and work. as one who still believes in the power of beauty upon the human spirit, i walked away from this show elevated and
in awe. most particularly, i was enveloped by the works of gustave caillebotte --- so little known in america; so wondrous
in the realization of his vision and his time. this show is serene. and this book comes close to reflecting its essence.

Add this gem to your art book collection. As a screen printer, I have been increasingly seduced by the "winter palette". This
wonderful volume compiles the best of the Impressionists as they, too, came to appreciate and explore the unique light, the
effects of the weather, the shapes of hibernating nature, the muted hues, and the brooding melancholy of Effets de Neige.

Regarding Science-Ejected Vitalism, 2002:

Vitalism is a profoundly science-ejected concept, though many CAM or 'natural health' cabals falsely claim that vitalism survives
scientific scrutiny.
This book is a prime example of naturopathy's vitalism [aka "vis medicatrix naturae"].
I quote:
"naturopathy [...] the main aim of diagnosis is to find out how well your vital force is working [...in naturopathy,] hydrotherapy may be used to help stimulate the body's vital force [p.058]."

Inflamatory Bowel Disease-Food Solutions

Review Date: 2003-11-04
Review Date: 2003-11-04
The book provides classic symptoms for inflammatory bowel
disease; such as, feeling of fullness, irritable bladder,
headache, fatigue and fibromyalgia. The authors distinguish
between mechanical digestion and chemical digestion which
is the enzyme breakdown of food in the body. IBS happens when
the muscular activity or motility is altered. Contraction
either speeds up or slows down food movements through the
digestive tract. John Hopkins University found that 6 - 8
peristaltic contractions were the ideal; whereas, IBS patients
can have as few as "0" contractions and as many as 25.
A slowdown of food movements can lead to putrification of
the food, fermentation and bacterial overgrowth. Classic
triggers of this condition are dairy, insufficient fiber,
excessive smoking, stress and certain types of drugs.
The challenge for the patient is to diarize the food each
day and the adverse reactions as a condition precedent to
managing this disease. A related work by Hamlyn recommends
the evaluation of stool samples for parasitic infection and
the sigmoidoscopy or colonoscopy. Loperamide may be utilized to
reduce bowel contractions and Mebeverine is an anti-spasm
drug. Ispaghula husk may be used as a bulking agent to harden
stool prior to elimination. Peppermint oil classically relaxes
gut muscles. Hamlyn's work recommends that IBS patients
reduce sugary foods, reduce or eliminate smoking, increase
omega 3 oils and decrease milk consumption.

I am a painter and am always scouring book stores and sources for good books on other artists.I am also intersted in exploring
artists from different countries. It is fasinating to discover their influences and their lives with their contemporaries.
This man has the same sensitivity to the landscape as many of my favorite impressionist landscape painters. It is a lovely
book and I will be looking for more about Levitan.

Cutter Ford is calling in a favor from Whitney Tate. She used to work for him until .....
Now she has to return to the field of gathering information from a very reluctant former terrorist hostage.
How can she get close to a man who refuses to stay in one place more than a week?
Jacob Michael Hill is a driven man who suffers from nightmares that seem to come and go at will. He cannot survive if anyone is allowed to get close to him. He cannot allow anyone to touch him physically yet he is drawn to this petite, blond haired woman.
Cutter arranges for Whitney's expensive car to break down near Bliss, Arizona. It seems that Jake is employed at the only garage in Bliss. He offers Wally a week of free work to gain a job.
You can feel the heat of Arizona in this story of two wounded people - one trying to help the other survive a killing trauma and pay off a debt.
But then Whitney begins to care for the tormented Jake, even after he tries to kill her. Jake is running scared now that he knows what he may be capable of.
What is the reason that Cutter needs the information from Jake for? Why does he ruthlessly put Whitney in a position of possible danger. Especially of losing her heart.
Jake knows that nothing can ever come of his reluctant interest in Whitney. Then they both travel out to the ancient Indian burial grounds at Wally's insistence. Again something strange happens - then Jake opens up just a little to Whitney and almost ........
It seems that Whitney is getting unseen, other-world help in detaining Jake's departure.
Suddenly Jake is being faced with lock-up and Whitney must call in Cutter's help to prevent Jake going over the edge.
Great story! great characters!
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED --M - Certainly a keeper to be read again.

Jake needs the healing touch of a good woman but he hates to be touched since spending time in a terrorist prison. The unspeakable
horrors he suffered torment him, especially at night, when the nightmare returns in vivid detail. He sleeps with the doors
and windows open to the outdoors or better yet, when he can, out in the open. He rides a motorcycle and flaunts public disdain
so as not to let anyone get close. The woman who finally gets to him is sent to try to get him to come in to the authorities
for de-briefing about his imprisonment. As she slowly uncovers the reasons behind his reluctance to talk or be touched, she
also discovers the torment in his soul. She then is caught between her "job" and her growing attraction to Jake. This story
is one of the most original I have ever read and it's on my keeper shelf.

It is hard to believe that a book that is so evocative in the none facile sense remains a dead pan loquation of justifiable
anti-infantilism. Much of what masquarades as art is puerile rot:the Wilsons are magic; they are geet lush; they are great.
I love their work. Killer lines within are awash with qualitative prose of a none epic sense, yet it remains provocatively
angst ridden and betlittles the concept of alienation and estrangement. Contempt is a dilute form of hate.

It is this transparency of surveillance imposed under the auspices of protection and care which interests the Wilsons. From
the implied complicity of Hypnotic Suggestion 505 (1993) to the beguiling kitsch of Las Vegas Graveyard Time (1999), their
work reveals the mechanism of coercion under the absent yet omnipresent 'eye of power'. The obvious distinction between their
earlier work and more recent investigations is a shift away from the human figure (usually one or both of the artists) as
sole metaphor for the complicit subject to depopulated sites, which resonate with implied social control.

I wanted a series of books with the star character being an African American girl just having fun and doing kid stuff. A book that will make them know that reading is fun. This book does just that and more.
I only wish that there were more of them because I already bought them all.
If you're looking for a great chapter book for an African American girl, then author Valerie Wilson Wesley's series of "Willimena Rules" is it.
Also try, Gloria Rising and Gloria's Way by Ann Cameron.
