Christ was Here and Christ will come back to Reign. Review Date: 2006-02-09
Evidence that Christ Lived, and Lives till this day-But in the Heavens. Review Date: 2005-11-26
People should not look at this information from the Scientific point of view
because whole point to this is something even more important-and that is that Jesus Christ did Exist back then. The Shroud of Turin is the Evidence. It is no hoax at all. It is all Real. The point is that Jesus Christ, the True Creator God of this World roamed this Planet in the Flesh back in the day before He Left to Heaven in order to be With His Father (God). When He died, He was wrapped with this Shroud-this blaket sheet when placed in some Cave. Why do the Italians hold this Shroud with such caution/care?
Because it is real! It is like the only piece evidence that says to one that Christ was Alive. This book is recommended to Atheists who don't believe that Christ existed at all. This is proof that He did Live. Everyone will be shocked once He comes back to this Earth.....One has to believe in Him, as well as follow His ways because many will be damned to Hell.
This is a great book by Ian Wilson. 5 stars.

The inspiration for a modern perennial garden!Review Date: 2002-06-20
Trip down memory lane...via the garden pathReview Date: 2003-01-15
Lawrence and White corresponded for several decades. The two women discussed their gardens, their columns, their books, and their lives. In the early part of their correspondence, they often wrote each other by return mail. Toward the end of Katherine's life, the letters were few and far between as illness began to affect her movement and ability to see. In spite of their suffering, they continued to observe the world around them and relay how things were going in the garden-the latest blooms, the ravenous mice, the unexpected cold snap, the new greenhouse. Their words remind me of the hope and comfort women have long experienced when a letter from a loved one arrives. As my 87-year old aunt with whom I still correspond says, it doesn't matter what you write, the smallest thing matters.
The editor of this collection of letters Emily Wilson, quotes a librarian who remarked after having read the letters Elizabeth and Katherine wrote to each other, "I got a feeling of moral interdependence on a creative level. Somehow I had viewed the creativity of successful people as a strong force that perhaps needed channeling but not encouragement. Now, on this new-to-me-plane, I see again that no man is an island."

Best Twain compendium I know ofReview Date: 2004-12-03
This is essentially like most of the inexpensive but nice-looking collections of old literature that you see in book stores, with the leatherette covers and super shiny gilt page edges. Not super impressive, but looks good on the bookshelf.
The best part about this volume is that it contains the vast majority of Twain's works that most people would want to read, including Huckleberry Finn, Tom Sawyer, The Innocents Abroad, The Prince and the Pauper, and A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court. It also includes some classic short pieces, like The Celebrated Jumping Frog of Calaveras County and Fenimore Cooper's Literary Offenses. In total, there is relatively little chaff in here. There is a second volume to go with this one, but it is nowhere near as good.
If you want a good Twain collection to put on the bookshelf, I recommend this one.

Essential Player's Guide for WerewolfReview Date: 2007-06-26
The next chapter is named Meat, appropriately enough, and contains just that. It's full of optional new Merits, Flaws, Gifts, Rites, Fetishes and Talens. Tooth and Claw, a new Fighting Style Merit, is introduced, and each Tribe gets a new Gift list, as well as suggestions for further Gifts (though it's recommended the ST be careful to keep things balanced). I found the Weakness and Information Gifts especially intriguing, but theres almost a dozen to choose from! Theres also examination of Harmony and, most importantly, pack structure, including new rules for using pack tactics! The final chapter, named Bones, goes into more detail on setting. A major portion of it deals with Protectorates, alliances between packs, and large scale interaction between local Uratha. This sort of stuff will doubtless be useful for Forsaken LARPs, but equally interesting was the examination of Uratha culture across the globe. Both the culture and regional problems are shown, along with several very different sample NPCs. How do the Uratha of the Middle East and North Africa view Islam? What strange cults threaten those in the Mediterranean? How much influence comes from the tribal animistic beliefs of Africa? And what are the Pure up to in Asia? All these are answered in this last section.
All in all, this is an excellent book. The sections on Tribe and global culture are excellent for adding some new dimension to characters, while the information on setting is useful for any large scale game. And, needless to say, the new mechanics are invaluable as well. Especially the stuff about packs. And, like I said, pretty much everything published so far has been a great resource. I find much of the information from this book going hand in hand with other resources, like Shadows of the UK and Lodges: the Splintered, adding more regional detail and variation to the setting. Whether you want to run a game in the wastes of the Sahara, or the slums of Rio, or the good old U-S-of-A, you'll find this book incredingly useful. I strongly recommend this as a resource for both players and STs.

A surprising discoveryReview Date: 2008-02-17
Wilson was one of my least favourite Presidents - so I thought this may give me another perspective.
I was captivated by the book - the complexity of WW's charachter, the same mistakes continuously repeated with links to his parental relationships.
In 50 years time someone will write a best seller of the Clintons as a psychological profile - this was the precedent.
Great book. Great surprise.
Woodrow Wilson and Colonel House: A Personality StudyReview Date: 2007-02-20
Entertaining. Informative. Thought-provoking.Review Date: 1999-05-12
I read the book in 2 days because I could not put it down. It well deserves the status of "classic." Although the psychological disposition and development of Wilson provide a motif throughout, the authors state their case in moderate terms and are kind enough to limit jargon-filled discussions to very few pages. Some readers will sense contradictions in the analysis, but they are not too distracting. Meanwhile, an impressive tale is told. The reader goes from the singing of hymns in church as a child to a bizarre last speech on a balcony (before Wilson dies). Wilson emerges as a perfectionist, an idealist, one full of self-doubt, and yet one unwilling to compromise EVER ! He also emerges as someone who had low self-esteem and a giant, hyper-sensitive ego which allowed him about 3 friends (his 2 wives and Colonel House). House was valued by Wilson because he knew how (and was willing)to flatter and say "yes" a lot to Wilson (to his face anyway). Personal diaries and letters add color to the discussion of the relationship. Wilson's complex make-up interestingly resulted in all too predictable dispositions and behavior. Participants at the Paris Peace Conference and Senator Henry Cabot Lodge understood this and played him like a cheap deck of cards. Thus, this great read teaches lessons about politics, personality and life!

The Best Source for World Film Biography & FilmographyReview Date: 2001-02-07
Magnificent Information SourceReview Date: 2002-01-09
"World Film Directors" also provides a film historian or fan with the opportunity to enhance his or her perspective of a particular movie by receiving important information on the making of the film, as well as the director's view of the subject matter, as well as opinions of reviewers.
What impressed me most about this work was the exhaustive manner in which it covered film history from 1890-1945. While the breadth is spectacular, the book never bogs down into trivia or fact recitation for its own sake. The directors' lives and careers, as well as their significant films, are covered with the microscope applied to substance rather than minutiae.

Great Vintage Book!Review Date: 2004-01-03
If you're serious about having your Beetle 100% original this book shows the reader the 49-59 annual changes made to the Beetle and what options are correct based on serial (production) numbers of the car.
It also shows correct paint codes and the options for the different models of the car (deluxe, standard, or export).
This period of the production of the Beetle is probably the favorite for any vintage fan and this book is definately an interesting and informative read.

When Frank came around and started writing the book, he ploughed his heart and sole into it, not wanting it to turn out the same way as the other SRM books on the market. The finished product is a wealth of information from a very smart individual. Well worth it. Good luck to you Frank.

The important message of the book, on this topic (on the shroud)is that the He (Jesus Christ)came to save us in order for us to have Eternal salvation. People like to exaggerate or even show off by saying, "the shroud of turin" but what is more important for one is the Person who was wrapped in it (Jesus Christ)and not the cloth itself. The cloth will not take you to heaven but the God Christ will. Christ is Alive and He is in Heaven....we will have new bodies in this new world that Jesus Christ will establish Himself, but for that to happen we must be good and we must be in the book of Life in order to see this new world He will create. i also recommend you get a Bible ESV and read the word of GOD Christ. the shroud can be compared to this example: a person you meet who is very nice but who wore a polo shirt, but when he is gone, the shirt stays behind, but seeing that shirt will remind you of that loving person you always dealt with. You want him back(that person in your life) because he was so loving, caring, unique, and he was the only one who understood you-always and forever.
