Jason Moore and Len Wilson do a great job of explaining how to create imagery for worship. unlike thier other books, that
deal more with a theology of imagery in worship or the practical aspect of congregational expectations, this book is very
much the get-in-and-get-your-hands-dirty book by creating imagery. This is thier attempt at the overview of art school for
the novice and I believe it is successful. I find myself encouraged and motivated. Thank you Jason and Len.
I would recommend reading "Digital Storytellers" first for the doctrine and theology. It is good to mule these over first.

This book is very thorough... It embraces ideals that we, as a people, hold dear and yet it is grounded in truth... the reality
of our circumstances. I would definitely recommend this book to all who have dealt, are dealing and will be dealing with
"the black child."

As Dr. Wilson correctly observed, "In an oppressive society, the social institutions, of which the family is part and parcel,
actually work against the oppressed." That said, one must recognize that the oppressed mustn't employ the same methods as
the oppressor for building strong families and rearing productive children. In the Developmental Psychology of the Black
Child, Dr. Wilson skillfully provides Black parents with the tools needed to produce the type of children needed for further
the race.

Bradford Morrow's DIDN'T DIDN'T DO IT pairs wordplay with the fin story of Didn't and his friends, who decide to build a tree
house against all odds - and against the tree's previous bird owners, who aren't happy. Fun wordplay teaches kids language
while providing an entertaining story line with some rollicking results.

I really enjoyed this collection of short stories. Often I would stop reading and think to myself, "Why is this so familiar?".
This book was actually published in the US under the title London Transport....and I had read it! In this collection Maeve
Binchy looks into the lives of the many people who come and go on London's underground every day. This book offers up a wonderful
cross section of society and engaging characters. Binchey is at her best describing people and their frailities. There are
no clear cut heros or villians, rather the people are infused with a humanity and humor that carry you along. If you're a
Binchy fan this is a must add to your colection (unless you already have London Transport). A treat to read and to reread.
Excellent, but published in America under another name.

this book has been published in the United States as "London Transports." If you've read one, you've read the other

If you wonder what XO or Fine Champagne stands for this book is for you. The Cognac Companion provides helpful information
on how to read Cognac labels, what glassware to use, and if your favorite Cognac house accepts visitors. The Cognac house
listing is a great way to expand your knowledge beyond what you might find in your local retailer. I would recommend this
book to the casual consumer as well as the connoisseur.

I found the Distillery to be captivating & colorful! It is basically about two young women's Adventures, as they come of
age in the post-prohibition 30's. The situations are dramatic and often hilarious--a real page turner. There is a cast of
characters worthy of John Berendt's 'Garden of Good & Evil'... it offers plenty of suspense. This seems to be the first of
a series of books following the original two girl's lives and their offspring. A Quick Paced story, and thoroughly entertaining
read! I also bought Mystic River by Dennis Lehane/Walkin the Dog by Walter Mosley

Dollars & Sense Of Divorce Is Invaluable

I first read Judith Briles' Dollars & Sense of Divorce in the late 1980s. I was involved in a messy divorce and her down-to-earth
descriptions of the human foibles and scenarios that play out in a divorce rang true. I found her funny, kind, and smart.
The second section of the book provides financial advice to women on their own after the divorce. This was VERY helpful to
me. Thanks to Judith, I began to buy a few small stocks, save money, invest, and generally prosper. As a former poet/writer/beatnik,
the world of money management was not one I came to easily. I recently bought the book for my sister. In fact, I bought
both editions for her--the original one, which I knew; and the update, so the legal information would be current. She also
reports reading BOTH books avidly and finding them VERY helpful.
It's a "Divorce Defense Manual"!

From RadioTour and Broadcast Interview Source: If you feel as though your marriage has turned into an episode of the
X-Files, this book's for you. Dr. Judith Briles explains in everyday English (no legalese) what's important - and what's
not - as she helps you devise a smart divorce strategy. She offers practical advice to help you make it through just
about every issue that could come up before, during and a divorce. She provides the strength you need to gain the financial
and legal edge in your break-up. Among the points covered: * The 13 biggest divorce blunders and how to avoid them.
* Why it's healthy to develop an ``Anger Plan``. * Ways to break the news of your break-up to your kids, your family,
the in-laws and your friends. * Custody: How to keep your kids * Lawyers: How to find a one, or manage and control
the one you have. * Plus tips for negotiating a financial package, and how to determine if you deserve a share of your
spouse's pension or retirement plan
Dr. Briles understands the emotional roller coaster you're riding on through a divorce. She doesn't trivialize -- she empowers you by helping you build strength and self-esteem.

If you felt awed by Wilson's "The Outsider," then this candid and insightful autobiography will certainly please you in revealing
the real life struggles which led up to one of the most indispensable philosophical companions of the 20th century. The many
profound connections he made in his debut novel which offered a hopeful and remedial perspective on art, life, and love are
discussed in detail here. From conversations with fellow factory workers to dinners with famed writers like Albert Camus,
the reader is provided with a tangible look at the altruistic search for meaning in the world.
Wilson's "Dreaming to Some Purpose" begins by exploring his adolescent years, the pendulum swing of optimism and pessimism, and the yearning for spritual and intellectual clarity that seemed at odds with his poor, working class surroundings. It's great to see the nomadic "down and out" early adult years he spent backpacking through Europe and later his drafting of "The Outsider" in between trips from the Museum of British History and the tent he lived in outside of London. What's also admirable is his candor in unveiling his early sexual experiences which are somewhat linked to his philosophical epiphanies. His thoughts about love, sex, morality, and family gave me the sense that Wilson is much more in touch with the common man than most writers of his generation claimed to be.
But the lens he uses to examine his own rise to fame and the setbacks which immediately followed it makes one think about how life is eternally subject to change and that the plateau or "peak experiences" we reach are never stationary or permanent. I realize now (in my early 30's living outside NYC) how the peaks are often confused with false summits. His words truly motivate me in all areas of my life to never stop, to never give up, even after success has been achieved.
Ultimately, the perspectives and experiences that Wilson provides in this autobiography are bound to satisfy the readers out there who gravitate toward texts of philosophy, art, psychology, and spirtuality. It may seem trite to say that this is in some ways a world class self-help book. But living in a world where stress, fear, and ennui continue to threaten the human condition, I owe much to Mr. Wilson for keeping me on the path and helping me keep my chin up. The abyss between the real and the ideal is not as daunting.

Love Dare and Fireproof Your Marriage Leader's Kit (DVD & Guide) The exclusive video clips from the film are dramatic and
thought-provoking, and discussion is really stirred in group members from watching them. The film clips show a very "real"
marriage that everyone can relate to on some level. An excellent tool in conjunction with the Love Dare devotional book and
the movie experience itself.

After going through the Fireproof Your Marriage curriculum, my wife and I learned how to love and respect each other unconditionally.
We practiced The Love Dare principles as featured in the film. With the kit, each of us got our own Participant's Guide and
we followed along with the video clips that came with the package. You don't need to see the movie to benefit by the material
because the video clips fit each section perfectly. We are looking forward to the film when it is released next week. My wife
and I highly endorse this and we are going to recommend the small group Leader's Kit to our Pastor.
